We often use the terms; justification, sanctification, and glorification to explain a believer's initial salvation (justification), ongoing maturity as we walk with the Lord in our lives on earth (sanctification), and Our Wonderful Eternal State In Heaven, when we see Jesus and will be like Him (glorification). But these terms can also be explained using the three tenses of sanctification. 1. We are positionally sanctified the moment that we place our faith in the Lord. This is our initial salvation, when we are set apart for the Lord. 2. For the rest of our lives, we are being progressively sanctified as we mature in the faith, grow in grace, and submit to the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit within our lives. 3. Our complete and final sanctification will only be attained when we take up our eternal position in heaven when, through death or the Rapture, we will reach full and perfect sanctification. This is when the God of peace Himself sanctifies us entirely. What a glorious promise! May we walk worthy of our calling and look to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our salvation. May we look forward to that day, at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, when our whole spirit and soul and body will be preserved complete and without blame, sanctified entirely by God Himself. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that we are positionally sanctified in Christ and are being progressively sanctified, as we grow in grace in the power of the Spirit. We look forward to the day when the God of Peace will sanctify us entirely. May our spirits, souls, and bodies, be preserved complete and without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We ask this not for us only, but for all Your children. In Jesus' name w Pray, AMEN.

As Church-age believers, we are blessed to have the whole counsel of God in the completed canon of Scriptures, which continues to open our understanding to God's eternal plans and purposes. Plans for His people, for the world He created, and for those of us who are His Church-age children. But men of God like Jeremiah, who prophesied of many future events, were often ignorant of the meaning of their predictions, and soon after he purchased the land as the Lord had instructed him, he prayed for understanding: "Oh, Lord God! You Yourself made the heavens and earth by Your great power and with Your outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for You!" Like Jeremiah, we too live among a generation that calls evil good, and good evil. The Word of the Lord is rejected and ridiculed on all sides, and soon a day is coming when the world in which we live will be catapulted into a time of Great Tribulation (the Time of Jacob's Trouble), when God's wrath will be poured out on a world that has rejected the Truth and refused God's saving grace through faith in Christ. But like Jeremiah, we must remain faithful to our calling during our time on earth. We are to stand firm in these evil days and hold fast to the truth. We are to trust in the Lord with all our hearts, even when we do not understand what is happening in this fallen world and why we have to endure these evil days. We are to follow Jeremiah's example and Hold Fast To That Which Is Good, looking to Jesus as we stand on the promises of God. Jeremiah 32:17 “Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. Our United Prayer:
Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You. Praise Your holy name, AMEN. The death, burial, and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, are the critical elements of salvation. Nothing but faith in the Person and Work of Jesus is sufficient to reconcile us back to God and save us from our sin. The key truths of the gospel are believing that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures. Jesus was born into the race that He, Himself, created, in order to pay the price for our sins, a price we could never pay. The Holy Spirit of the resurrected Christ dwells in our mortal bodies so that although we remain in perishable bodies of flesh and blood, We Live By Faith In The Son Of God so that it is not I that lives but Christ that lives in us. Christ, Who loves us and gave Himself for us. Because of our faith in Him, we will one day exchange perishable bodies for imperishable ones. This which is sown a perishable body of flesh and blood, will one day be raised an imperishable body of flesh and bone, a body like unto His glorious body. God in His wisdom and grace, did not leave our new life in Christ to overcome alone. It is by faith that the world is overcome. It is by faith that the flesh is overcome and it is by faith that the devil is overcome. When we were baptized into Christ as His newly born-again child, God sent His eternal, permanently indwelling, life-giving Holy Spirit, to become our life-Guide and our soul-Helper. Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Father, for Your Holy Spirit dwelling in us Who was sent to lead and guide us and all believers through this earthly life, and Who lives in us. Teach us to listen to His voice and recognize His promptings. We pray that, more and more, Your will, not be done until we can say, "the life that I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me." In Jesus' name, AMEN. The first eleven verses of this chapter give important information about the prophesied 'Day Of The Lord' which will come upon the inhabitants of the earth like a thief in the night. 'The Day of the Lord' is that coming time of terrible Tribulation. This passage gives important information about the Day of the Lord, but encourages each member of Christ's Body with some reassuring information about the Rapture of Church-age saints, which takes place at the end of this age before the seven year Tribulation Period begins. This current age is called 'the Dispensation of the Grace of God' about which Paul teaches, in greater detail, in the book of Ephesians. Jesus died for us. He paid the price for our sins. The wrath of God was poured out on Him in our stead so that whether we are still alive on earth when He comes in the clouds, or cold in our graves, we are not appointed to wrath. We are not appointed to go through the Great Tribulation. Instead, we will be taken to live to be with Him, at the Rapture of the saints. No wonder Paul exhorted the Thessalonians, and us.. to "encourage one another with this truth and build up one another, with this heartening and joyful revelation - just as you all are doing." 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, what a wonderful message is contained in this beautiful passage of Scripture. Thank You that You caused Paul to teach this glorious truth so clearly and simply.. Thank You that we are members of Christ’s Body and are not appointed to wrath, because Jesus took all the punishment that we deserve upon Himself so that we might be forgiven of our sins and not fall under Your righteous judgement. We pray that as the day for Christ’s return approaches, when He will gather His saints to Himself, that we will be ready. Thank You that this day will not come on us like a thief in the night, as it does for the unbeliever. Thank You for telling us the end from the beginning. Help us to share this message of comfort and hope with those that are saved and those that are lost in their sin, for Your greater glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN. The Cross is before the crown, and earthy pain and human sorrow precedes our heavenly reward and eternal joy. Christ Patiently Endured The Cross For The Joy That Was Set Before Him, and likewise His disciples must follow in their Master's footsteps. Since Christ suffered in the flesh, we should also be ready to arm ourselves with the same determined purpose as our Lord - and for His glory. Christ suffered unjustly with much patience and we are to apply this same principle of patient endurance in the midst of unfair treatment and discriminatory practices that we may receive in our own Christian walk. We who have been bought with the precious blood of Christ Jesus our Lord, should arm ourselves with the same courage and determination and to accept suffering in this life for the sake of our God and Savior. We can live in the world and permit worldly philosophies to infect our lives and tarnish our witness or we can be in the world but not become part of the world. We can adopt the ways of the world which discredit our Savior or we can swim against the tide of hatred and animosity in a world that is at enmity with God and in conflict with His children. 1 Peter 4:1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful example of Christ Jesus our Lord Who came to earth to identify with our sins and suffered in the flesh on our account so that we might be saved by faith in His sacrificial work on the Cross. We pray that we may develop the same resolve to live holy unto the Lord, knowing that He has not only paid for our sins, but has also broken the power of sin in our lives. Praise His holy name. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN. While many regard this proverb as a precious promise, others consider it a severe warning, but all would be wise to recognize the godly principle on which this word of wisdom is founded. Children Are A Gift From God and to dedicate time and patience in the child-training process is the right, responsibility, and joy of all parents. All children are born with a propensity towards evil, and training infants and young people in godly conduct, wise choices, and appropriate accountability for their actions and attitudes is a God-given, tool to help set a child in the right direction for their life. For the Christian parent, appropriate training; vocationally, morally, intellectually, musically, educationally, spiritually, or simply encouraging the development of deportment or the promotion of individual gifts and talents, should always be founded on the Word of God and bathed in daily prayer, as day by day they seek to set an example of right living and of godly conduct. Children, grandchildren, boys, and girls are all a gift from God. May we who have been given the privilege, responsibility, and joy of children, whether our own or those of others, seek to train them up in the way they should go. May we share with them the good news of Jesus Christ and, day by day, point them in the direction of godly conduct, wise choices and appropriate accountability, praying always that when they are older that they will not depart from the way of righteousness. Proverbs 22:6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege, responsibility, and joy of the children You have placed in our lives. We humbly ask that You would guide us in the way that we should teach them and train them, and pray that they may grow up in the fear and nurture of the Lord. May they grow in godly conduct, make wise choices, and learn to be both responsible towards others and accountable to authority. Keep them from worldly ways, direct and govern their lives, and may they never depart from the way of righteousness. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Long-suffering and patient endurance in the midst of provocation, and a kindness that looks first to the needs of others, are the first two evidences of love. Love is patient, and love is kind. Godly love is the exact opposite of unspiritual behavior. Love does not envy, love is not boastful or conceited, nor it is jealous, arrogant, argumentative, carnal-minded, discontented, immoral, inconsiderate, unloving, self-inflated, selfish, or critical of others. Jesus does not envy, and Jesus is not boastful nor conceited. Jesus is not rude nor does He insist on His own way. Jesus is neither irritable nor resentful, and Jesus does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but He rejoices with the truth, He is the Truth. Only in and through Jesus are we able to bear all things, believe all things, hope all things and endure all things. When we consider this passage, let us look deeper in the significance of its true meaning, and earnestly pray that Christ may be formed in us so that we are enabled to Love As He Loves. 1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, develop in us the godly fruit of love. May we live in love and seek to love as Christ loved. Keep us from jealousy and boastfulness, and may the love of Jesus be seen in and through us, by the power of Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. There are so many passages in the book of Romans where we are reminded of our deliverance from bondage, our victory in Christ, and that there is absolutely no condemnation whatsoever to those that are in Christ Jesus. Everyone that trusts in God's only beloved Son as Savior, will never be condemned but receive life eternal. If only we would believe this truth to the uttermost. If only we would trust all that the Word of God says! In this encouraging passage in Romans 8, Paul details the glories of being in Christ, the wonders that God has planned for those that love Him, and an eternal assurance that every born-again child of God will live with Him forever. But how astonishing that God in His omniscience knew which of us would one day trust in His Son as Savior, and He knew this before we were even born! God knew that you would trust in Christ Jesus, even before you were conceived in your mother's womb! Let us praise His glorious name for the wonderful truth that There Is No Condemnation To Those That Are In Christ. He has been given the highest position in heaven, where He is seated on the right hand of the Father, interceding for His children. Let us walk in the freedom that we have been given, paid for by the shed blood of our precious Savior on Calvary's Cross. Let us begin to understand the depth of love Christ has for us as we live for Him. Romans 8:34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you that we are in Christ, Who died and rose from the dead to save us from our sins. Thank you that because we are in Him, we are not condemned. Sometimes we find this hard to comprehend, but thank You for the wonderful reassurances in Your Word. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Intrigue, treason, and power-grabbing was the political temperature at the end of David's reign. However, despite a seditious military coup instigated by his older brother which was designed to secure the crown for himself, Solomon was anointed as his father's successor and king of Israel by Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet. Solomon was proclaimed to be God's anointed ruler. If Solomon paid heed to the instructions he received from his father, David, and kept all the charges in this verse, God promised that he would succeed in all he did, no matter which way he turned. He also gave Solomon instructions on dealing with the various traitors in His government, but the most important directive David gave to his son was: "Keep the charge of the Lord your God. Walk in His ways and keep His statutes. Obey His commandments, His ordinances, and His testimonies, according to all that is written in the Law of Moses, that you may succeed in all that you do, wherever you turn." As New Testament Christians, we are no longer bound by the statutes, commandments, ordinances, and testimonies as laid out in the Mosaic Law, we are no longer under the law but under grace. However, we are subject to The Law Of The Spirit Of Life In Christ Jesus, which is laid out in the New Testament epistles, and as blood-bought children of God, our conduct, behavior, actions, attitudes, and motive is equally important if we are to walk in His ways and honor His name and should be wholeheartedly embraced. 1 Kings 2:3 and observe what the LORD your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the lessons we can learn from the Old Testament and the directives and teachings that come from it. Father, we deeply desire to walk in Your ways and to live in spirit and truth. Help us to abide in Christ, to love as He loved, and in all things to say, "Thy will not mine be done." Lord, we long to live by faith alone, to trust Your Word implicitly, and to be submissive to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Help us to follow in the footsteps of the Lord Jesus Christ Who did only those things that were good and righteous in Your eyes. May we die to selves and live for Christ, from this day forward. This we ask in Jesus' name, and for His greater glory, AMEN. Titus was Paul's spiritual son in the common faith. He was a valuable assistant who was entrusted to oversee the establishment of the Church in the island of Crete. Titus was to appoint godly elders who were equipped to maintain Doctrinal Purity and support those in their care. Paul directed Titus to guard the flock and expose false teaching, through the establishment of a doctrinally sound leadership of elders throughout the island of Crete. The little letter to Titus gives important information on the appointing of godly elders in the congregation, establishing sound teaching, correcting doctrinal error, setting out appropriate Christian behavior for men and women alike, and encouraging all believers in their faith during our brief time on earth. By God's grace, we all have the Word of God as our plum-line for truth. May we read, mark, learn, understand, and apply its wisdom in every area of our lives and may we become so in tune with the will of God, that we are enabled to identify and, if necessary, challenge areas of church life and doctrine that do not line-up with Scripture. Titus 1:5 The reason I left you in Crete was that you might put in order what was left unfinished and appoint elders in every town, as I directed you. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that we are members of the Body of Christ and that we are all one in Him. Thank You for the joy of Christian fellowship and the opportunities we all have of meeting together in our gatherings. Raise up leaders like Titus who stand firm on the authority of Scripture and carry out their responsibilities by speaking the truth in love. Raise up elders who are able to identify and address incorrect teachings and are willing to deal with issues that compromise the truth of the gospel of God. Keep each one of us low at the Cross and broken before You. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. As Christians, we have been called to personal consecration where our lives are a reflection of Christ and our bodies a living sacrifice to the Lord. It is our spiritual worship and our reasonable service to yield our-lives, our-selves, and our-bodies to the Lord; to consecrate ourselves to Him each day. Day by day, rededication of ourselves to His service is a lifelong program which we need to choose consciously. Transformation does not take place overnight but is dependent on the hidden values of the heart being translated into the active practice of our thoughts and motives. It is a freewill choice to avoid that which is evil and to honor the Lord in beautiful thoughts, beautiful words, and beautiful deeds, by choosing to do what is right and holy. The Holy Spirit alone is that One that implements our inner transformation. He is the One that causes us to be: "Transformed By The Renewing Of Your Mind." He carries out this refining work in the inner recesses of our hearts: "So that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect." The evidence of this lovely transfiguring process is not only an outward disassociation from an ungodly world and the works of the world, the flesh, and the devil, but a life that is good, acceptable, perfect and pleasing to the Father - but note that transformation is perfected through trials, difficulties, suffering, and sorrow. Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, too often our minds are deflected from Jesus onto the things of the world, especially when times are difficult, but we want to keep our minds on Christ, knowing that this is Your best will for us. We pray that we become increasingly aware of the Spirit's promptings in our lives, so that day by day, our hearts and minds may become saturated with the Lord Jesus. May His nature be reflected through our actions and attitudes and may our lives be transformed daily, by the renewing of our minds. Help us to prove in our lives what Your will is for us, and may we do only those things that are good, and acceptable and perfect in Your sight, for Your praise and glory, and for the benefit of others. This we ask in the name of Jesus, AMEN. The Word of God is true, His Word is eternal, and the Lord Jesus has given us the Word of the Father. We have been given the gospel; the good news that God loved the world so much that He sent Christ to pay the price for our sin. He broke the power of sin and death in our lives and freed us from its bondage, forever. We are to stand for the truth of the Word that we have been given. God's Word Is LIFE. We are not to love the things of the world nor to be conformed into the practices and standards of the world, the things of this world are deceitful and deceptive, and flirting with the world system is both dangerous and futile. We have been given God's wonderful Word, which is light and life, health and joy. God's wonderful Word is in direct opposition to the practices and standards of the world. The work of the Holy Spirit in our lives is to conform us into the likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the more we become like Him, the more we will be hated by the world. The world seeks to draw us away from our rest in the Lord, but we have been given the Word of God and in Him we have everything needed that pertains to holiness. He is sufficient for whatever trials and difficulties we may face, during our brief time in this world system. John 17:14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, thank You for Your Word. Thank You for Jesus. Thank You that we have been taken out of bondage and placed into Christ. Thank You that our sufficiency is in You and we love You Lord. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. What a beautiful opening prayer we discover Paul writing to his beloved friend from his restrictive prison cell, and what wise instructions he gave, wisdom we all need to heed. Paul was praying that his dear friend Philemon would be an effective witness as he shared his faith with others. He further prayed that he would come to a deeper knowledge and understanding of the incredible riches of God's unfathomable grace that are discovered in Jesus Christ alone. We will never understand the full extent of the incredible riches of God's unfathomable grace that are discovered in Jesus Christ our Lord, but the more we know Him the more effective will be our Christian ministry and witness. We Need To Pray For One Another, just as Paul prayed in the book of Philemon, that the fellowship of OUR faith may become increasingly effecting as together we all grow in grace and in a knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let us never forget that all we are and all we have is ours by Christ alone. The more we come to know Jesus and the blessings that flow to us from Him, the more we will desire to share these blessings with others. Let us pray for our fellow believers that the fellowship of our faith may become effective through the knowledge of every good thing which is in us, for Christ's sake. Philemon 1:6 I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for our brothers and sisters in Christ, knowing that we are all one in Him. We pray that the fellowship of our faith may become effective, through knowing every good thing that is in us, for the glory of Christ Jesus our Lord, AMEN. No one can love as Christ loved in the power of their own sinful flesh. No one can love as Jesus loved by their own imperfect human effort, however hard we try, for the love of man is but a faint reflection of the glorious Son of Righteousness. But all who trust in His name have been made a new creation in Christ and have the life of Christ living in us and through us. It is only as we walk in spirit and truth, in submission to the leading of the Holy Spirit within, can we fulfil this beautiful command to: "Love as I have loved you," until we can at last say: "It is not I that lives but Christ that lives in me." It is not we that LOVE but The Love Of Christ In Us. John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. Our United Prayer:
Father, may we live as Christ lived in spirit and truth, in submission to the Holy Spirit, and in obedience to Your will. May we love as Christ loved so that in ourselves we become nothing, in order that Christ may be seen in us and we can show forth His love in our lives, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. In this precious Psalm, David lists The Qualities Of A Spiritual Person whose faith is credited to them as righteousness. He addresses the rhetorical question to God Himself by asking: "Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle and who may dwell in Your holy hill?" Then he promptly lists a number of Observable Qualities that are the outward, identifying marks of a man or woman who believes in the existence of God and trusts Him to fulfil all that He has promised in His Word, such are the qualities of the man or woman of God who walks in spirit and truth and abides in Christ, and He in him. As believers who have been born from above, we are positioned in Christ, we are clothed in His own righteousness, and our joy and delight should be to walk with integrity, to work the works of righteousness, and to speak the truth in our heart. The fool may say in his heart that there is no God, but the born-again believer is the one who, by grace through faith and in the power of the Holy Spirit, is enabled to walk with integrity, work the works of righteousness, speak truth in their heart, guard their words, and tame their tongue. They are the ones who do good and not evil to their neighbors and who think of others as better than themselves. They are the ones who warrant off evil and seek to do good. They are the ones who lives reflect honesty, truthfulness, trustworthiness, and grace, and they are the ones who put on the whole armor of God and stand fast in the Lord and in the power of His might. Psalm 15:2 The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart; Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the truths that are contained in the Psalms of David and the many lessons that we can learn from them. Thank You that, by faith, we have been positioned in Christ and are seated with Him in heavenly places. We pray that we may give Him the honor due to His name, by walking in integrity and righteousness all the days of our lives. We pray that we would speak the truth in love, in the power of the Holy Spirit, to Your praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. |
