PRAYING TOGETHER AS A FAMILY
The Lord has promised, on many occasions, that the man or woman who seeks the Lord will find Him, if they search for Him with all their heart. But too often we forget that we seek Him Because He First Sought Us. The good Shepherd of the sheep is the One Who searched us out first and convicted our heart of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement. . When we were hopelessly lost to His love and dead in our trespasses and sins, it was God, Himself Who searched us out and found us. Those of us who have been saved by grace through faith in Christ, are able to testify that we sought the Lord for the forgiveness of sin and He graciously delivered us out of the hands of the enemy, triumphing over sin and death and redeeming our life from the pit. What a gracious God we have! I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are worthy to be praised and we will bless You at all times and in all places. We will make our boast in the Lord, for we sought after You and You heard our cries and answered us. You have redeemed our lives from the clutches of the evil one and delivered us from all our fears. You have forgiven our sins and clothed us in Christ's own righteousness, for His name's sake - and You alone are worthy of our praise and thanksgiving forever and ever, AMEN. God Wants Us To Hear His Word, to know His Word, to trust His Word, and to keep His Word. The Lord has placed His Word in a superior position above His holy name. Whether we are talking of the written Word of God or the Living Word of God, the Scriptures. Once the Word is in our hearts by faith, it is only then that we can keep God's Word. Our lives are to be lived in spirit and truth. We cannot keep His Word in the strength of our own fleshly nature. The only way to keep His Word is to remain in Christ, living in the power of the Spirit of God Who guides and directs our path and checks and corrects our thoughts. Always remember, when you keep His Word, His love will be perfected in you as He guides, directs, checks, and corrects our daily walk and then others will know that we are His and He is ours forever. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we want to keep Your Word in our hearts and let the love of God flow out from us to others. May we love others as You love them. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. We have been brought into fellowship with the Heavenly Father by grace through faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ, but this can only be maintained and strengthened as we walk in the light. But we live in a fallen world and are subject to the enticing lusts of the flesh, whether they be sinful actions of the body, prideful thoughts of the mind, or ungodly motives of the heart. How important therefore to Seek To Live Godly In Christ Jesus and to keep a short rein on any sins we may commit. How vital to identify sins of omission or sins or commission and to confess these faults to our Heavenly Father, knowing that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to keep on cleansing us from all unrighteousness. Christ sacrificial death is so all-encompassing that it is sufficient to remove every barrier between God and return mankind into fellowship with the Father, through faith in His sacrificial death. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that Christ is the propitiation for our sins and that His sacrificial death has paid the full price for our sins, brought us into eternal union with Himself, and returned us back into fellowship with the Father. Thank You that by His Resurrection, we have received newness of life and that this same offer of salvation is open to whosoever will believe. Thank You for all those who are coming to Christ. May many more come to a saving faith in Christ before it is too late. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Thomas was not the fool who says in his heart, "there is no God." He was not the rebellious man, with 'a reprobate mind', as described in Romans chapter 1. Thomas loved the Lord desperately, but allowed human reasoning to eclipse the truth. He permitted unbelief to cloud his faith. Thomas, like so many today, yearned that his human senses would secure the deep desire of his heart. So many today long for a voice or vision to supplement their faith. They desire a supernatural sign or a special revelation to safeguard their trust in God. But we are to live by faith and not by sight. We Are To Live By Faith and not by signs. We are to live by faith and not because of some alternative system that supports our faith. Whatever value we place on bodily senses or emotional awareness to stimulate and inform us, God's greater commendation and divine approbation is given to the one who is not influenced by physical senses, human emotions or life's circumstances, but who simply trusts His Word. Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Father, for opening our spiritual eyes of faith to see You and the Lord Jesus. We pray that we will not rely on senses or emotions to inform us of Your love and grace, but will trust the truth of Your Word. Strengthen our faith in You today, Lord. Send us out as messengers to proclaim You as our Lord and our God. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. We are to be holy and hospitable in all our conduct, at home and in the wider community. Our behavior should be friendly, congenial, gracious and welcoming. This truth that some strangers we encounter today could be angels sent from God, is no less true today than it was when Peter was led from his prison cell by an angel, or when the disciples heard from those two men clothed in white, that Jesus will return in like manner as they saw Him go. May we make it Our Daily Practice to show hospitality to strangers and exhibit genuine, loving-kindness to all we meet, for who knows maybe we also have entertained angels unaware or maybe we will encounter one in the coming days. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, it is thrilling to think that we may have helped, provided for, or entertained an angel in our lives. How wonderful to read in the Bible of angels being sent by You as messengers and protectors and that we read of them worshipping You and rejoicing over one sinner who repents. While the study of angels is fascinating, may we never take our focus off You, Lord. May we lift up our voices together with the angels and all the host of heaven to praise and worship You. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. |
