It is a fact of history that Christ is risen from the dead. The four Gospel writers each gave eyewitness accounts of the Resurrection. They did not outline great theological arguments or seek to justify what they were saying with persuasive words. They simply reported facts that were observed by the various people who were there The birth of Christianity is a well-documented historical fact that is grounded in Holy Scripture. Its members believe in the historical Cross of Christ, and have placed their faith in the sacrifice that He made on that Cross, which saves people from their sins. There were literal blood stains on the wooden Cross upon which our Savior hung. When the women came early in the morning to anoint the body of Christ, they found that the stone was rolled away. The stone was not rolled away to let Christ come out. It was rolled back by the two men in white to allow the world to enter, to see the empty tomb, and to wonder at the precious truth that: "Christ is risen from the dead." The devoted women need not have wondered how they were to remove the heavy stone that first Easter morning, for they were greeted with the joyful resurrection news. It is His sacrificial death and glorious Resurrection in which we place our faith, and those who have trusted Christ as Savior, have been given the Holy Spirit as God's guarantee that they will also receive a resurrection body. Let us have this confidence in Christ today! His resurrection identified Jesus of Nazareth as the Son of God. The Resurrection verified the truth of Scripture and guarantees our own future resurrection. It gives power to our Christian life in this world and guarantees our future inheritance with Christ in heaven, to Whom be all praise and glory, through time and into eternity. Matthew 28:6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for seeing past the evil of death and bringing about Christ’s Resurrection. Thank You that we no longer need to fear death and hell, as death itself has been swallowed up in Christ's victory. Thank You that we have been placed in Christ. Show us more of Him, we pray, and may we participate in the fellowship of His sufferings and the power of His Resurrection. May there be less of us and more of Him today, and may Christ shine through our lives as we go out into the world and tell of the wonders of His grace. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the righteous One, the sinless Man that suffered and died for the sins of the whole world. He suffered and died once for all the unrighteous race of humanity so that He might bring all who believe in Him into eternal fellowship with God. As fully Man He was required to die as a man, body, soul, and spirit, but as the sinless Son of Man Who willingly gave His life as a ransom for many, He paid the purchase price that God demanded and received the full fury of God's wrath for those three devastating hours. His blood paid the price for all sin, and His sacrifice redeemed all Who would believe on Him. For 3 Days And Nights, His soul descended into the place of the dead in the bowels of the earth, and for 3 days and nights His body lay shrouded in a rich man's tomb. Christ was: "Put to death in the fleshly realm," when He shed His blood on the Cross for you and me, but He was quickened by the Holy Spirit and: "Made alive in the spiritual realm," with a body of flesh and bone so that we too might have newness of life in the spiritual realm, forever. 1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for suffering and dying for us and for the indescribable agony that You bore on the Cross when You were separated from the Father for the first time in eternity, for three dark hours. Thank You, Father, that Christ's sacrifice for sin was accepted so that by believing in Him we too might have life eternal. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. This verse follows arguably the most famous verse in the Bible which tells us: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16 tells us the glorious news of the gospel of salvation: "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved." But the subsequent verses give us context, meaning, and the gravity of the situation for those who chose not to trust in Jesus and accept His Free Gift Of Salvation: "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." Many see God as an angry God with a big stick, watching our every movement with a frown on HIS face, waiting in anticipation for us to do something wrong so that He can punish us. It was out of love and not cruelty that God sent His only begotten Son into the world to die for the sins of the world, and once a sinner believes this simple truth, he or she is immediately saved and is NOT condemned. But how many believers continue to live the life under a self-imposed condemnation, simply because they do not read God's Word or believe what they read. John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Lord, for the Bible and for the truth that it contains. Guide us into all truth, we pray, knowing that all we need for salvation and sanctification is contained within the pages of Scripture. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. In the fullness of time, God sent His only begotten Son to redeem those under the law, that we might be returned into fellowship with our Creator, and learn to worship our Father in heaven in spirit and in truth. God is Spirit, and they that worship God must worship Him in spirit and in truth. There must be no hidden agenda, selfish motive, religious pride, or hypocritical heart. Worship does not require a series of religious rituals nor is it necessary to have an appointed place of worship: "God is Spirit and they that worship God must worship Him in spirit and in truth." Though mankind looks on the outside and is drawn to religious acts of pomp and ceremony, God Looks At The Heart and delights in the one that approaches Him humbly, reverently, and in the fear of the Lord. God is close to those that are humble in heart; He saves those who are crushed in spirit; He feeds those that are hungry for Him, and streams of His living water will flow in and through the man or woman that worships the Lord in spirit and in truth. John 4:24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You sent Jesus to be born as a man Who was not subject to our limitations and fleshly leanings, but Who lived His life as the perfect example of a man. He walked in spirit and truth, trusting Your Word, in humble submission to the Holy Spirit, and in full dependence upon the Father. We pray that, like Christ, we may live our lives trusting Your Word, in submission to the Holy Spirit, and in total dependence upon You so that we may worship You as You desire, in spirit and in truth, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Had it not been for the Cross of Christ, the curse of the Law and God's condemnation would have remained on the entire sinful race of humanity. Had it not been that the world was reconciled back to God through Christ, we would have remained estranged forever from the One Who created us in His own image. But it is God in His grace Who reconciled the world back to Himself, through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. It is not faith in faith that saves us, but faith in the finished work of Christ on Calvary's Cross. Being reconciled to God does not depend on what we do but rests entirely on what Christ has already done, and by simply trusting that His finished work on the Cross has paid the full price for our sins, we are reconciled back to God; we have peace with Him and are regarded as blameless in His sight. We have God's assurance that He is satisfied with us because of Christ's sacrifice on the Cross. We Have Been Made A New Creation and positioned in Him so that when God looks at us He sees us clothed in Christ's righteousness. Let us never forget the enormous price that was paid in order for us to be reconciled back to God, and let us continue to boast about God through our Lord Jesus, He alone is worthy of our honor and praise. Romans 5:11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that in Your goodness and grace, You took the initiative to reconcile the world back to Yourself. Thank You that while we were still sinners You sent Jesus to die on the Cross for our sins so that by faith in His shed blood, we are reconciled to You, forgiven of our sins, and have been promised daily deliverance from sin's dominion in our lives. Praise His holy name, AMEN. What a statement! However, there is more truth packed into these few short words than is found in the combined libraries of humanity - and that is no emotional fantasy but a stark statement of factual reality. If, in love, we could but grasp, believe, and act on the deep significance of Christ's simple, yet profound statement, our troubled hearts would be stilled, and our joy would be full. Jesus did not simply say He would show us the way, but that He IS The Way. He is the one and only way for fallen man to get to the Father. Jesus did not say He would tell us some truths, but that He IS incarnate Truth. He is the personification of truth. Christ's claim is exclusive. The one and only way, truth, and life is JESUS. No other religion, no other faith, no other path, no other philosophy, and no other gospel leads the sinner to God the Father, tells the truth about Him, and gives us His eternal life other than JESUS. This is A Non-Negotiable Fact. Let's ponder this magnificent truth and seek to grasp the enormity of what it means, for the one who is saved by grace through faith in Him. May the truth of this simple yet profound statement permeate to the very core of our being so that our troubled hearts will be stilled and our joy will be full. Let's all be willing to share the good news that Jesus Christ is the Way and the Truth and the Life, with whomsoever the Lord may place in our paths. John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, familiarity with Scripture has sometimes prevented us from seeing the astonishing truth behind so much of Your Word. Open our understanding to grasp, believe and act on these simple yet profound truths. In Jesus’ name we Pray, AMEN. |
