He did this in order to live His life as a perfect pattern of the way God desires that all His children live.<br />&nbsp;As the Cross drew ever closer, the Lord Jesus knew that He would soon leave His earthly companions and return to His Father in heaven. And so He left important instructions for all of His children to follow; that we should love each other with a divine, self-sacrificial love, that only comes from Him. We should treat each other with a godly affection and gentle kindness that can only be imparted to us by His Holy Spirit, as we remain in Him and He in us.<br />&nbsp;The essence of the Christian creed is contained in this extraordinary command of Christ: "<strong><a href="https://www.unitedbyprayer.com" target="_blank">Love One Another</a></strong> in the same manner that I have loved you." Christ willingly sacrificed His own life so that we might live, should we not do the same for others?<br />&nbsp;Let us seek to live our lives as unto the Lord, in spirit and truth. He did not start to crow over his friends that HE rather than they had received the answer. Daniel was willing to seek the Lord, to hear from Him, to be used by Him, and to give God all the glory and praise forever and ever, because he knew that all wisdom and power, might, majesty, dominion, and authority belonged to GOD.<br />&nbsp;In this world that is disintegrating before our eyes, how important it is to seek the Lord when pressures and problems mount up in our lives. May we acknowledge that in our own strength we can do nothing - but how we praise God that we can do all things through Christ, Who strengthens us. He spoke the truth in love but did not compromise His speech or language. Like Christ, <strong><a href="https://www.unitedbyprayer.com" target="_blank">Our Speech Should Always Be Gracious</a></strong> and seasoned with salt.<br />&nbsp;Words that come out from our mouth, have their source in the thoughts of our hearts. When our heart is properly focused on the Lord, in fellowship with the Father and being led by the Spirit, our words will be gracious and seasoned with salt. They will be both gracious words and truthful words. They will not be designed to embarrass or hurt, ridicule, or humiliate others, but will speak the truth in love. When we are led by the Spirit, He will help us to know how we should respond to every person.<br />&nbsp;We can never learn how to speak unto the Lord by a 12-step program designed by man, train ourselves to always say the right thing, try to copy the words that other people speak, or even parrot the words of the Lord Jesus Himself. They had been battling the raging storm throughout the night and they were exhausted, but it continued to lash their little boat well into the early hours of the morning, for we are told that it was the fourth watch of the night when Jesus came to them.&nbsp;The Lord Jesus was aware of the danger they were in but He was also  [...] ]]></description><content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="paragraph">&nbsp;<font color="#0b0a0a">As the disciples struggled to keep their little boat afloat in the midst of the tempestuous storm that raged across the sea, Jesus came to them, walking on the water. They had been battling the raging storm throughout the night and they were exhausted, but it continued to lash their little boat well into the early hours of the morning, for we are told that it was the fourth watch of the night when Jesus came to them.<br />&nbsp;The Lord Jesus was aware of the danger they were in but He was also concerned about their peace of mind. He cares for us as a kindly Shepherd and tends to the needs of all His sheep.<br />&nbsp;What an object lesson to us all that He is never far from any one of us. All we need to do is call out to Him, and He will reply, "<strong><a href="https://www.unitedbyprayer.com" target="_blank">Take Courage!</a></strong> It is I, do not fear." The Lord could have prevented the storm and kept the disciples safe in peaceful waters, but He could not have called out His reassuring word to have courage so as to demonstrate that He is an ever-present help in need.</font><br /><a href="https://www.unitedbyprayer.com/united-by-prayer-wall.html"><span style="color:rgb(0, 19, 32); font-weight:700">Matthew 14:27&nbsp;</span><span style="color:rgb(0, 19, 32)">But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, &ldquo;Be of good cheer! The human race marches on, seeking answers that are beyond our comprehension because our infinite, unfathomable, God has designed us with a hunger for more, a hunger that nothing but He Himself can suffice.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br />&nbsp;It is when we are willing to surrender to the sovereignty of God and acknowledge that He is the omniscient, all-powerful God Whose ways are past finding out, and that we are His dependent creatures, that our inner restlessness is stilled.&nbsp;<br />&nbsp;God has done all things appropriately and well, and He has set eternity in the heart of all so that those who seek Him with all their heart will find rest for their soul in Him and receive <strong><a href="https://www.unitedbyprayer.com" target="_blank">The Gift Of Eternal Life</a></strong> through faith in Christ. All who are positioned in Christ, died to sin when Jesus died on the Cross. But as a member of His Body, we are not only grafted into His death but also joined together with Him in His resurrected life. We are united in life with our resurrected Lord. His death became our death, but His resurrected life became our new, resurrected life, a life which is everlasting.<br />&nbsp;Like Paul, we need to acknowledge who we are in Christ and we should desire that close intimacy with Him in the everyday circumstances of life. The armies of heaven were at His disposal, but He could never respond to the jeering crowd that taunted, "If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross and save Yourself," for to do so would have shut the door to paradise for everyone and slammed closed the gates of heaven forever, with no hope for mankind in the world.<br />&nbsp;Jesus's gracious prayer of forgiveness&nbsp; prompted one criminal on the cross behind him his request when, with a repentant heart he cried, "This man has done nothing wrong," and then turning towards the Lord he pleaded, "Jesus, remember me when you come into Your kingdom."<br />&nbsp;I doubt that the thieving criminal expected to hear Christ's merciful reply, "Today you will be with Me in paradise," nor would he have anticipated the wonderful joy into which he would shortly enter. But immediately, his simple faith was rewarded with a promise of paradise in the company of the Redeemer Himself.<br />&nbsp;Though salvation is conditional on the repentant sinner turning to Christ, this beautiful passage gives assurance that <strong><a href="https://www.unitedbyprayer.com" target="_blank">It Is Never Too Late To Look To The Lord Jesus And LIVE</a></strong>. It demonstrates that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ, and is not dependent on any liturgical sacraments, baptismal rituals, good works, man-made doctrines, or legalistic requirements. He wanted them to share in the hope we have in Christ and experience the great freedoms we enjoy by faith in Him.<br />&nbsp;Paul's bold declaration on preaching the gospel follows a long passage that speaks of the great privileges that are ours in Christ, and details <strong><a href="https://www.unitedbyprayer.com" target="_blank">The Responsibility We All Have Towards God And Our Fellow Believers</a></strong>. As Paul reminds us, there are many responsibilities that accompany our great salvation.&nbsp;<br />&nbsp;Like the apostle Paul, we have received our salvation by faith in Christ, and like him we have nothing to boast about. Our salvation does not depend on what we do but on what Christ has already done on our account.
