For over 2000 years, lawlessness has been restrained through the prayers, praises, and exploits of Church-age saints by the power of the Holy Spirit. Christians are the tool God is using today to suppress the spread of all forms of satanic evil and preach the gospel of grace to every nation. Today, the prayers and praises of Christians exalt the true and living God as He is worshipped in spirit and in truth. How terrible it will be when the Church is removed, the full force of evil is permitted to envelop the earth, and the Antichrist is revealed. In verse 9 of 2 Thessalonians 2, Paul tells us about The Demonic Actions Of The Antichrist, which will be empowered by Satan. When this evil man is revealed on the world-stage, he will mesmerize people with his satanic power, evil signs, and false wonders. His activities will be designed to deceive true believers, and Revelation tells us he will come as a man of peace, but war, destruction, and death will follow in his wake. The adversary of God is Satan, and his nefarious activities are continuously at work to undermine all that is good. He seeks to twist the truth with demonic doctrines and introduce every disgusting, godless behavior into mankind's conduct, to violate the race that was created in the image of God. His final attempt to oppose the true and living God will be through the tyrannical reign of the coming Antichrist. 2 Thessalonians 2:9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the ministry and teachings of the apostle Paul, and for this comforting passage of Scripture which reminds us that lawlessness will continue to be restrained by the power of the Holy Spirit, as God's plans and purposes are forwarded through the prayers and praise of the Body of Christ. May the prayer of the righteous be effective, powerful, and continue to restrain the spread of lawlessness throughout the world. Thank You that the day is coming when Satan, sin, death, and hell, will be thrown into the lake of fire, and righteousness will be established forever. May we worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness and work the works of God in every area of our lives as we walk in spirit and truth for His greater glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Christ's single offering of Himself on the Cross has perfected all those who are being sanctified. Christ's One Sacrifice Has Made Perfect All Who Are Saved by grace through faith in Him. When our Savior cried out, "It is finished," the sacrifice for sin was completed. The work of the Cross was done. The payment for all sin had been paid in full, forever. Sadly, today there are some Christian denominations that continue to offer up the Lord Jesus as an ongoing, perpetual, sacrifice each time they celebrate His death on the Cross in their services. Sadly, these Christians are oblivious to the fact that: "By one offering, Christ has perfected for all time those who are sanctified." The Old Testament sacrifices produced a remembrance of sins, but Christ's once-for-all sacrifice on the Cross has provided remission of sins. Let us rejoice and be glad in the one finished sacrifice for sin and praise our Lord and Savior for His grace and favor. Hebrews 10:14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. Our United Prayer:
This verse has caused much controversy and is used as a proof-text that 'water baptism' is necessary for salvation, but that is not what this verse teaches. Neither water baptism nor spirit baptism saves us, but faith in Christ. However, spirit baptism is the immediate RESULT of faith in Christ and water baptism is the outward sign of the inner change of a redeemed life. We are saved by faith in Christ and are 'baptized' (placed into) the Body of Christ the moment we are saved. The meaning of 'baptizo' is 'placed into' but the transliteration of the Greek 'baptizo' to 'baptism' has incorrectly become associated with water baptism. We Are Justified By Faith and not by being baptized. But because we are justified we are immediately baptized in the spirit, which gives us a good conscience before God. God declares us righteous because of our faith in Christ and we are placed in Christ the moment we are saved by grace through faith in Him. Faith in Christ saves us from God's righteous judgement. Faith in Christ removes the filth of the flesh by the forgiveness of sin. The reference to 'the baptism which now saves us' in this verse, is not implying that 'water baptism' or 'spirit baptism' is the means of salvation. Spirit baptism is the result of faith in Christ while water baptism is a illustrative picture of the inner cleansing of the heart at salvation. When a man or woman turns from their sins to Christ and is cleansed by the washing of the water of the Word of God, the result is a good conscience before the Lord. 1 Peter 3:21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this truth that being baptized does not save us, but it is a wonderful outward expression of faith in Jesus and the answer of a good conscience toward God. Thank You that we have been identified with Christ’s death, burial, and Resurrection. Thank You that His death became our death, His burial became our burial, and that through Christ's Resurrection, we have received a good conscience before God. May we walk daily in newness of life for Your honor and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN. When the gifts of the Spirit are administered apart from love, they are of no value, either to the one who ministers or to the one to whom he is ministering. Speaking in tongues without love becomes a clamoring noise, and without love, prophesying or preaching, knowledge or faith, demeans the preacher, dishonors the Lord, and does not edify the saints. Indeed, should one feed the hungry, clothe the naked, house the destitute, tend to the sick, visit prisoners, educate the disadvantaged, or even become a martyr for one's faith; without love, we are told: "We gain nothing." Love of God and His Spirit Of Love pulsing through our lives and streaming out to others is the most important ministry any one of us can be called to undertake. The man or woman who sits at the feet of Jesus, drinking in His Word, being filled up with His love, will be those who, naturally and instinctively, love others as the overflow of Christ's love pours into those around them. Let us love one another as Christ loved us, for love is of God. 1 Corinthians 13:3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, may the love of God stream through us so that by Your Spirit, our lives may enrich the lives of others and glorify our Father in heaven. In Jesus' name, AMEN. God's light not only shines into our lives to guide our steps through the darkest pit-falls and the heavy gloom of this rebellious world-system, but His rays of holy light, cascade into our hearts and stream into our minds, like a cleansing flood, He alone is the Well-spring of godly wisdom and the Fountain-head of all spiritual understanding. He alone is the perfect Illuminator of spiritual discernment. No individual being, in heaven, on earth, or under the earth can lay claim to being the pure, unpolluted Light of all lights, God alone is eternal Light. In His loving-kindness, the Lord Jesus offers the light of His grace freely and abundantly to all who will turn to Him as their Son of righteousness. But light is not only given at the time of rebirth, its cleansing power and refining rays continue to shine into the deep recesses and secret corners of our minds, to expose those things that discredit His name, hinder our spiritual progress and disconnect us from our communion with our Heavenly Father. Let Us All Walk In The Light as He is in the light and may the light of His presence within each of our hearts, shine through our lives to proclaim to all we meet, the light of the glorious gospel of grace that has been shed abroad in our hearts and lives. John 9:5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Father, for lifting us out of the kingdom of darkness into Your kingdom of light. May the light of Your love and grace shine in and through us, and may we be used by You as a reflection of the true Light that lights all those that come into the world. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Down through the centuries of time, Old Testament saints and New Testament believers have found comfort and encouragement in the psalms of David. The yearnings of his heart, that pepper the pages of his psalms, often reflect the same pain and pressure that causes men and women today to cry out to the Lord in their silent distress. Such comforting words provide solace for the soul and inject the will to press on, knowing that God is gracious and faithful and He will avenge His people and protect us under the shadow of His wing. How important to stand on the many precious promises of God, and remember that He is the Rock on which to build, the Anchor that holds us steady, the Fortress in Whom we find protection and the Savior of our souls. In the uncertain times in which we live, we may well feel that we are a silent dove in a distant land, but when the enemy comes in like a flood, we know that God Will Raise Up His Standard and vindicate us in the sight of our enemies. God often permits the people who trample over us, fight against us all day long, and cause us to go through such misery, to test our faith and produce patient endurance. They may be people who openly oppose us, or they may be unsaved men and women in need of salvation, for whom we ought to pray. But whatever the reason we are being encompassed about, trampled over and oppressed, we have an assurance that God will avenge our cause and those that hate us will know that He has loved us with an everlasting love. Psalm 56:1 Be gracious to me, O God, for man has trampled upon me; Fighting all day long he oppresses me. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, what a joy it is to read through the book of Psalms and discover the jewels of encouragement and the gems of hope. Lord, You know those who are against us, especially those who are dead in sin, at enmity with You and in need of salvation. Father, we thank You that You are our God, and we trust You to bring us through the trials and temptations we are facing today, and pray that You would use us all as testimonies of Your great goodness and grace. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. This is a verse that rejoices our hearts, for this Throne of Grace is the eternal seat of the sovereign Lord of heaven and earth, Whose mercy-seat has covered our sins forever. It is by His grace that the veil of the temple that separates man from God, is torn in two from top to bottom, providing access into the presence of our heavenly Father. Through Christ, we have received the gracious invitation to come boldly to God's Throne of Grace, in time of need. In Christ, We Have Been Invited To Enter Confidently into the throne-room of heaven and boldly approach God's Throne, that we may obtain mercy, and find the grace we need to help in time of need. But let us never allow familiarity with the gospel of God to diminish our understanding of the tremendous privilege that streams, like a flood, to each of His children. This unfathomable privilege is awarded to ALL who have been saved by the blood of the Lamb and none are excluded. We are not directed to enter in the throne-room of heaven apprehensively oor timidly, but to approach His seat of divine power and glory with great boldness and confident assurance of a child approaching his beloved father, knowing that the sacrificed Lamb of God, offered by the High Priest of God for our sins, is sufficient. In this verse we have a peep into a heavenly vision of unapproachable Deity, enthroned on His seat of mercy and grace, granting peace, pardon, forgiveness, and confident access to all who believe on His name. By grace through faith in His death, burial, and Resurrection… Christ, the Lamb of God and great, High Priest of heaven, has flung wide the golden door into the Holiest of all to all who believe on His name. Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Father, for the grace and mercy that streams from Your throne of grace to us through Jesus Christ, our great High Priest and heavenly Savior. We praise and thank You for the goodness and grace You have extended to us. Were we too, will spend the rest of our days in grateful thanks, reverential praise, and expression our love for You. Thank You, in Christ’s name we Pray, AMEN. Jeremiah, like all those that are called, chosen, selected, or sent, was not to worry about the message he was to carry, because the words would be given from above at the right time. Jesus Himself reminded us that it is not we who speak when we are sent with God's words on our lips, but it is the Spirit of our Father Who speaks in us. The promises of God do not change, The Word Of The Lord Stands Fast Forever and ever. When the call of God is on a life, it does not matter about one's lineage, heritage, qualifications, suitability, skill, or education. God will equip each one for the task He has called them to do. May we be prepared to go in the strength of the Lord, no matter where He leads, knowing that His grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in weak and obedient vessels that trust in Him. Jeremiah 1:7 But the LORD said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Jeremiah who was used by You to tell both Jew and Gentile the message You gave Him to speak. Thank You that You can use anyone who is ready and willing to hear and answer Your call. You have promised that Your grace is sufficient when, in faith, we respond to Your leading and guidance. Lord, here we are, send us. In Jesus' name, AMEN. We are to stand fast in spirit and truth. We are to walk in the Spirit and be led by the Holy Spirit of God. When we submit to His leading and guidance we are delivered from a life of bondage to all sorts of fleshly inclinations and set free from legalistic practices, laid down by law. When we are not being led by the Spirit, we are walking in the flesh and not living as God desires, in spirit and in truth. The sad consequence of a fleshly Christian life means that we forfeit the beautiful freedom we have in Christ and place ourselves back under slavery to sin and legalistic practices, which rely on self and not on God. Although a fleshly Christian life and a legalistic leaning does not necessarily mean gross indulgence in sexual immorality and other unseemly practices, it does mean that our actions are in opposition to the will of God for our life. The appetites of the flesh are not necessarily sinful, but they do refer to any works of the flesh that spread out from the old sin nature (our fleshly heritage before we were born-again) rather than the new-life-in-Christ which we received as a result of our faith in His finished work on the Cross. Before we received the Freedom To Walk In Spirit And Truth through faith in Christ, we were in bondage to a law that we could not keep and a fleshly nature that we could not control. But the Law was a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ so that all that is of the fleshly 'self' could be put-away in Him and remain nailed to the Cross. That means all that is of Christ may manifest itself in our lives as we walk in spirit and truth and are led, moment by moment, by the Holy Spirit of God. Galatians 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that we have been saved by grace through faith in Christ and are no longer under the Law, but under grace. Thank You that our old, fallen natures were crucified with Christ on the Cross. We pray that it will remain nailed to the Tree so that we may be led by the Spirit of God and walk in newness of life. Keep us, we pray, from fleshly inclinations and legalistic practices that place us back in bondage to our old sin nature and the works of the flesh. Help us to live and move and have our beings in You so that we can say, "The life which we now live in the flesh we live by the faith of the Son of God, Who loved us, and gave himself for us." In Jesus' name, AMEN. Today, it is the gospel of the grace of God that The Church Has Been Called To Preach; a message that has been faithfully proclaimed for over 2000 years; a message that will continue to be taught to a lost and dying world until Jesus comes in the clouds to take us to be with Himself. This gospel proclaims that Christ died for the sins of the whole world; that He rose again, and is seated at the right hand of the Father so that whosoever believes on Him will not perish but have everlasting life. The gospel will continue to be taught until the end of this Church age until the time of Jacob's trouble, when the gospel of the kingdom will once again be proclaimed throughout the world. The gospel of the grace of God will continue to be proclaimed until the time of the end about which the Lord Jesus told His disciples on that day when He departed from the Temple and started to tell them what would be the sign of His coming at the end of the age. Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable. Thank You that we have been saved by grace through faith in Christ and that the day is coming when You will once again proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom to a lost and dying world. We pray that a multitude without number will be saved during that time of Great Tribulation. May You receive all the glory and praise due to Your name for Your goodness and grace to the children of men. In Jesus' name, AMEN. It is a fact of history that Christ is risen from the dead. The four Gospel writers each gave eyewitness accounts of the Resurrection. They did not outline great theological arguments or seek to justify what they were saying with persuasive words. They simply reported facts that were observed by the various people who were there The birth of Christianity is a well-documented historical fact that is grounded in Holy Scripture. Its members believe in the historical Cross of Christ, and have placed their faith in the sacrifice that He made on that Cross, which saves people from their sins. There were literal blood stains on the wooden Cross upon which our Savior hung. When the women came early in the morning to anoint the body of Christ, they found that the stone was rolled away. The stone was not rolled away to let Christ come out. It was rolled back by the two men in white to allow the world to enter, to see the empty tomb, and to wonder at the precious truth that: "Christ is risen from the dead." The devoted women need not have wondered how they were to remove the heavy stone that first Easter morning, for they were greeted with the joyful resurrection news. It is His sacrificial death and glorious Resurrection in which we place our faith, and those who have trusted Christ as Savior, have been given the Holy Spirit as God's guarantee that they will also receive a resurrection body. Let us have this confidence in Christ today! His resurrection identified Jesus of Nazareth as the Son of God. The Resurrection verified the truth of Scripture and guarantees our own future resurrection. It gives power to our Christian life in this world and guarantees our future inheritance with Christ in heaven, to Whom be all praise and glory, through time and into eternity. Matthew 28:6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for seeing past the evil of death and bringing about Christ’s Resurrection. Thank You that we no longer need to fear death and hell, as death itself has been swallowed up in Christ's victory. Thank You that we have been placed in Christ. Show us more of Him, we pray, and may we participate in the fellowship of His sufferings and the power of His Resurrection. May there be less of us and more of Him today, and may Christ shine through our lives as we go out into the world and tell of the wonders of His grace. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. The Lord Jesus Christ is the righteous One, the sinless Man that suffered and died for the sins of the whole world. He suffered and died once for all the unrighteous race of humanity so that He might bring all who believe in Him into eternal fellowship with God. As fully Man He was required to die as a man, body, soul, and spirit, but as the sinless Son of Man Who willingly gave His life as a ransom for many, He paid the purchase price that God demanded and received the full fury of God's wrath for those three devastating hours. His blood paid the price for all sin, and His sacrifice redeemed all Who would believe on Him. For 3 Days And Nights, His soul descended into the place of the dead in the bowels of the earth, and for 3 days and nights His body lay shrouded in a rich man's tomb. Christ was: "Put to death in the fleshly realm," when He shed His blood on the Cross for you and me, but He was quickened by the Holy Spirit and: "Made alive in the spiritual realm," with a body of flesh and bone so that we too might have newness of life in the spiritual realm, forever. 1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for suffering and dying for us and for the indescribable agony that You bore on the Cross when You were separated from the Father for the first time in eternity, for three dark hours. Thank You, Father, that Christ's sacrifice for sin was accepted so that by believing in Him we too might have life eternal. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. This verse follows arguably the most famous verse in the Bible which tells us: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16 tells us the glorious news of the gospel of salvation: "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved." But the subsequent verses give us context, meaning, and the gravity of the situation for those who chose not to trust in Jesus and accept His Free Gift Of Salvation: "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." Many see God as an angry God with a big stick, watching our every movement with a frown on HIS face, waiting in anticipation for us to do something wrong so that He can punish us. It was out of love and not cruelty that God sent His only begotten Son into the world to die for the sins of the world, and once a sinner believes this simple truth, he or she is immediately saved and is NOT condemned. But how many believers continue to live the life under a self-imposed condemnation, simply because they do not read God's Word or believe what they read. John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Lord, for the Bible and for the truth that it contains. Guide us into all truth, we pray, knowing that all we need for salvation and sanctification is contained within the pages of Scripture. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. In the fullness of time, God sent His only begotten Son to redeem those under the law, that we might be returned into fellowship with our Creator, and learn to worship our Father in heaven in spirit and in truth. God is Spirit, and they that worship God must worship Him in spirit and in truth. There must be no hidden agenda, selfish motive, religious pride, or hypocritical heart. Worship does not require a series of religious rituals nor is it necessary to have an appointed place of worship: "God is Spirit and they that worship God must worship Him in spirit and in truth." Though mankind looks on the outside and is drawn to religious acts of pomp and ceremony, God Looks At The Heart and delights in the one that approaches Him humbly, reverently, and in the fear of the Lord. God is close to those that are humble in heart; He saves those who are crushed in spirit; He feeds those that are hungry for Him, and streams of His living water will flow in and through the man or woman that worships the Lord in spirit and in truth. John 4:24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You sent Jesus to be born as a man Who was not subject to our limitations and fleshly leanings, but Who lived His life as the perfect example of a man. He walked in spirit and truth, trusting Your Word, in humble submission to the Holy Spirit, and in full dependence upon the Father. We pray that, like Christ, we may live our lives trusting Your Word, in submission to the Holy Spirit, and in total dependence upon You so that we may worship You as You desire, in spirit and in truth, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Had it not been for the Cross of Christ, the curse of the Law and God's condemnation would have remained on the entire sinful race of humanity. Had it not been that the world was reconciled back to God through Christ, we would have remained estranged forever from the One Who created us in His own image. But it is God in His grace Who reconciled the world back to Himself, through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. It is not faith in faith that saves us, but faith in the finished work of Christ on Calvary's Cross. Being reconciled to God does not depend on what we do but rests entirely on what Christ has already done, and by simply trusting that His finished work on the Cross has paid the full price for our sins, we are reconciled back to God; we have peace with Him and are regarded as blameless in His sight. We have God's assurance that He is satisfied with us because of Christ's sacrifice on the Cross. We Have Been Made A New Creation and positioned in Him so that when God looks at us He sees us clothed in Christ's righteousness. Let us never forget the enormous price that was paid in order for us to be reconciled back to God, and let us continue to boast about God through our Lord Jesus, He alone is worthy of our honor and praise. Romans 5:11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that in Your goodness and grace, You took the initiative to reconcile the world back to Yourself. Thank You that while we were still sinners You sent Jesus to die on the Cross for our sins so that by faith in His shed blood, we are reconciled to You, forgiven of our sins, and have been promised daily deliverance from sin's dominion in our lives. Praise His holy name, AMEN. |
