We Cannot Live On Bread Alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, and the Scriptures are the spiritual food that God in His grace has given us for our Christian life and spiritual growth. No matter what chronological age we may be, our desire for the Word of God should be like a hungry, little newborn baby. We are to feed on the Word of God day by day in order to mature and grow spiritually. We are to be doers of the Word and not hearers only so that we may apply the important spiritual principles that are contained within its pages. We are to preach the Word to others so that lost sinners might hear and believe in Christ to the glory of God. May we never stop desiring the milk of the Word so that we may grow thereby. May we meditate on the Word of God, trust His Word of truth, believe on His precious promises and look to Jesus day by day in the power of the Holy Spirit of truth so that we may grow in grace to His praise and glory. 1 Peter 2:2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the lessons Your Word teaches and for its cleansing power, purifying effect, and spiritual nourishment which is so necessary in this time when the foundation of our faith is being attacked in all quarters. May we sincerely desire the pure milk of the Word so that we may grow in grace, mature in the faith, and become increasingly conformed into the image and likeness of the Lord Jesus. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

In His teaching, Jesus gave examples of the right and the wrong way to live. He explained the acceptable way to do charitable deeds and the godly way to fast and pray. He frequently took examples from the natural world in order to teach an important, spiritual truth and to teach that pursuing kingdom truths which will last forever, is of far greater value than chasing after the temporary treasures of this world. People Of God Should Not Be Worried Or Concerned about such things as food to eat and clothes to wear, He is our Shepherd and Provider, and has promised to supply all that we need. The children of God who anxiously fret over their daily needs and necessities are demonstrating a serious lack of faith in the word of God and behaving like the unsaved who do not know the Lord. The quickest way to cause fear to evaporate is to focus the eyes of our hearts steadily on the Lord Jesus, and in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, to cast our care on Him and to make our requests known to God: and then the peace of God that passes understanding will fill our minds and flood our hearts and our faith will flourish. Matthew 6:32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Our United Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, too often we have allowed worry and fretful fears to overtake our hearts and minds, which causes our faith to falter when we should be looking to You and remembering Your never-failing faithfulness. Thank You for the simple truth in the Sermon on the Mount, that God knows all our needs and will never leave us comfortless. Help us to always remember that if You feed the birds of the air and clothe the flowers of the field so beautifully, You will most certainly take care of Your children, who have trusted Christ for salvation. Help us to keep the eyes of our hearts on Jesus and not on the circumstances of life - in Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Of all the gifts and graces that are poured out in great abundance into the lives of believers, there are three that out-shine and out-last all others. When prophecy is complete, languages cease, signs are silenced, and miracles of health, healing, provision, and protection are no longer needed. We are told that these three spiritual fruits of God’s amazing grace will continue and will remain and abide into the eternal state: faith, hope, and love. But love is a gift of God, and love is the primary a fruit of the Spirit that will continue to grow and expand beyond our wildest imaginations. The love of God that has been poured into our hearts will continue to increase and multiply, The love of God is eternal, and the love of God is broader than the measure of our mind. The loving heart of the Eternal is most wonderfully kind. Our faith in Him will stand fast forever, and our hope in Him will be forever realized. But it is the love of God that He has for us that will move us ever closer to the love that we have for Him as we abide in Him and He in us, through time and into eternity. 1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. Our United Prayer:
Thank You Father for Your gift of salvation by grace alone, simply because we believe in Your Son. Thank You for the hope that is set before us and thank You for the love of the Lord Jesus, which was demonstrated to us on a wooden cross, over 2000 years ago. May His love flood our hearts and pour through us into the lives of others, that they may know Your love, have faith in Your finished work and receive that blessed hope in their hearts, that only comes from You, in Jesus name we Pray, AMEN. In a few simple words, Paul describes the godly behavior that gives much glory to God. First, our manner of life should be worthy of the gospel of Christ. In word and deed, action and attitude, we are to a worthy witness to a wicked world, of the glorious gospel of Christ that transforms a doomed sinners in the clutches of Satan into a saved saint; redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, transferred into the kingdom of God's dear Son, and living a life that is being transformed into the image and likeness of Christ. Moral conduct was not to be dependent upon the presence or absence of Paul. Virtuous behavior should never be slackened or compromised when a believer is alone, nor should there be a pretense of spirituality when in the company of others. Whatever we do, whether we are by ourselves or with other people, ALL should be done to the praise and glory of God. We are encouraged to develop and maintain, the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, and to single-mindedly stand firm in the faith of the gospel of Christ, in one spirit, with one mind, striving together for the faith of the gospel. As members of the Body of Christ and citizens of heaven, We Should Confidently Walk The Earth In Unity Of The Spirit, and consistently stand firm in the faith that was once offered to the saints, with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith of the gospel and in so doing glorifying our Father Who is in heaven. Philippians 1:27 Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us all to live lives that are worthy of You. May our conduct and behavior be uncompromising, whether we are alone or in the company of others. May the words of our mouths and the thoughts of our hearts be pleasing to You. We pray that we may stand firm in the truth of the glorious gospel of grace and strive side by side with our brothers and sisters in Christ for the faith of the glorious gospel of Christ. He alone is worthy of our praise and worship, and it is in His name we Pray, AMEN. God's will for all His children is that we rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, and in all things to give thanks to Him, even during the inevitable difficulties of life that we all have to face, and in the midst of the various trials that are the portion of all humanity. The trial that comes our way is not a stick of punishment from an angry God for our misdemeanors, but the corrective, chastening rod of our loving Heavenly Father Who loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to pay the price for our sin so that by believing in Him, we might receive forgiveness of sins and life everlasting. The Trying Experiences Of Today are preparing us for a glorious tomorrow. They are designed to test our faith, develop our faith, hone our faith, and increase our faith in our Father in heaven. The faith of each of His children is valuable to the Lord, more precious to Him than much fine gold, which will one day perish. Let us rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all things, even during the trials that come our way: 1 Peter 1:7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being with us in all our trials. What a blessing to realize that when we go through trials, the end result can be stronger faith which is much more precious than gold. We know the refining process that we are going through is difficult, but we pray that when we have been tried in the fire, our faith would come forth as gold, to Your praise, honor, and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. When God created the world, it was good. Indeed, God saw that all that He had made was very good. Although we can truly say that He made everything with resplendent beauty, everything He made was fitting and just right. God created us with a yearning for the eternal; a desire to discover all the answers of time and eternity. We are born with a human restlessness deep within our mortal spirit. As one writer described it: "There is a God-shaped hole within the heart of every person," a longing for what is eternal, which Christ alone can fill. Throughout the course of history, humanity continues its endless search for something that is beyond human knowledge. The human race marches on, seeking answers that are beyond our comprehension because our infinite, unfathomable, God has designed us with a hunger for more, a hunger that nothing but He Himself can suffice. It is when we are willing to surrender to the sovereignty of God and acknowledge that He is the all-powerful God Whose ways are past finding out, and that we are His dependent creatures, that our inner restlessness is stilled. Indeed, the more we understand that the Lord is in control, that He alone can solve the mysteries of the universe, that He Is The Author And Finisher Of Our Faith, and our future times are in His hands, that we are enabled to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not lean on our own, limited understanding or attempt to find answers from our own, inadequate imagination. God has done all things appropriately and well, and He has set eternity in the heart of all mankind so that those who seek Him with all their heart will find rest for their soul in Him and receive the gift of eternal life through faith in Christ. He has promised that whosoever will, may come. Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we truly worship and praise You, that You are our great Creator Who has made everything beautiful in its time and appropriate to complete Your plans and purposes. Thank You that You made us in Your image and likeness and that in Your grace have set eternity in the hearts of all people. Help us to surrender to Your sovereign will, to establish You on the throne of our lives, and to trust You to fulfil Your perfect plan and purposes in each of our lives. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. Second Timothy was the last epistle written by the great apostle Paul to his son in the faith, for our learning, shortly before his impending death. Paul wrote his letter when incarcerated in a Roman prison, and knew without a shadow of a doubt, that he was already being poured out as a sacrificial offering to the Lord. Paul knew that he was soon to be removed from this earth under the 'axe' of the executioner, but his letter to Timothy was to become the greatest encouragement to the young pastor - and to us as well, to fight the good fight of faith, to run the race that is set before us, and to honor the Lord in all we say and do, by keeping the faith and enduring to the end. Paul had learned that living a spiritual life and maturing in the Christian faith, did not depend on his own ability, wisdom, intelligence, or efforts, but in The Power Of The Holy Spirit, working in him and living through him. It was his passion for his Lord that caused Paul to press on for the upward call in Christ Jesus. Let us follow in Paul's footsteps and fight the good fight of faith, so that we may say, with Paul: 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us to preach the Word of truth. Enable us to exhort and encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ, with the same godly passion for the good news of the gospel of Christ that was demonstrated in the life of the apostle Paul. We pray that in due time we may also say, we have finished the work that You have given us to do - We have fought the good fight, We have finished the course, We have kept the faith, to Your praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. |
