I doubt that we will ever fathom the depths of God's love for us. His love is infinite and we are finite. But nonetheless, the love of God is rich in mercy towards us who were born dead in trespasses and sins. Two of the most powerful words in the Bible: BUT GOD! BUT GOD is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. Never forget, it is only by God's grace that you and I have been saved. Salvation is the love-gift of God, it can never be gained by our works so that no one can boast. Receiving the gift of salvation by grace through faith is just the beginning. Paul tells us the astonishing fact that we are raised up with Christ and seated with Him in heavenly places. If this was not glorious enough, he tells us the reason for this: "So that in the ages to come He might show the boundless riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." The love of God is one of His many attributes, in and of Himself, God is love, but when this inherent characteristic of God's love is demonstrated towards humanity, it exhibits itself in mercy and grace, kindness and compassion. It is because of the immeasurable length, eternal breadth, incalculable height, and abundant depth of God's love, that He demonstrated His love towards us by means of His grace and mercy, when He sent His only begotten Son to die for us so that we might live eternally. Ephesians 2:4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, Our United Prayer:
