Jeremiah was a sensitive man who wore his heart on his sleeve. He had been divinely called to denounce Israel's spiritual apostasy and proclaim severe judgement upon them. They had gone astray and had willingly become embroiled in the practices and perversions of their pagan neighbors. Throughout his life, Jeremiah was faithful in delivering the Word of the Lord to the errant people of Israel, despite his message being rejected by the masses and derided by the king. Yet Jeremiah trusted God's promises. He was part of a little remnant of committed believers and cried out for healing and deliverance: Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise. Like Jeremiah, We Are Called To Be Faithful in the work that God has given us to do. We are not to become discouraged if our life appears mundane or our ministry seems unfruitful. Like Jeremiah, we are called to be faithful to the point of death and we will receive healing, deliverance, and the eternal reward that God has prepared for those that love and trust Him. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the historical record of Israel's history, which has so much to teach us of your plans and purposes for mankind and Your goodness and grace toward us. May we learn from their mistakes and be guided into godly living. Thank You that You can be trusted to fulfil Your promises to Your people and to correct us when we go astray. We pray that we would be faithful in the work You have given for us to do, and thank You that in You is healing, wholeness, hope, and joy, for You are our God and are worthy of all our praise, AMEN.

How powerful, comforting, and heart-warning these words are to us! The invisible God is never far from any one of us, but His presence oftentimes seems distant, during times of deep distress and anguish of heart. But God in His wisdom, often waits for His distressed children to recognize that our deepest needs is the Lord Himself, and that our severe lack, can only be satisfied in Him as we come to Him in childlike dependence and trusting faith. God in His grace, often uses those times of darkness and distress to teach us important lessons of His grace, so that as we call out to Him for help and strength, we discover Him to be our great Support, our merciful Provider, the Rock on which we stand, and our heavenly Comforter. Often in His great wisdom, He will bring us to the end of ourselves so that we discover that He alone is our refuge and strength. The prayer of helplessness is the simple sigh of the living soul, which is breathed into the heart of the living God. The whispered plea of dependent helplessness, rejoices the heart of God, and His immediate response is, "fear not, my child, I created you and purchased you, I died for you and I love you." When the eyes of the heart cling to the Lord in deep distress and childlike dependence, our muted voice is translated into an inner groan of the soul, and God draws near and He hears and responds to every cry of His children, with His gracious words of comfort, FEAR NOT. You came near when I called you, and you said, “Do not fear.” Our United Prayer:
Help us Lord, in our deep distress, in Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. You came near when I called you, and you said, “Do not fear.” When we were born of fallen Adam, we were born of the flesh and received a fallen and fleshly nature. When we were born of the Holy Spirit, we received a holy and spiritual nature. When we first believed in Christ, we received a new nature, the nature of Christ. We were born into newness of life and given a regenerated spirit, a new life in Christ. Because we are no longer are part of the old life in Adam but Our New Life In Christ, we should no longer exhibit our original corrupt nature but our new, born-again nature, and this is done, by the renewing of our minds. We are in the world, but not of the world It is the Word of God that renews our minds. It is the holy Bible that washes our minds clean. It is the Scriptures that renew our minds, day by day, and enables our new life in Christ to grow and mature. Jesus prayed to the Father just before His crucifixion: "Sanctify them by the truth, Your Word is truth." It is being immersed in the Word of truth that causes our lives to be gradually transformed, by the Spirit of truth, as our minds are being renewed in Him. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we ask that in the power of Your Spirit You would cleanse and renew the spirit of our minds in Christ, as we immerse our hearts in Your Word of truth. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. We are called in this verse to develop a strong relationships with all members of the Body of Christ and to develop strong family relationships with other believers. Our inner resolve and heart-determination should be to consider the needs of our Christian family before our own personal needs, in order to provoke others unto love and good works by the example we set in our own actions, attitude, words, and motives. The first principle of the spirit-filled life is for Brotherly And Sisterly Love to continue. We are to love as Christ loved us; to live as Christ lived and to show forth the love of Christ to all our brothers and sisters in Christ as we minister to them in love, without compromising the truth of the gospel of Christ. We are to hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering so that we may stimulate one another to love and good deeds as we seek to develop the love of Christ in our heart to His praise and glory. Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that while we were yet sinners, You loved us and gave Christ to be the propitiation for our sins. Help us, in word and deed, to increase and abound in brotherly love for one another, just as we also do for You. Give us wisdom as we minister to our brothers and sisters in Christ, and may we speak the truth in love to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. God is the power behind every one of His promises, and God is the truth behind all of His Word. God is the omniscience behind all of His counsel, and He is the supernatural mind behind all of His plans. No promise from God will ever fail to reach its fulfilment, every directive that proceeds from the mind of the Almighty must arrive at its ultimate completion, NOTHING Is Impossible with respect to any of God's promises. This truth is fully consistent with the perfect nature of God's character and totally compatible with His eternal perfection. If God has promised it, nothing will stand in the way of its final fulfilment. It is unbelief that questions the Word of God and doubt that casts a shadow over the veracity of God's promises, for they are all yes and amen in Christ. Let us believe that nothing is impossible with respect to each and every one of God's precious promises to us, and demonstrate the same, trusting faith that nothing is impossible to God, even when we don't understand. For with God nothing will be impossible.” Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, thank You for Your Word and the many promises that fill its pages. Thank You that nothing is impossible with respect to any of Your precious promises, not only to us, but to all people. Forgive us for the times we have doubted Your Word, and help us to stand firm in all that You have promised. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Legalistic rules about giving, together with the unbiblical 'word of faith' movement and its prosperity teaching has given Christians an unbiblical focus, dishonoring the gospel of grace, and has brought Christianity into the state of being held in low esteem by the public. Legalism and prosperity teachings has placed many into bondage under unbiblical, man-made rules. It has twisted the truth of Scripture and dishonors the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul spends a considerable chunk of his second letter to the Corinthians discussing the principles and promises that are connected with true, biblical giving, and he identifies cheerful giving as an obedient, generous heart and a beautiful Christian grace that bring blessings to others, benefit to ourselves, and glory to our Father in heaven. Paul outlines The Motives That Should Be Behind All Christian Giving. Each one must give according to what he or she has decided and in accordance with his or her means, and not in compliance with legalistic rules, selfish motives, or in response to a false preacher's greedy distortion of biblical giving. But Paul also points out that we are to be wise in our giving, to give according to our personal means, and not to feel embarrassed or obligated to give more that we have purposed in our heart simply because our gift is smaller in quantity or appears inconsequential by comparison with that of another. Cheerful giving that proceeds from a heart that loves to do the will of the Lord in spirit and in truth is applauded while a gift that is given grudgingly, comes from a heart that has misunderstood the true purpose of giving and which sadly misses the blessings that stream into the life of a faithful and true disciple of the Lord. Let us give of our time as well as our money. Let us offer our love to the Lord as well as our finances. We should all examine the hidden motives of our hearts as we give of our time, our money, our skill, and our talents, to see if our hearts are filled with joy and grateful thanks for all that Christ has done for us or if we are still using our Christian giving in response to legalist bondage, selfish motives, or for any other unbiblical purpose. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You have given us all things richly to enjoy and that everything we have comes from You. May we never be under the illusion that we can out give Your over-abounding gift of grace, in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. May we give faithfully, cheerfully, and generously of our time, our talents, and our money. May the motive behind our giving be pure and ever open to Your scrutiny. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. Malachi was one of God's final messengers who identified the same problems that concerned Nehemiah, including ingratitude towards God, the sacrilegious behavior of priests and people alike, the practice of divorce, mixed marriages with pagans, and the denial of God's holiness and justice. The people would not acknowledge their sin nor accept any prophetic accusation. They refused to admit that they, or their forefathers had turned away from God's decrees and disobeyed His voice. The sin identified in this verse was Israel's failure to bring their tithes and offerings to the Lord: "Will a man rob God?" was Malachi's blistering accusation. The Mosaic Law required the people of Israel to pay a tithe, where a tenth of their produce and livestock was given back to the Lord. The tithe was to be brought 'into the storehouse' - into the Temple of God. As New Testament believers, We Are Not Under The Mosaic Law, and We Are Not Governed By The Giving Of Tithes or offerings. As Christians we are not under any legalistic requirement but are governed by a higher principle: Grace. Scripture does not require us to give a tithe, but teaches that we should give to the Lord willingly, liberally, and cheerfully. Our offerings to Him should be out of love for all He is, and all He has done for us. All that I am He made me, and all that I have He gave me' is a principle that Christians can freely adopt. This does not mean giving every penny we earn into the collection plate or to charitable causes, nor does it mean that living in poverty indicates spirituality. The principle we are to follow is to acknowledge, with a grateful heart and thankful praise, that all we have comes from Him. “Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that we are not under the Law, but under Grace. We praise and thank You for all that You are and all that You have done for us. We pray that our hearts would be open before you, and that You would develop in us loving and giving hearts and spirits of generosity. Help us never to fall into the same prideful trap into which many in Israel fell, when they refused to obey Your Word and robbed You of Your rightful place in their lives. Lord, we freely acknowledge that all that we are, You have made us, and all that we have, You have given to us. We pray that we may live and work for Your greater praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. How important that we hold this world's wealth and wisdom, together with position and power very lightly. What we treasure in our hearts will become that which we worship. We brought nothing into this world and will take nothing out of it, and yet too often we spend the majority of our time accumulating unimportant things and glorifying in the gaudy trinkets of this temporal world, at the expense of storing up a heavenly wealth of God's glorious blessings as part of our eternal heritage. When we treasure the things of this world, our heart is far from the Lord, but when He becomes the greatest Treasure of our lives, our heart will worship him in grateful thanksgiving and praise. The love of earthly treasure is a root of all kinds of evil, which can cause the believer to wander from the good news of the gospel of grace It can cause us to forfeit many of the rich blessings that God desires for each of His children to receive. Let us Treasure The Things Of The Lord, and unrelentingly pursue after righteousness and godliness, faith and love, perseverance and gentleness, humility of heart and joy in the Lord, when our treasure is rooted and grounded in Jesus, then our heart will be anchored to the Rock of our eternal salvation. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Our United Prayer: Heavenly Father, we pray that we may know Christ and treasure Him for Who He is, and all He has done for us. May our hearts be rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus our Lord. Help us to fight the good fight of faith and not be tempted by the transient treasures of this world. Help us to secure good reports and to lay up for ourselves much treasures in our heavenly home, to Your glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. There are many churches that are posting or preaching scripture that is very misleading and for our younger generation, this is one of the problems that exist today. Some churches have become very confusing. Too many denominations, manmade rules and scripture interpreted in ways that are misleading. Some churches want you to believe that you are to give the church 10% of you income and using the verse we posted today to lead you to believe something that does not exist. We found this on a membership page on a church website:
The Rewards of Tithing The Bible says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21) When we as followers of Jesus tithe, we are expressing worship in a tangible way. We are showing that we have put God first in our lives, that He has our hearts. What does this have to do with tithing? God does not promise you any rewards for tithing at any church. If you put God first in your life, he has your heart without tithing. This is why we are compelled to give you scripture and God's meaning about giving over the next 3 days. There is too much confusion too many people who truly want a relationship with God but don't know where to go. In no way are we against churches at all. They have a purpose in which we have posted many verses in the past. The most important thing to know as a Christian is that The Church is not a building, The Church is all of God's Children! We are engaged in the battle of all battles: a spiritual war between good and evil, between the Lord God Almighty and His wicked adversary, that old serpent who is called the devil and Satan. The devil has been engaged in confrontation with humanity from the moment God breathed life into man and Adam became a living being, made in the image and likeness of God. Twisted teachers and their false doctrines as one of the main challenges Christians will encounter during the Church dispensation. Satan has many ways he seeks to shipwreck the faith of God's people, and the sowing of lies and deceit is one of the destructive weapons. God Is Faithful To Fulfil His Plans and purposes and we will not be overcome by evil. No matter how terrible things become, we have an assurance that God's judgement of evil and His punishment of the wicked will happen. We also have confidence that false teachers, who lead God's people astray, will be punished for their rebellious, deceitful, mercenary, and sinful ways. Let's never be tempted to lose heart in life's difficult circumstances, nor despair when we see the wicked flourish. May we maintain our trust in the Lord despite the deteriorating world situations we witness and false teachers that are flooding our places of worship. God is not mocked, and judgement and punishment will be meted out to the wicked in His time and in His way, and deliverance is assured to those that are His. ALL His ways are perfect and His judgement are altogether righteous. if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we bless and thank You for Your precious Words. Thank You for the many truths we learn from its pages, and the reassurances we receive that both the righteous judgement of the wicked and gracious deliverance of the righteous, is the outcome of this world. Thank You that You know how to rescue Your people from both the temptations of the evil and the inevitable trials that stalk the pathway of every man and woman. Thank You that even in those times when we fail through fear or lack of faith, You remain faithful and Your promises never fail. Praise You, Lord. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Our faith in God pleases Him while our thanksgiving glorifies Him, and the one that glorifies the Father is the true worshipper who worships Him in spirit and truth. Genuine thanksgiving to the Lord is a freewill offering, a sacrifice of praise, a living sacrifice, a gift of love to the Lord our God. Such an offering is not merely to be an external display of reverent homage but an inner spirit of genuine gratefulness, a heart overflowing with adoration that springs from the man or woman that is deeply in love with the Lord. No act of thanksgiving nor any form of worship that does not spring forth from the inner being that loves the Lord is acceptable to Him. God, Who judges the hearts of all, is not mocked and warns all that are so inclined to cleanse their hearts, alter their ways, and dress themselves in the robe of Christ's righteousness in sincerity and truth. It is never too late for any believer who has adopted a form of complacency or put on a necklace of hypocrisy to change their ways. God is gracious and long-suffering. But He also warns us to recognize the error of our attitude, change our ways, and return to Him. Our Faith In God pleases Him, while our genuine thanksgiving glorifies Him. Let us be those that glorify the Father through a sacrifice of praise as, day by day, we worship Him in spirit and in truth. If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we confess that we have not always had the right attitudes of true thanksgiving toward You. We pray that from now on, our lives would be living sacrifices that are pleasing to You and glorifies Your name. Help us to identify and correct any wrong attitudes within our hearts, and begin anew to worship You in spirit and truth. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Despite being in the midst of death because of sin, we have an assurance of great glory to follow, for we have been saved by grace through faith in Him. The present suffering and pain we experience in this mortal frame can never be compared with The Great Glory That Is Awaiting Us because we are in Christ. The moment we are born, we start a journey towards our death, and for the duration of this earthly life we inhabit a physical frame that marches on to an inevitable conclusion. Paul describes this as living in a temporary earthly tent which will one day be torn down, and as the previous chapter indicates, this may be due to persecution or suffering inflicted on those who are saved. The great comfort with which all God's children are comforted, is that this earthly body is not our permanent residence. The body we inhabit is simply a caretaker covering that will one day be replaced with a much better, permanent place of residence; a resurrected, glorified body. He has promised an eternal home in which we will be housed, an everlasting and secure heavenly dwelling-place which is ours by God's grace through faith in Him. As new creatures in Christ we have the assurance of our bodily resurrection, a house in heaven not made by hands, a dwelling-place that is not part of the old, fallen creation, but a perfect dwelling-place where will live eternally with our heavenly Savior. For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for our lives and the knowledge that by grace through faith, we have been made new creations in Christ. Our earthly bodies will be replaced with a heavenly dwelling, not made with hands but formed and fashioned by our God and Savior. Thank You for the words of encouragement in Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, that no matter what trials, tribulations, persecution, and pain we may have to face while living in our earthly tents, we have the assurance of a permanent building from God, an eternal house in the heavens. Keep us ever mindful that this world is not our home and that our citizenship and eternal inheritance is kept for us in heaven. Thank You that one day we will be dressed in immortality and be made like unto Jesus, our God and our Savior. Praise Your holy name, AMEN. God knows the end from the beginning. He knows before the foundation of the world the choices that every man and woman will make with regard to their salvation. God knew Your choice, and He knew mine before we were even born. We who, at some point in our life, have chosen to accept His gift of salvation, were Elected As God's Children before the foundation of the world. God has given every man and woman the right to choose their eternal destiny, either faith in Christ as Savior OR rejection of the One Who died for their sins and rose to give life to all who would believe in His name. God knows those who through their free-will choice will trust in the death, burial, and Resurrection of Christ for salvation during their lifetime on earth, and it is because God is omniscient that He knows ahead of time the choices each one of us will make. God elects everyone who by faith choose to trust in Christ for salvation. Having been saved by faith, let us confirm our election and our calling by walking in spirit and truth, and trusting in the unchanging Word of God so that we will live our lives as He intended and produce fruit to His praise and glory. The more we know God's Word, the more we trust His Word. The more we trust His Word, the more we become secure in our election, our calling, and our eternal heritage in Christ. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that there is nothing we can do to be saved but believe in the finished work of Christ on the Cross. Thank You that once we are saved, we cannot be plucked out of Your hand but we can live our lives in a manner that honors You and shows spiritual fruit. We pray that as we walk in faith, the truth of our salvation becomes the greatest reality in our lives as, day by day, Christ is being formed in us. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. What is mankind that we should be mindful of what others think of us? Too often the gospel truth to which we hold fast, is foolishness to the world of mankind and can also be distorted by the finite thinking of many theologians. It is also the Scripture, which is His inerrant Word of Truth that is to be the focus of our studies and not the wise philosophies or limited scope of mortal man's understanding. Through the study of His Word, we should make every effort to discover the beautiful wisdom that are found within its pages. But what does it mean to rightly divide this Word of truth? What does it mean to rightly divide the Scriptures of God? Well, we are to accurately handle the content of the Bible. We are to correctly learn and teach all that has been revealed to mankind in God's Word, to correctly interpret the Scriptures. We are to rightly divide the Word of truth! Scripture should not be taken out of context nor twisted to say what we would like it to say, or even think it says! The Word of God is one unified whole which unveils the unchanging nature and character of God and the devastating effects of sin, which is a concept that threads throughout the Word. Scripture Is Its Own Interpreter, and the Holy Spirit becomes the teacher of the believer that is walking in spirit and truth, so let us: Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word of truth and the grace that it contains. We pray that by Your grace, we may walk in spirit and truth as we search the Scriptures daily to discover what Your Holy Spirit would teach us. Give us understanding of Your Word, teachable spirits, and guide us into all truth, We Pray. this In Jesus' name, AMEN. As Christians, we are the most blessed people on earth, for in Christ we have become victorious in life and through Him we have been declared triumphant over death. We are identified with His Person, His perfections, His glorious victories, and His resurrected life and, it is all by faith. Because we are in Christ by faith, we have passed from death to life-eternal and are one with Him. Because we have been born again, we are accepted forever by the Father. We are declared righteous because of our union with Christ Jesus our Lord. We are able to continue to trust God even during those tough times when we are pressed out of measure, tossed about by every possible difficulty and danger and attacked by the enemy of our souls, then our life becomes a sweet aroma to the Lord such that the spreading of the gospel of Christ becomes the wonderful consequence of a life consecrated to God. May our lives become a living sacrifice holy to the Lord and honoring to His name. When we are encompassed by many sorts of dangers and difficult circumstances, may we be willing and able to give thanks to our heavenly Father in all things knowing that He Always Leads Us In Triumph in Christ and manifests through us a sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that no matter what we may have to face in life, that in Christ we are always led to victory. We pray that as we rest in Him, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, that we may always be led in triumph to Your praise and glory. May our lives be living sacrifices - a burnt offering that becomes as sweet-smelling perfume of the knowledge of Him in every place You may choose to send us. We pray this in Jesus' name and for His glory, AMEN. We are urged to live a life that is becoming of one that has been saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, and upon whom our Father in heaven has lavished so much grace and favor, forgiveness, mercy, and love. We are asked to live in humility and lowliness of mind. We are implored to be meek and mild, unselfish and gentle. We are urged to be patient and to patiently endure (with thanksgiving) the difficult life-circumstances in which we may find ourselves. We are called to bear with one another and make allowances for our brothers and sisters in Christ, in so doing We Are Demonstrating The Love Of Christ, being lived through us. Let us leave the self-life nailed to the Cross and live out our new-life in Christ (which we received at salvation), in humility and gentleness, patiently enduring with grace, tolerance, and love. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wealth of spiritual blessings that You have lavished on us, by grace through faith. Lord, we desire to live godly in Christ Jesus and to walk in humble dependence and humility of heart before you, all the days of our lives. Help us to put off the old-self and to live as You desire, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. |
