We Are To Look To Jesus And Make Our Requests Known

 Like so many of the Psalms that were penned by David, this is a song which begins with him bitterly lamenting over his mounting distresses and weeping over life's cruel circumstances. However, it ends with him glorifying God and offering thanksgiving and praise for His goodness and grace.
 David came to understand that we are to rejoice in the Lord and in the power of His might, and that in everything by prayer and supplication We Are To Look To Jesus And Make Our Requests Known to the Lord. God knows all our needs because He is our Father Who delights to hear His children come to Him in trusting dependence for every eventuality of life.
 Like David, we must never forget that our times are in His hands and that the day is coming when God will put all wrongs to right, and so we discover that David was finally able to confess: "But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness. My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, because He has dealt bountifully with me."
 One of the vital lessons of life we all must learn is that when God is given His rightful place in our lives, we too will be given the sufficient strength to live godly in Christ Jesus and will be enabled to rejoice in the Lord always and to sing praises to His holy name, even in our distresses and pain. He is our God and our hearts shall rejoice.
Psalm 13:5  But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.

Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we trust in You and thank You that there are no circumstances of life that You do not know about. Thank You that in all things we are more than  conquerors through Christ Who loved us and gave Himself for us. May we rejoice in the Lord at all times and in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, make our requests known to You for we have trusted in Your loving-kindness and our hearts rejoice in God our Savior. We Are His Mouthpiece Today

 In this passage, the Lord Jesus commissioned seventy of His disciples to travel throughout the land as His chosen representatives. They were sent to heal the sick, cure the lepers, raise the dead, and proclaim the gospel of the kingdom. They were to be Christ's spokespeople, and by declaring Jesus as Messiah, they proclaimed Him to be the holy One of God.
 Not everyone listened to Christ's words, and not everyone paid attention to the message of the seventy, but those who believed on Him were given the right to become sons of God. Those who accepted the message of the seventy, not only listened the words of Jesus but also to the Father Who sent Him.
 For over two thousand years, those in the Church of God have been Christ's witnesses to a lost and dying world. As members of His Body, We Are His Mouthpiece Today. We are His spokesmen, His ambassadors, His witnesses.
 The Church of Christ are ministers of the New and better Covenant and anyone who listens to us and heeds our words, not only listens to the Lord Jesus but also is listening to the Father in heaven Who sent Him.
 What a privilege and responsibility to discover that these words spoken to Christ's 70 disciples when commissioned by Him in Luke, are equally meaningful to ALL who have been called by His name: "The one who listens to you," Jesus said, "listens to Me, and the one who rejects you, rejects Me; and the one who rejects Me also rejects the One Who sent Me."

Luke 10:16 “Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”

Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, what an incredible privilege and responsibility to realize that as members of Christ's Body, we are His representatives on earth and that whoever rejects His people are also spurning the Lord Jesus and the Father Who sent Him. We pray that we may be careful to share the good news of the gospel of grace with those that are dead in their sins so that they may hear and believe in our Father in heaven, and Jesus Christ, Whom He has sent. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Our Daily Rededication Of Ourselves To His Service

 As believers, we have been called to personal consecration where our lives are a reflection of Christ and our bodies a living sacrifice to the Lord. It is our spiritual worship and our reasonable service to yield our-lives, our-selves, and our-bodies to the Lord; to consecrate ourselves to Him each day.
 The fallen world and sinful man is all too ready to squeeze us into its own mould and to cultivate in us a worldly mindset where God is far removed. Our own sin nature rebels against the Spirit Who dwells within, and the Spirit lusts against our fallen fleshly desires, but Paul warns us not to be conformed to this world but rather to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
 Our Daily Rededication Of Ourselves To His Service is a lifelong program which we need to choose consciously. Transformation does not take place overnight but is dependent on the hidden values of the heart being translated into the active practice of our thoughts and motives. It is a freewill choice to avoid that which is evil and to honor the Lord in beautiful thoughts, beautiful words, and beautiful deeds, by choosing to do what is right and holy.
 May we turn from the things of this world in willing submission to God's child-training program so that like the Lord Jesus Christ, we may live in spirit and truth, walk in the light as He is in the light, and love others as He loves us.

Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, too often our minds are deflected from Jesus onto the things of the world, especially when times are difficult, but we want to keep our minds on Christ, knowing that this is Your best will for us. We pray that we become increasingly aware of the Spirit's promptings in our lives, so that day by day, our hearts and minds may become saturated with the Lord Jesus. May His nature be reflected through our actions and attitudes and may our lives be transformed daily, by the renewing of our minds. Help us to prove in our lives what Your will for us is, and may we do only those things that are good, and acceptable and perfect in Your sight, for Your praise and glory, and for the benefit of others. This we ask in the name of Jesus, AMEN.

We Are Not To Become Judge Or Jury For The Sins Of Others

 The person who is most critical of the faults, failings, and sins of others is often guilty of the self-same faults, failings, and sins. 'When you point a finger of accusation at another, remember you have three fingers of accusation pointing right back at yourself,' as the old saying goes. How often the person who is severely judging his fellowman is the hypocrite who flatters themselves of their own uprightness.
 Christ alone had the right to judge the adulteress who stood before Him. He alone had the lawful right to condemn her for her sin. So, having finished writing in the sand, Jesus stood up and said to her, "Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?"  She said, "No one, LORD." This woman KNEW Jesus as her Savior, she addressed Him as LORD and no one can call Jesus "Lord" except by the Holy Spirit of God. " Jesus said, 'neither do I condemn you. Go, and sin no more.'"
 May we never forget that We Are Not To Become Judge Or Jury For The Sins Of Others, we are all sinners, and only by God's grace have we been forgiven of our sin. Oh, we can judge the false teaching through knowledge of Scripture, and we should judge ourselves, to see if we are walking in spirit and truth, but we are all sinners, saved by grace and for that, we praise and thank our heavenly Father.
 May the mind of Christ direct all our actions and attitudes, our thoughts and the motives of our hearts, and may His gracious attitude be reflected in us as we seek to live lives that are pleasing in His sight, for His praise and glory.

Our United Prayer:
Father God, thank You that our sins have been forgiven and there is no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus. We confess that there are times when we have been critical of others, forgetting that our own sins were scarlet, but by Your grace have been washed white as snow. Lord, we want to live lives that are pleasing to You. We pray that Your new-life within may display the grace and love of the Lord Jesus towards others, in the same way that You show Your grace and love towards us. In Jesus' name we all Pray, AMEN.

Our Job Is To Listen

 It is hard to imagine the grief that must have flooded the questioning hearts of Christ's disciples when they started to face the reality that Jesus was going away. For over three years He had been their Teacher and Protector, and His wisdom and grace was acknowledged by all, yet there was so much more that they needed to learn from Him.
 He had clearly told them that He was leaving them and was going back to the Father in heaven and yet, in His loving-compassion, the Lord Jesus reminded them that He would send the Spirit of truth to guide them into all truth.
 Our Job Is To Listen to what the Holy Spirit says to us, the one that is submissive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit is that one who will be guided into the truth of the glorious gospel of Christ and be given godly wisdom and discernment in every aspect of our lives.

John 16:13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. We pray that we may have ears that are spiritually attuned to hear His voice, eyes that are willing to see spiritual truths, hearts that are submitted to His guidance and correction, and teachable spirits so that in His grace we may be guided into all truth. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

We Honor Our Fallen Soldiers Today And Every Day!

 In those final hours just prior to His crucifixion on a cruel Roman cross, the Lord Jesus was with those that were his dearest and closest friends. Friends that had given up all to walk with Him; friends that had eaten, slept, and marched with Him for three and a half years; friends that had been given power to heal the sick, cast out demons, and raise the dead.
Christ was made an offering for sin, the sin of the whole world, but He willingly went to the Cross as a freewill offering of love for his friends who are His Body, the Church. And Christ loved and cherished the Church so dearly that He gave Himself for it: "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.." 
We are to abide in Him, reflect His love, and to love others in the same way that He loved us. It is only as we experience a deepening love for Jesus and all that He has done for us, that we can begin to allow His love to flow into us and through us to others. Then, in His power and strength, we too may lay down our lives in service to Him as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, in Jesus' name.
 Today, As so many have gone into battle for our freedom, willingly for the love of their country, they made the ultimate sacrifice for their friends (Country) We Honor Our Fallen Soldiers Today And Every Day! The Lord made the ultimate sacrifice for us on the wooden cross, our soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice for us as well. Let us all rememeber them in our prayers.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the greatest of all examples of love that Christ demonstrated toward us, in that while we were still  sinners, He died for us. No Part Of Salvation Can Ever Be Gained By Works

 The full price of salvation was paid by Christ on Calvary's Cross and can never be gained in any other way, except as a free gift of grace.  Salvation is accessed by faith in the finished work of Christ Jesus, the eternal Son of God and perfect Son of Man.
 No Part Of Salvation Can Ever Be Gained By Works, we can never be good enough to pay the price of sin. The amazing truth is that because of God's wonderful grace, sinners can be forgiven of their sins and saved from eternal death. This salvation is accessed by faith. We receive it when we believe. God gives us salvation when we trust in Jesus as Savior.
 We were SAVED / JUSTIFIED by grace when we first believed. But we are not only saved by grace, we are also to grow in this grace. We are to become mature in our Christian life by grace, to live by grace and not by works. We are to be SANCTIFIED by grace and not of works.
 No one but Christ can ever take credit for our salvation. No one can justify themselves, sanctify themselves, or glorify themselves. Every aspect of salvation is a gracious gift from God and can only be accessed by faith in Christ as Savior, not of works so that no one is able to boast.

Ephesians 2:9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing us to a deeper understanding, that in ourselves there is no good thing that is acceptable to You in our Christian life. It is only by grace through faith in the work of the Son of God Who loves us and gave Himself for us, that makes us acceptable to You. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

Let Us Seek To Live As He Lived

 Jesus set aside His own desires and needs because of His love for His Father in heaven, but He also had to suffer the reproaches of men because of His relationship to His Father. The reproaches of those who hated God were transferred as a concentrated loathing onto Christ Himself: "The reproaches of those who reproached You, fell on Me." Jesus was the chosen Servant of God who had to suffer the reproach of sinful men who transferred their reproach, loathing, and hatred of God, onto a reproach, loathing, and hatred of Christ.
 We are not of this world, we have been born again into a new creation and have been imputed with the nature of Christ. How fitting that we should become imitators of Him; not in what He did, He was truly God and we are not, but in how He lived, for He was truly Man and so are we. Jesus lived His life as unto to Lord and for the eternal benefit of all mankind. He only said and did those things that He heard from His Father and suffered reproach for His love of God and the people of God. Let Us Seek To Live As He Lived, in total obedience to God, only doing those things that we hear from Him, showing a zeal for His Word and a deep love for the Church, which is His Body, knowing that it is fitting and right that we should live  unto the Lord, for His greater glory.

Romans 15:3 For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.”

Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that Christ came to earth to become our Savior. Thank You that He did not come to earth to please Himself, but was prepared to say, "Thy will be done," even when He faced the Cross, knowing that it was only by His death that we can have life. Evildoers Do Not Embrace The Light Of Christ

 Most wicked acts are carried out secretively and under cover of darkness, even though evil men and women know that God exists, they do not honor Him as Lord, nor do they give thanks to Him for His daily provision. Instead, the thoughts of their hearts are only evil continuously and their lives become futile and worthless.
 Such ungodly people suffocate their God-given conscience and sear their sense of right and wrong. They willfully ignore the clear evidence of His almighty power, which is displayed in the heavens above, and they refuse to acknowledge the clear testimony on the earth below. The result is the rejection of God's gracious offer of salvation by grace through faith in Christ.
 The pointless reasoning and silly speculations of these ungodly men and women, allow their foolish hearts to become corrupted by Satan and darkened by sin. Their lustful leaning and sinful habits, cause them to hate the Light of the glorious gospel of Christ.
 John explains that everyone who engages in evil perversion and sinful wickedness, hates the Light. Evildoers Do Not Embrace The Light Of Christ. They shrink-away from the Word of truth, for fear that their deeds will be exposed.
 As children of the light, let us not only walk in the light of His love, but be used as His channels of blessing and hope to others knowing that: "To all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God."

John 3:20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.

Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we increasingly recognize the evil and wickedness in which this world is drowning. Lord, we pray that people would not believe the lie that they have committed a sin too great to be forgiven. We pray they would come to the Light of the World, Jesus Christ, and be saved by trusting in Him, because in Him alone are the words of eternal life and the forgiveness of sins. Use us as lights in the world to point lost men and women to Jesus. Help us to shine the light of Your love into many hearts every day, knowing that the time for Your return draws ever closer. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

The Superabundance Of Christ In Our Thoughts

 We must stop looking to other people, to other ministries, to the church, to the philosophy of others, and especially to our own understanding, if we are to destroy the arguments, perception, and pretensions that set themselves up as the authority of God and which so often become an authority against God.
 Our spiritual safety and strength does not lie in our own knowledge or the wisdom of others but lies in identifying and eliminating those thoughts that have anything to do with putting someone or something in the place of Christ, in our lives and our minds. God may use our own knowledge and the wisdom of others but only so far as Christ is preeminent in our hearts, for the measure of our own self-respect, esteem, and wisdom lies in inverse proportion to that of Christ.
 Every notion that invades from the outer, and every thought that is conceived within, is to be taken captive so that we are in obedient submission to Him and not to our own arguments, perception, and pretensions. Taken captive implies a conscious decision to bind that thought and march it, handcuffed, to Christ, where it cannot escape and re-enter our imaginings.
 The more we think of the Lord Jesus, the less we think of ourselves. The greater He is the central focus of our thoughts, the more we have captivated every imagination in obedience to Christ. The Superabundance Of Christ In Our Thoughts means there is less influence from others and less inflation of self.

Loving Father, too often our thoughts are not kept in captivity to obey You. Help us to become more and more captivated with Christ so that all else melts away as we gaze on the beauty of His presence within our hearts. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

He Will Hear Our Prayers

 It is often taught by compromised Christians, false teachers, and prosperity preachers, that if we shout loud enough, pray long enough, and demand forcefully enough, God has to give us whatever we demand or He is being dishonest! This is an unscriptural practice called 'positive confession'.
 The simple beauty of the truth in these verses has been twisted by unscrupulous people to imply that God is at our beck and call and must give us everything we want. Prosperity teachings have sprung up and unscriptural denominations have been formed to push this 'new age' practice of 'positive declaration' in 'The Word of Faith movement'. 
 When all the biblical criteria for prayer are met, God will most certainly answer prayer and in these precious verses, the Lord lays out the principles in His model prayer. We are to address our Father in heaven and honor His holy name. We are to pray for His kingdom to come and His will to be carried out on earth as it is in heaven. We are to pray for our daily food and to ask forgiveness for any sin, and we are also to be prepared to forgive others, knowing how much our Savior has forgiven us.
 When we carry out His will and seek first His kingdom and righteousness, He Will Hear Our Prayers, because we will be praying into His will. When we honor our Heavenly Father and proclaim His sovereign authority, His power, and His glory, we have an assurance that He is a God Who hears and answers prayer.
The more earnestly we ask, seek, and knock on heaven's door, the more we will be given the strength to fulfill His Word and remain in the center of His will.

Matthew 7:8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for laying out so clearly the principles and practices that should govern our lives as we die to self and live for God. Thank You for Your loving promise that You will answer everyone who asks, seeks, and knocks. Lord, at times we have tried to do things in our own strength, only to fail. Forgive us, Lord. Give us understanding hearts and the desire to live, work, and pray, in a manner that honors Your holy name. We praise and thank You that You are our sole Provider. May we pray according to Your will, seeking to grow in grace and in knowledge of the Lord Jesus, and submitting to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

We Are Not To Become Discouraged Or Anxious

 We Are Not To Become Discouraged Or Anxious. We are not to allow ourselves to become wearied or fearful. Although our physical bodies are growing older and we notice that our outer being is progressively decaying, nevertheless, our inner self is being renewed, day after day
 The new life we received at salvation is being transformed into the image and likeness of Christ, as we mature in the faith, grow in grace, and gain a more intimate knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
 It is only by God's grace we have received mercy for help in time of need, so we should not lose heart, knowing that those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength and mount up with wings like eagles: "They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint." God has promised to strengthen the weary through His sufficient grace, for we have put on the new self, which is being renewed to a true knowledge of Christ, according to the image of the One Who created us.

2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, what a wonderful hope we have in Christ that, day by day, we are being renewed in our inner being, even though we can see our outward body is growing older. Thank You for our present position in Christ and for the glorious future destiny we have in heaven. We pray that we will stand strong in the faith and press on for the upward call of God in Christ Jesus, as we watch for His return. How we thank and praise You, in Jesus' name, AMEN.

A Family Relationship With God

 As Christians, we have a been brought into A Family Relationship With God through our union with Christ, by faith. But we are expected to take responsibility for walking in spirit and truth, living as unto the Lord, trusting in the Word of God, depending on our Heavenly Father, submitting to the Holy Spirit, abiding in Christ, and appropriating all that is ours in Him, by faith.
 Righteous living depends on right thinking, and God has promised to keep in perfect peace the one whose mind stays on Him. He promised that He would garrison our heart, our mind, our emotions, and our innermost thoughts, as we focus our prayers and praises on Him with thanksgiving!
 We are so designed, that taking every thought captive to Christ and fixing our mind on Him is a conscious choice, which we all have to make when problems and difficulties arise in our mind, or when life's circumstances weigh heavily upon our heart.
 When anxious thoughts start to flood our minds or when we are tempted to sin, our immediate reaction should be to look to Jesus and to remember who we are in Christ. But too often, we allow anxious thoughts to drag us down into deep despair, but controlling our mind is a conscious choice. Controlling our thoughts is a deliberate decision of our self-will.
 Let us choose to focus our mind on that which is right and pure, lovely and of good repute, all these attributes are the fruit of the Spirit and point us to Christ Who alone is good and true, honorable and pure, righteous, virtuous, and praiseworthy.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, keep us, we pray, from anxious thoughts. Help us to garrison our thoughts of life on all that is commendable and good, and help us to keep the eyes of our hearts fixed on Jesus. May we make conscious choices to dwell on those things that are worthy of praise, knowing that the light of Christ and the darkness of all that is evil, cannot abide together. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Not By What We Do, But Faith In What Christ Has DONE

 Being declared righteous in God's eyes is indeed an impossibility, for all men and women are sinners and the wages of sin is death. But what is impossible with man is possible with God, He sent His only begotten Son to be the sacrificial offering for our sin. He paid the price of death for us so that all who believe on Him would not be condemned, but become inheritors of the kingdom of God. He swept away the impossible obstacles that separated fallen man from a holy God. All these things, though impossible for fallen mankind to DO, were all DONE by Christ.
 Praise God that we gain salvation, union with God, and fellowship with our Heavenly Father, Not By What We Do, But Faith In What Christ Has DONE.

Luke 18:27 Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the incredible gift of salvation that You have offered us through faith in Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ. We are humbled by Your love and grace, and cannot comprehend how You could love us so much that You sent Your only begotten Son to die in our place. We are forever grateful for His sacrifice and thank You for the impossible being made possible. Help us to never take for granted the gift of salvation and to remember the great cost it took for fallen mankind to be made righteous in Your eyes. Increase our faith, and fill us with a longing to share the good news with others, that they too may be saved. Thank You for the privilege of being able to approach Your throne and to call You Father. We are ever grateful for all that You have done. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

Ask In Faith Without Doubting

  James does not encourage believers to cry out for God's help or His strength in their desperate time of need, nor does he advise them to request an escape from the fiery trial they are facing. James does not even plead for an easy release from the various trouble that is pursuing their path. He is wanting these believers to come to a deeper knowledge of the Lord and a more secure trust in God, and so he exhorts them to pray for wisdom. He knows that if they pray for wisdom, then in their trial they will learn the precious lesson that the Lord desires to teach them; and God gives liberally to all who simply ask Him. But there is a condition in this prayer request for wisdom in times of trouble: "Let him Ask In Faith Without Doubting," for the enemy of all prayer is unbelief.
 How important that our prayers are not a ritual or a duty, but are offered to the Lord in faith. How important to pray in faith, expecting the Lord to answer our request. Prayer that is offered up in unbelief causes a man or woman to be tossed hither and thither by doubts and uncertainty about God's goodness and grace. But the walk of faith is a life that is lived trusting God in the midst of difficulties, holding fast to His precious promises, and knowing that God's Word stands fast for ever and ever.

Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that we are encouraged to come boldly to Your throne of grace for help in times of need. Help us to pray in complete faith to You and teach us to always pray in Your will. May we also be reassured that although nothing is impossible for You, sometimes Your answer is no but always for our greater good and Your greater glory. May we never doubt Your goodness or strength, and may we always rely on Your ultimate wisdom. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.
