PRAYING TOGETHER AS A FAMILY
Praise God that in His grace ALL who call on the name of the Lord in the dispensation of grace will be saved. May we who have been saved by grace through faith in Jesus always acknowledge that He is the one and only true God and that His eternal Son was born into the human race to live a perfect life and to die a sacrificial death, so that whosever believe in Him might not perish but have everlasting life. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved Our United Prayer:
Thank You Father, that down through the ages all who have called on Your name are delivered and thank You that by grace through faith in the precious blood of Jesus.. we have been saved. May we live and work to Your praise and glory .. in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. However young or old a person may be in physical years, the fleeting breath of this brief life is but a drop in the vast ocean of eternity as time tick-tocks away. The moon continues to shine in its monthly cycle, and the sun sets in the western skies, evening by evening, as year succeeds to year, in nature's ever-circling round. As spring skips through summer into autumn's golden glow, the end of all things is drawing very close. The end of everything is speeding to its final conclusion. How important therefore to keep ourselves in the love of God as we look to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. How wise is the one who abides in Christ, rests in His love, prays in spirit and truth, and maintains close communion with God the Father, for the judgements of such a man or woman are sound. His spirit is sober and his prayers and praises are powerful, effective, and can move great mountains. The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for giving us the understanding that only as we remain in Christ can we practice self-controlled godly conduct, and maintain fellowship with You, it is only through His righteousness that we can approach Your throne of grace and pray effectively. Keep us we pray, looking to Jesus as we wait for His return. Keep us sound in judgement, sober in spirit, and use us we pray, to share the good news of the gospel with lost souls in need of salvation. We pray that Your will be done in our lives, and that godly wisdom and understanding would be reflected in our prayers and praises. This we ask in Jesus' name, and for His greater glory, AMEN. Jesus calls His disciples to love their enemies and to do good to those who hate them. They are commanded to bless those who curse them, pray for those who mistreat them, refuse to retaliate, give freely and generously, and treat others in a way that they would like to be treated themselves. Giving to others, in little acts of kindness or through a generous attitude of care and concern, will often result in thoughtful deeds and a gracious attitude being reflected back upon the giver. Don't look for anything in return or boast about what you have done for others. Love is displayed in selflessly giving to others and the ministry in which we are engaged should manifest the sacrificial grace, compassion, and kindness that Christ has shown towards us – in that while we were yet sinners, Jesus died for US. With Jesus as our pattern of godly living and the model of divine love, should not we seek to imitate His goodness and grace? NOT in our own strength, but in the strength that He supplies us, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the simple yet universal principle of 'giving to others and it will be given to you'. Thank You that You have given to us over and above all that we could ask or think, by sending Jesus to pay the price for our sins, and that He rose again to give us eternal life. Too often we have not lived as You would have us to live, nor have we always shown the love, mercy, generosity, and kindness that honors You, but we pray that from today You would enable us to reflect the love, generosity, goodness, and grace of Jesus Christ. In His name we pray, AMEN. In this psalm, David cried out to the Lord in humility of heart. He humbly addressed God as his Lord and Maker a number of times, and was ready and willing to confess. He was ready to acknowledge his utter dependence upon His Maker and that God would answer the cry of His servant... not because of any righteousness act David may have carried out, but by God's grace alone. The Lord our God is Almighty, and He is incomparable in wisdom and eternal in graciousness - and the superabundance of His mighty works, which are multiplied in magnificence throughout His created universe, let us all unite in a song of praise to lift Him up and declare Him to be God of gods and Lord of lords. Let us unite our hearts and voices with those that have gone before and be quick to confess. Among the gods there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours. Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, there is no one like You and we praise and worship You for Your love towards us. Help us to tear down any false god or foolish idol that we have created in our own imagination. You alone are worthy of our worship, praise, and thanksgiving, and we pray that the rest of our lives may be set aside completely for You, in willing obedience and humble devotion for Your praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. It is only those that have trusted Christ as Saviour who are able to act justly and be merciful and walk humbly before their God, for only those that are born from above have been endowed with the new-life in Christ, the godly nature of Christ Jesus. Only believers are imputed with His righteousness, which alone can act justly, love faithfulness, and walk humbly before God. If a born-again believer chooses to live their life from the source of the old sin nature, they will never do that which is pleasing in the sight of God, for only as a believer lives their life from the source of the new- life in Christ are they able, through the power or His Spirit, to the glory of God the Father. He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, it is our desire to walk humbly before You all the days of our lives. Thank You for sending the Lord Jesus to live a perfect life and die as the perfect sacrifice so that we could be imputed with His perfect righteousness, enabling us, in His power, to walk humbly before You. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. |
