PRAYING TOGETHER AS A FAMILY

Let Us Draw Near To God

5/31/2026

The plans, privileges, prosperity, and pride of the wicked will one day evaporate like the morning mist, while those that trust in the Lord will be held steady by the strong arm of our God, guided by His counsel, protected by His grace, and at last received into glory.
We live in a day and age when to all intents and purposes, it appears that the wicked are prospering abundantly, while the prayers of the godly seem to be rising to a steel sky and a closed heaven. Nevertheless, we have our Lord's assurance that the sufferings of this present life cannot be compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us.   We have a blessed hope that is anchored in Christ and an inheritance that is secured for us in heaven.
Let Us Draw Near To God, catching hold of His eternal perspective and trusting in His unfailing love with all of our hearts. Let's not allow the circumstances that surround us and the apparent successes of the ungodly to cause us to doubt the goodness of God. But rather, let us declare the wonderful works of Him Who has saved us by grace through faith in Christ, adopted us into His own family, and covered us in Christ's robe of righteousness.

Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this reminder in the Psalms, that wicked men and women are on a slippery slope to destruction, unless they turn from their wicked ways and trust in Christ for salvation. Thank You, Lord, for Your never-failing goodness and grace towards us. May we draw ever closer to You and declare the wonderful works of God in the land of the living, knowing that our times are in Your hands and our future is secured for us in heaven. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

We Are Christians Because We Believe

5/30/2026

We Are Christians Because We Believe that Christ died and rose again, and that His death was a substitutionary death. We believe that He paid the price for sin so that all who believe in His name would be saved. He paid the purchase price for our redemption so that those who believe in His name become God's own purchased possession.
Our faith is not a crutch as some unbelievers like to say, but our faith is based on the facts of God's inerrant Word; truths that God has given to us about His character and plan, and truths that are rooted and grounded in historical events.
The significance of Christ's death, burial, and Resurrection for the believer is unprecedented. As God's purchased possession, we too have died with Christ and rise into newness of life. When He comes to claim the Church as His Bride, we will all be changed into a body that is likened unto His glorious body.

1 Corinthians 15:3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, sometimes we are so familiar with the truth of Scripture, that we do not adequately take in its enormous significance. Help the truth of Jesus' death and Resurrection permeate deep into our hearts, You are good and gracious, and Your mercy towards us is everlasting. We love You, Lord. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

JESUS Is Our Friend

5/29/2026

We are instructed that in order to have friends, we need to show friendship towards other people, while in the latter, we are informed that having a lot of 'fair-weather friends' can make us vulnerable, because their loyalty towards us may fluctuate with feelings or change with circumstances. We would be wise to heed the sound advice contained in this Scripture, and apply it to our own lives and the friendship choices we make.
Such friends are rare indeed, but even the sting of death can remove such a good and loyal friend from our lives in a split second of time. But whether we are graced with a loyal friend or not, every believer in Christ can state with certainty that JESUS Is Our Friend that sticks closer than a brother or sister.
He is the Companion Who will never leave us nor forsake us. He is the Comforter that will always be there in those times of deep sadness. He is the One who will always support and encourage us, help and counsel us, comfort and warn us and He is the One Whose unconditional love will be poured out upon us without measure, through time and into eternity.

Proverbs 18:24 One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, how we praise and glorify Your name, that the Lord Jesus is our best and perfect friend. Thank You that in Him, we live, and move, and have our beings. May we live and work to Your praise and glory, in the power of the Holy Spirit, through time and into eternity. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

The Qualities Of A True Friend

5/28/2026

The Qualities Of A True Friend or a beloved brother are best exemplified in the life of the Lord Jesus. A true friend loves at all times, in good circumstances and during times of greatest difficulty and hardships, and Jesus reminded us that the greatest of all love is expressed when a friend is prepared to give up his own life for that of his friend or to forego his own desires and needs for the sake of his dearly beloved friend.
Loyalty in friendship is a grace that becomes all the more precious when, despite intensifying hardships, a friend is there to comfort and help. The Scriptures remind us never to abandon a friend, nor even to forsake the friends of your father or mother. All true friendships are of great value, but it is a double blessing when friendships traverse the generations.
Wise counsel and spiritual encouragement is the calling-card of the friend that loves at all times, and loyalty, sensitivity, and a genuine interest in the other are the qualities of the brother that travels through adversity with us. May we take on these qualities in our dealings with our friends, and praise God when we discover them to be the qualities that characterize our own friends and brothers and sisters-in-Christ.

Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.
Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the dear friends that You have brought into our lives and for the love and comfort that we have received from them over the years. We pray that we would develop the many qualities of genuine friendship, and that You would use us to be friends to others in their times of need. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Submit To His Guidance

5/27/2026

This parable reminds us of a truth that all believers would do well to recognize, which is the Holy Spirit equips us all with gifts, talents, abilities, and works which God has foreordained that we should do. The Spirit chooses to empower all believers in a way that is unique and special to each one of us. He equips us to carry out His perfect will in each of our lives if and when we are willing to Submit To His Guidance, as we walk in spirit and truth, as we abide in Christ, and let Him live His perfect new life-in-Christ in us.
The 'loss' mentioned here most certainly does not refer to a loss of salvation, for the gifts and calling of God will never be revoked and our eternal life is a gift that can never, ever be taken away. But we need to understand that those who use their God-given gifts and abide in Christ, by humbly submitting to the Holy Spirit, will be given even more. BUT those who do not use their God-given gifts, or who undertake works in the power of their fleshly nature, will quench (or grieve) the Holy Spirit with their conduct, and even the little they have will be taken away from them at the believer's judgement seat of Christ.
Let us all live in spirit and truth so that we bring forth fruit, more fruit, much fruit, to the glory of God the Father.

Luke 19:26 “He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away.
Our United Prayer:
Loving Lord, thank You for the gifts, talents, abilities, and works which You have prepared for us to do. May they increase, enlarge, and overflow in abundance, as we seek to live our lives in spirit and truth. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

We Serve A Good And Faithful God

5/26/2026

How often the 'BUTS' of the Bible stand in stark contradistinction between the faithfulness of God and His great goodness, and the trite unbelief of His children and their sinfulness. We praise God for the many, eternal 'BUTs' in the Bible. We rejoice for the glorious 'BUT' in this verse, where we read: "BUT the Lord is faithful, Who shall establish you, and guard you from the evil one.
We Serve A Good And Faithful God Who has promised to work His good work in the lives of all His children and establish each one in every good work and word. But we must be aware that we have a powerful enemy who desires our downfall and seeks to shipwreck our faith. No wonder Paul was keen to remind a little group of believers that God is faithful to guard us against the evil one; that old serpent who is called the devil and Satan.
Sin and death and Satan's snares have no power over us. The enemy was defeated at Calvary and God will not allow us to be tested above that which we are able to bear, but will provide us with an escape route from all the worldly principles and fleshly practices that are dangled before us as bait, to draw us back into the evil, world system.
God knows our weakness and He understands that our faith may fail:

2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.
Our United Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithful promises.. to strengthen, establish, and protect us, even when our faith falters and we prove faithless and false to You. Keep us mindful of this truth and guide us in the choices we must make today. Use us as instruments of Your grace and keep us from all evil, so that we may grow in grace and in knowledge of You, and in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Whose name we Pray, AMEN.

Remembering Our Fallen Heroes- Memorial Day 2026

Remembering Our Fallen Heroes- Memorial Day 2026
Christ was made an offering for sin, the sin of the whole world, but He willingly went to the Cross as a freewill offering of love for his friends who are His Body, the Church. And Christ loved and cherished the Church so dearly that He gave Himself for it: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down His life for His friends."
As there are many that they lay down their lives for the Freedoms we have in the United States Of America. We honor our God today and every day we have been gifted here on earth and honor those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom to worship our Lord. While we enjoy a day with our families and friends, let us all never forget who we are  and share our love with those in need and are mourning.
We are to abide in the Lord, reflect His love, and to love others in the same way that He loved us. It is only as we experience a deepening love for Jesus and all that He has done for us, that we can begin to allow His love to flow into us and through us to others. And then, in His power and strength, we too may lay down our lives in service to Him as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, in Jesus' name.

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the greatest of all examples of love that Christ demonstrated toward us on the cross and those that sacrificed their lives for our freedoms, in that while we were still sinners, He died for us as did many soldiers. He has called us to be members of His Church and to love others as He has loved us. May we love and comfort others in His strength and power, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

We Are To Be On Our Guard

5/24/2026

As children of God, we have the Holy Spirit of God, and it is in Him that we have complete victory over the world, with abiding and eternal results. Nevertheless, We Are To Be On Our Guard against the many false and deceptive spirits that are in the world today and are called upon to test each one, however benevolent or enticing they may appear, not all are of God.
The Testing Of False spirits is closely linked with discerning false prophets, false doctrines, and deceptive teachers. Let us never forget that many who profess Christianity today do not have a saving faith, but are used by Satan to teach a false gospel and to lead many astray. Such false teachers are of the world and preach from a worldly wisdom, and they deliver a dangerous and false gospel.
Let us never forget that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. Let us be ever mindful that they are from the world and so they speak as if they are from the world, and the world listens to them. Let us test every spirit to see if it is of God, for the enemy as a roaring lion prowls around seeking whom he may devour, but we have the mind of Christ.

1 John 4:5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them.
Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us to understand the truth that we are in the world but not of the world. May we not get discouraged when the world seems to love its own but hates us. Keep us from any form of worldly philosophy or from trying to please those in the world. May we never yearn for affection or adoration from the world, but may we set our minds on Christ Who loves us with an everlasting love. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

Multiplied Calls To Prayer

5/23/2026

Multiplied Calls To Prayer are found throughout Scripture, and many men and women in the pages of the Bible are also found travailing in prayer to God. We are to pray without ceasing, to pray everywhere, and to pray in spirit and truth. We are called to pray for kings and rulers, and also to pray for the saints who are the Body of Christ (all those that are born from above, as children of God). Christ Himself was discovered throughout His earthly life in earnest prayer to His Heavenly Father, and we would do well to take heed of the reason for prayer.
To pray in the Spirit is only possible when we are living in unbroken fellowship with the Father, for a life that is living, walking, and praying in spirit and truth is one is submitted to His leading and guidance, for the one that lives in helpless submission and dependent upon the Holy Spirit, is the one that truly prays in the spirit.
Further, we are not to limit our prayers to those things that we consider appropriate, but we are to pray about all things with every kind of prayer, in the same helpless dependence upon God, knowing that He is not only willing and powerful enough to answer all our pleadings but are trusting Him, in His wisdom, to do only that which is best for us.

Ephesians 6:18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints
Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, prayer is such a precious gift that You have given to us. Help us to live and pray in attitudes of helpless dependence on You. May we be alert and diligent in every kind of prayer. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

A New Life In Christ

5/22/2026

Paul did not want this important epistle to be lightly received, and so he laid emphasis on his calling, his apostleship, and his service for the Lord. But more than this he called upon the eternal God of the universe, Creator of heaven and earth, as witness to his own deep and loving concern for their spiritual wellbeing.
Like all who trust in Jesus Christ, Paul had been given a new nature, A New Life In Christ which he was delighted to spread the good news of the glorious gospel of Christ in spirit and truth, and which loved these believers with a Christ-like love.
Paul's love for these believers was reflected in his deep and earnest concern for them, as he constantly made mention of them to the Lord in prayer.
Let us seek to develop the same deep and loving concern for all our brothers and sisters in Christ, as we, like Paul, lift them up in earnest prayer to our Father in heaven.

Romans 1:9 God, whom I serve in my spirit in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you
Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, develop in us deep and earnest Christ-like love for all our brothers and sisters in Christ. May we love them, support them, and pray for them always. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

The Blessings We Need

5/21/2026

Christ uses the parable of the widow woman and the unjust judge to encourage us to be continually in prayer, to pray without ceasing, and to remain in constant communion with the Lord as we petition Him for The Blessings We Need from His gracious hand, especially when those blessings seem to be delayed.
This is not a teaching that describes a God as a worldly judge Who is reluctant to bestow His blessings, but rather a generous Father Who gives good gifts to all His children. Nor are we likened to some lonely, poverty-stricken, unsupported widow, for we are children of God, beloved of the Father, accepted in the Beloved, and inheritors of the kingdom of heaven.
We do not have to grovel for meager scraps at the bench of an unbelieving judge, we have free and open access into the throne of grace and the riches of His love in Christ Jesus so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
His delay is not inactivity or disinterest, but a preparation to make all things work together for good, to those that love God and are called according to His purpose. Will not God grant justice to His elect who cry out to Him day and night?

Luke 18:7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us to maintain trusting attitudes of prayer, knowing that any perceived delay is Your willing preparation. Thank You that You are holy and righteous and will avenge Your elect and make all things right in Your own perfect timing. Thank You that You are our Father, and we are Your children. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

Prayer And Praise

5/20/2026

Prayer And Praise are two vital elements in the Christian life, and yet they are perhaps the two essential components of a believer's spiritual walk that are most frequently lacking.
There is much need for prayer and intercession in this suffering world, and there is much cause for praise and rejoicing, for God's gracious sufficiency. We should pray to Him continually and praise him all day long. While Paul calls us to rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, and in everything to give thanks, this  is God's will for each one of us.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His arm is ever-ready to provide the help we need, and His ear is always open to our cry, but He wants us to approach Him through earnest prayer and cheerful praise so that our faith in Him and our trust in His Word may germinate, grow, blossom, and bud - and bring forth much fruit to His praise and glory, as we journey through life to our promised heavenly home.

James 5:13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.
Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the encouragement and truth that is contained in this short but important little verse. May we seek You in all life's needs and necessities through prayer and intercession, and may we rejoice in Your never-failing faithfulness and unchanging goodness and grace. Keep us low at the Cross and rejoicing in our hearts for all that You are to us and to all who have trusted in You for their salvation. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.

Pray Without Ceasing

5/19/2026

Close to the top of his list of godly instructions on how to live a fruitful Christian life is: "Pray Without Ceasing;" pray continuously, pray and keep on praying. Prayer is fellowship with the Father and was a vital part of Paul's own Christian walk.
The man or woman who turns often to prayer and maintains a worshipful attitude of prayer towards the Lord, is one who comes boldly to the throne of grace to offer up prayer and praise, supplication and intercessions, petitions and thanksgiving. Prayer demonstrates a humble dependence upon God, for prayer is the breath of the dependent soul that touches the heart of the Father.
The praying man and woman is the one who does not rely on his or her own strength, but trusts in the Lord with all his or her heart for all his or her needs. The man or woman of prayer is one who desires to maintain close and intimate fellowship with the Lord Jesus. Let us live in an attitude of prayer, no matter what activity we are engaged in.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You for all Your loving-kindness for us. Thank You that we can come to You in prayer any moment of the day. Help us to come boldly to Your throne of grace, where our prayers are like sweet smelling fragrance to You as we Unite In Prayer. Keep us humble before Your throne. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

We Have His Promise

5/18/2026

We are all reminded in many passages in Scripture that we must be watching and waiting in expectation for Christ's return, knowing that He will come for us in the Rapture before this terrible time of Tribulation, which will overtake an unbelieving world who are walking in darkness. But nothing should come as a surprise to those that trust in God and are looking for the blessed hope - the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We may not know the time that the God the Father will send God the Son to rescue the Body of Christ (the Church) from the wrath that is to come, but We Have His Promise that we are not appointed to wrath, but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. At that time, our perishable body will put on the imperishable and our mortal body will put on immortality.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that we who have trusted Jesus as Savior are not appointed to wrath, but to be rescued from the time of Tribulation that will come on an unsuspecting world as a thief in the night. May we be ready and prepared for that glorious day when Christ comes to rescue His Church, and takes us to be with Himself into heaven. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

Our Work Of Faith

5/17/2026

Paul prayed often for the saints in Thessalonica and gave joyful thanks as he recalled, unceasingly, the godly characteristics they displayed that so honored the Lord. He thanked God for their work which was energized by faith, their service which was motivated by love, and their unwavering hope in the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Faith that justifies is a work of the Spirit in the heart of a man or woman who has trusted Christ's finished work on the Cross. Faith that justifies takes place at one moment in time, when Christ is made the object of our faith.
Laboring in love is prompted by the knowledge that all we are and all we have is from the Lord. The more we know of God's goodness and grace towards us, the more we are prompted to labor in love for the Lord.
The third virtue of the Thessalonians was the steadfastness of their future hope in the Lord Jesus. When with patience, we steadfastly hope in the Lord and stand firm on the promises of God, we have an inner-assurance in His Word of truth, for God has placed His Word above His holy name. Our steadfast hope in the Lord is the unshakable conviction that the Bible is sure.
 May
remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father. May Our Work Of Faith be actively dependent on Him. May our labor of love become a living sacrifice that honors our Father in thought, word, and deed, and may the steadfastness of our hope in Christ Jesus our Lord, stimulate others to work the works of faith, to labor in love, and to remain steadfast in the blessed hope we have in the Lord Jesus, in the presence of our God and Father.
1 Thessalonians 1:3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father,
Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the reminder we gain from the lives of the Thessalonian Christians whose work of faith, labor of love, and steadfast hope in the Lord Jesus Christ, is such a beautiful example of Godly living that honors You. We pray that we may grow in grace and in knowledge of Christ Jesus our Savior and do all for Your greater praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.
