The Savior of the world was to be undiminished deity, eternally united with full humanity, in one Person; the Lord Jesus Christ. This astonishing prophecy in Isaiah confirms this fact in a few short words. As a member of the human race, the Savior was the first BORN baby of the virgin Mary: "A Child is born," for He shall save His people from their sins. As the second member of the triune Godhead, the Savior was the only begotten Son of God: "A Son is given," for God so loved the world that he GAVE the beloved Son of His love, Jesus Christ, to be our Redeemer. Every name and every attribute that is ascribed to this unique Person has the seal of the eternal Trinity etched into its very fabric. No one else but God can qualify to be called 'Wonderful' for we read in the Bible that His name is Wonderful. And God alone is the perfect Counsellor, for in Christ dwelt all the wisdom of the Godhead bodily. And the Spirit of the LORD rested upon Him; the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and reverence for the Lord. Christ Jesus is indeed our "Wonderful Counsellor." The Lord Jesus Christ is that Child that was BORN and He is that Son that was GIVEN. No surprise that His name shall be called: "Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Our United Prayer:
Loving Lord, no matter how many times we read of the wonder of Your incarnation as the Word made flesh, it fills us with wonder and praise. Lord, we worship You in the beauty of holiness, and we bow down before Your throne of grace in wonder, for holy is Your name. Lord, Bless all the families in the world as we celebrate our savior today, In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

The opening verses of the good news in John's Gospel, tell of the most glorious visitation to earth of the incarnate Son of God. He is the Word made flesh Who came to earth as the perfect Son of Man. He is the eternal Creator of the world Who is co-equal with the Father, and The Bible Introduces Him As Jesus, the Word made flesh, the One from Whom emanates eternal light and life. He came to bring light to a darkened world. He came to give eternal life to those who were dead in their sins. Jesus came to die for the sin of the whole world so that whosoever would believe on His name would not perish, but have the life of all living things. As disciples of the Lord, we should not simply follow afar off but develop a heart-desire to know Him as our everlasting Life of lives and eternal Light of all lights. John 1:10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we want to know the Lord Jesus more and more. Develop in us the desires to know Him more. Open our eyes to see Him, open our ears to hear His voice, and open our hearts to love Him more and more every blessed day we have here on earth . In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. The Lord Jesus is The True And Living Light Who enlightens every person born into the human race. But mankind has a dangerous enemy, a fallen angel called the devil and Satan, who desired to be as God and disguises himself as an angel of light, to deceive the nations. As the second Member of the triune Godhead, the eternal Son has life in Himself and that life is the true light of mankind. Only those who have been born from above, by faith in Christ's redeeming work, are given the light of His life as an eternal possession and are brought into the radiance of His unconditional love. We however are God's adoptive children, because we have received the light of life in our hearts and trusted the Lord Jesus as Savior. Therefore, we are to set our affection on things above and to walk in the light as He is in the light, for God Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shone into our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. John 1:9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You that You have placed Your Holy Spirit of light into our hearts to lead, direct, govern, and train us. Help us to walk in the light of Your love and truth, and may the beauty of Christ shine through us to others so that they too may come to a saving knowledge of our Savior, Who is the true and only light, and in Whom is life eternal. This we ask in His name, AMEN. A gift that is not accepted is still a gift. Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was God's free, indescribable, inestimable gift of grace that was given freely to every man and woman without any strings attached. Some accept this unspeakably precious gift and others reject it, but The Gift Of God To Humanity, which is too wonderful for words, was nonetheless given to ALL. Simply accepting this unspeakably precious gift from God (which we do by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, the only begotten Son of God), causes a whole host of other amazing things to be showered without limit upon the blessed recipient. Every other good thing that pertains to spiritual life; eternal life, eternal love, eternal hope, eternal joy, eternal peace, eternal prosperity, and eternal grace, is also given. The moment God's gift of grace is accepted, He opens the floodgates of the riches of His grace over the blessed beneficiary. While-ever there is life, the unspeakably precious gift from God is still available to whosoever will accept God's indescribable gift - His only begotten Son. Thanks be to God for His indescribable and unspeakably precious gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! Our United Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father, thank You for the unspeakably precious gift of Your dear Son, Jesus Christ Who has been freely given to us and to all who will simply believe in His name. Father, the gift of Your only begotten Son is beyond all expression, beyond all measure, and beyond all bounds. we fall on our knees and worship You for Your unspeakably precious gift to us. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. A virgin would conceive and give birth to their Savior Who would be called Immanuel, God with us, God incarnate. The immortal, invisible, eternal God was to be born into the world as a tiny baby and He would save His people from their sins. and through Him, all the families of the earth would be blessed. A Child Was To Be Born Of A Virgin, for God was to give His only begotten Son: "And the government would be upon His shoulder, and His name would be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." There are twenty-two astonishing Messianic prophesies in the book of Isaiah, and each one points to the Lord Jesus Christ as its glorious fulfilment, while hundreds more thread their way through the prophetic Scriptures. The Word of the Lord is sure and every prophetic pronouncement in the Scriptures has or will reach its ultimate fulfilment in Christ, for God's Word is sure, His faithfulness is everlasting, His truth endures from one generation to the next, and His promises are 'yes' and 'amen' in Christ Jesus our Lord. Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You alone are wise and good. Thank You for the truths that are contained in Your holy Word and that by Your grace You told us the end from the beginning. Thank You that You sent Your Son to be born of a virgin and become the full and final atonement for our sins. Thank You that Jesus walked the earth as a Man and understands all the limitations of our humanity. We are so thankful that He fully understands our weaknesses, having been tempted in all things, yet without sin. Thank You for our precious Savior Who helps us in our trials and temptations and Who is coming back one day to finalize His authority over sin, the world, and the devil. To Him be all the glory, AMEN. In this passage, the Lord is arguing from the lesser to the greater, from the imperfect to the perfect. IF a fallen human parent, who has a sin nature is capable of showing love, care, and consideration to their child who asks them for something, how much more will our holy, Heavenly Father Who loves us with an everlasting love, bestow His gifts and graces on His blood-bought children? Throughout the Word of God, we are reminded of His great love toward us; a never-failing love that passes human comprehension. Initially, we read that He loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son to become the sacrifice for our sin. But once saved by grace through faith in Him, we are reminded of the great love the Father has lavished on each of us, that we should be called children of God. Just as a child trusts his parents to give him good things, so those of us who are God's children have to Trust Our Heavenly Father to give good things to us. How often do we forget to ask Him? How frequently do we tire of asking, when the answer seems long in coming? We KNOW that all good and perfect things come to us from our Father Who loves and cares for each one of us with an everlasting love. Let us not listen to the lies of the enemy, but prove our faith in HIM and stand fast on the word of TRUTH, by asking God for all we need and expecting Him to answer. Matthew 7:11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! Our United Prayer:
Lord, how privileged we are that You are our Heavenly Father Who loves each one of Your children with an everlasting love and provides all we need, according to Your riches in glory. Thank You that You loved us enough to send Jesus to die for our sins, and that You delight to give good gifts to Your children. Lord, we know too often we have tried to provide for our own needs without asking You, or we have lost faith and stopped seeking You when an answer is delayed. We realize how this must sadden Your heart. Thank You that You have provided over and above all that we could ask or think, not only in this world but in the ages to come. This we Pray in Jesus' name, AMEN. A Gift for which payment must be made is not a gift. It is a purchase, an acquisition, needing to be paid for, needing to be bought with a price. A gift is something that is given freely, given without any strings attached, otherwise it cannot be called a gift. Christ Jesus was God's free gift of grace to every member of the human race. The moment God's gift of grace is accepted, He opens the floodgates of the riches of His grace over the blessed beneficiary. Simply rejecting this unspeakably precious gift from God (which happens when people refusing to accept and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God), results in everlasting condemnation and spiritual death. While-ever there is life, the unspeakably precious gift from God is still available to whosoever will accept God's indescribable gift - His only begotten Son. 2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! Our United Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father, thank You for the unspeakably precious gift of Your dear Son, Jesus Christ Who has been freely given to us and to all who will simply believe on His name. Father, the gift of Your only begotten Son is beyond all expression, beyond all measure, and beyond all bounds. We fall on our knees and worship You for Your unspeakably precious gift to us.
