There is no merit in any one of us, and all our attempts to please God through religious strivings, self-abasement, fleshly works, or prescribed penances are of no effect, for the price of sin could only be paid for by the shed blood of the sinless Son of Man. It is only by faith in Christ's sacrifice at Calvary that we become qualified to share in the inheritance of the saints. God in His grace gave His only begotten Son to die a cruel death as the purchase price for the sin of the world, and that alone is the criteria for the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. We were not redeemed with corruptible things like silver and gold. We did not receive peace with God through things such as human merit, religious strivings, self-abasement, fleshly works, or prescribed penances. We did not receive salvation and all its accompanying benefits because of our vain acts, conceited conversation, or church activities, but through the precious blood of a Lamb, unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. It was GRACE that caused God to reach down to a fallen race of sinners and formulate His redeeming plan of salvation. We were bought with a PRICE: Christ's shed blood on Calvary. Therefore, let us honor God with our bodies and give Him our heartfelt thanks and unceasing praise. Colossians 1:12 and Giving Joyful Thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that in Your grace, You designed Your amazing plan of redemption so that lost sinners such as us could be redeemed by the shed blood of Christ Jesus. As we look forward to receiving our inheritance, may we never forget what it cost for Him to die for us. Lord, our hearts overflow with rejoicing, thanksgiving and praise, for all You have done for us. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

Faith and love are two of the principle graces that are the hallmark of the saint, and along with hope they combine into a trio of Christian attributes that are so beloved of the Father. Faith and love are two 'fruits of the Spirit' that blossom and bloom in the lives of all believers that are walking in spirit and truth. Paul goes on to say: "Faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven," the fruit of which is the gospel growing throughout the whole world. Indeed, since these dear believers heard the gospel and truly understood the grace of God, the natural result was that they were bearing fruit and shedding the gospel abroad. Let us take heart from this passage of Scripture. Let us be known for our faith in Christ and our love for all God's people. In these days, may the blessed hope that is stored up for us in heaven overflow in our love so that we will tell all we meet the glorious gospel of grace. Colossians 1:4 because we have heard of Your Faith In Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people Our United Prayer:
Dear Lord, we love You, but we long to love You more. We trust You, but we want to trust You us. Help us to rest so securely in You that Your love flows freely through us to others, bringing praise and honor to Your holy name. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. No matter what circumstances we find ourselves to be in and however problematic, distressing, or frightening our situation may become, we may be sure that every day that passes can be used by God for the good, and every happening in our lives is an opportunity for the greater progress of the gospel. This little verse is a glorious example of Christ's victory over evil and His omnipotent ability to bring triumph from terrors and tragedies. God can bring beauty from ashes and God Can Turn Any Obstacle In Your Life Into A Blessed Opportunity, where the gospel of Christ can be preached and the name of Jesus lifted up. God can change each insurmountable stumbling-bock into a divinely appointed springboard for the furtherance of the gospel of Christ. He is able and willing to do this in the life of anyone who is humbly submitted to His leading and prepared to say: "Thy will be done in my life." Let us in all things, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving and joy, present our souls and bodies as a living sacrifices to God, knowing that He will use the circumstances of our lives for the greater progress of the gospel, if we will simply let Christ rule in our hearts. Philippians 1:12 Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, how we thank You that You are our God. No matter what situation we find ourselves in and whatever problems we may be called upon to face, it can be used by You for the furtherance of the gospel of grace. Help us to be joyful in our hope in Christ, knowing that You can use every circumstance of our lives for the greater progress of the gospel. Help us to be persevering in tribulation and devoted to prayer. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Saving faith is not the type of faith about which this passage is speaking. This Scripture is addressed to those that are already saved. It instructs believers that ongoing, sanctifying faith is a necessary protection throughout our Christian life. The Shield-of-Faith, when utilized correctly, will protect our hearts and souls from all the flaming arrows of the enemy, during our time on earth. There are many pieces of spiritual armor which God has prepared for our protection during our time on earth, and those that know their God and trust His Word will continuously carry that Shield-of-Faith by taking every thought captive to Christ, by keeping their eyes of faith on Jesus, and by resisting every attack of the enemy through standing firm on the Word of faith. May we stand fast and Take Up The Shield Of Faith moment by moment, knowing that with it, we are able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of evil and stand victorious by the power of His Spirit, which is given by faith in Jesus Christ our Lord. Ephesians 6:16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You have fully equipped us to overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil, with such wonderful pieces of spiritual armor. Thank You for the Shield Of Faith, with which we are enabled to extinguish all the flaming arrows and fiery darts of the evil one. Help us to stand fast on the promises of God and to keep our eyes looking to Jesus. Thank You that we have not only been saved by grace through faith in Him, but that in the power of the Holy Spirit we may live by grace through faith. We Pray that we live by faith and not by sight, to Your eternal praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. Christ's little band of disciples were the frightened little flock that He addressed, as contempt for Jesus and His disciples grew in intensity and fervor. While being tenderly addressed as Christ's 'little flock', his followers were increasingly regarded as foolish and unimportant by the proud religious leaders of the day. Nevertheless, they were given a most precious assurance by their Lord and Savior: Do Not Be Afraid, little flock "For your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom." No words of greater encouragement could have been given to Christ's disciples as they encountered increasing hostility from the Scribes, Pharisees, and Jewish leaders - blind leaders of the blind who refused the truth so that they could embrace the lie. But there were other sheep in different sheep-folds for the Good Shepherd to care for, and so the Father also GAVE the same unique Son of His love because He loved the world so much that whosoever would believe in His name, would not perish and be condemned, but have everlasting life and be forever free from God's condemnation. Luke 12:32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, thank You that Your grace has been extended to all who will believe in the Lord Jesus as the Good and Great Shepherd of all the lost people of the world, including us. Thank You for saving us and drawing us into Your eternal sheep-fold. In Jesus' name we Pray. AMEN. There are many pressures in life that make us fearful, and all too often it is fear that causes men and women to seek to escape life's problems through ungodly means. If anxiety or worry causes a man or woman to be controlled or restricted by their circumstances, or if they seek to escape the consequences of life's pressures by committing some sort of evil act, then that person sets a trap for themselves. They become embroiled in their own wrong responses. However, the Word of God gives a wonderful reassurance that the ones who Trust In The LORD are safe and secure. This short verse has a depth of meaning and much to teach us because it describes a problem: 'the fear of man', yet concludes with the grace principle: "But the Lord..." The outcome for the fear of man is a snare that entraps the soul and results in disappointment and deep despair. However, the opposite of fear is faith, which ironically is sometimes called 'the fear of the Lord'. Never forget that somewhere in the Bible there is always a resounding, 'BUT GOD...' Never allow any fear that is being conceived in your mind to be birthed into a terror that destroys the inner peace that God gives to those that love Him. Rather, be quick to abort any evil broodings, as soon as they come to mind, by setting the eyes of your heart on the face of the Lord Jesus and taking those thoughts captive to Christ. Our God of grace and peace in Whom we trust, has promised us all temporal, spiritual, and eternal mercies. Remember, it is fear of man that spawns death and dis-ease BUT the one who trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ honors the Father in heaven and brings life and release. Proverbs 29:25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe. Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Father, for Your many beautiful promises of ‘contrast’. We begin to understand, more and more, that there is nothing in life that should cause us to fear. You have promised to be with us in every circumstance of life and Your grace is sufficient to counter every fear in our hearts. Keep us looking to Jesus and trusting in His precious promises. We pray that on those occasions when doubts and fear arise within, that Your Spirit will prompt us to turn our thoughts away from fear and onto You. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. It is the Holy Spirit of God that imparts life into the dead spirit of mankind and it is that same Spirit of life that broods over the child of God and breathes hope into the heart and life of those that trust His name. The Lord has promised, on many occasions, that the man or woman who seeks the Lord will find Him, if they search for Him with all their heart. But too often we forget that we seek Him because He first sought us. The good Shepherd of the sheep is the One Who searched us out first and convicted our heart of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement. It was God Who searched for us, found us, and convicted us of our need of a Savior, and it is the Spirit of God Who breathed the breath of life into our inner being by faith, when He found his sheep that was lost and we trusted Him as our God and Redeemer. When we were hopelessly lost to His love and dead in our trespasses and sins, it was God, Himself Who searched us out and found us. We formerly walked according to the course of this world and lived according to the prince of the power of the air, who is the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. But God in His grace found us and Saved Us, By Faith. Those of us who have been saved by grace through faith in Christ, are able to testify that we sought the Lord for the forgiveness of sin and He graciously delivered us out of the hands of the enemy, triumphing over sin and death and redeeming our lives. Psalm 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are worthy to be praised and we will bless You at all times and in all places. We will make our boast in the Lord, we sought after You and You heard our cries and answered us. You have redeemed our lives from the clutches of the evil one and delivered us from all our fears. You have forgiven our sins and clothed us in Christ's own righteousness, for His name's sake and You alone are worthy of our praise and thanksgiving forever, AMEN. It has been said that the comforting words 'Fear Not' appear in the bible 366 times, one for each day of the year plus one for leap year. But no matter how many times these cheering words of encouragement appear, let us always remember that they are spoken by the Creator of the Universe to His people. He is the One Who tells His children not to fear because He can still the raging storm and heal the brokenhearted. Faith in His precious promises is what God desires of us all, and we are warned that unless we trust His Word we can't please Him. But the Lord is gracious to us, He knows that we are but dust. The Lord is long-suffering and of great goodness and He knows that doubts and discouragement can be triggered by so many things that mar our lives. Christ is our righteousness, Christ is our ever-present help in time of trouble, and it is Christ Whose grace is always sufficient for all our needs. How, then, can we fear if God is for us? Who is there to fear? Whether the comforting words 'Fear Not' appear in the Bible 366 times or simply once, we should hearken to His Word and trust His promises, His Word is trustworthy and true. Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, we know that there are many times that fear has replaced faith in our hearts, yet why should we fear when You have told us so many times to fear not? Thank You for Your promise to be with us always, to strengthen us, to be with us and to uphold us with Your righteous right hand, for which we thank You and bless Your holy name. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. The amazing love of God, binds us together in worship and praise to our Heavenly Father Whose loves for us is so profound, that He gave His only begotten Son to become our substitute for sin, while the supernatural love of Jesus is such that while we were yet sinners, Christ died on our account so that we might be forgiven of our sin, receive a new life in Him, become united with Christ and abide with Him forever. Faith, enables us to worship in spirit and truth. It empowers us to carry out the work that God has prepared for us to do and it emboldens us to engage in the spiritual warfare of this age, effectively. Peace and love with faith, comes directly from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. The unity of the triune, combines to bestow peace to the brethren, and Love With Faith. The divine equality of Father and Son is meted out in clear view in this verse; we are blessed with every spiritual blessing by the Father, through the Son, both are equivalent in honor, glory, might, majesty, dominion, and power, forever and ever, amen. Ephesians 6:23 Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your perfect peace and gracious love which is bestowed on all Your children through faith in Christ. Thank You that there is nothing that can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus, and that no one can remove the perfect peace You place within our hearts, through the almighty power of the Holy Spirit. Thank You, in Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. What comfort, rest, and reassurance wash the hearts and minds of believers when reflecting on the overwhelming love of God and the depth and height and length and breadth to which His grace extends. His mercy dwarfs the mightiest mountains, it reaches into the highest heavens. His love plunges beyond the bottomless depths of the deepest oceans, and His LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS, righteousness, and justice plummet to the very depths of our understanding and extend into the farthest reaches of our limited grasp. This knowledge of God is not for the unregenerate, the wisdom of God is foolishness to them. Indeed, God's foolishness is wiser than mankind's wisdom, and His weakness is stronger than mankind's combined strength. But such understanding is sweetness and strength to the sanctified soul, for true knowledge of the Holy-One is spiritually discerned. The knowledge that comes from the Lord quickens our heart, comforts our soul, informs our thoughts, and translates into joy and peace. May we lift our hearts morning by morning and every moment of our transient lives, by raising our voices in joyful thanks and praise. God's loyal love reaches to the sky, His faithfulness extends beyond the clouds, and His saving grace spans the eternal ages to come. Psalm 36:5 Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Our United Prayer:
When we reflect on Who You are our Lord and God, it gives us a peep into the magnificence of Your person, Your will and Your character. Thank You, for the many reassurances that You give our fainting souls, in these precious promises about Your nature and character. Thank You for expressing Your love, faithfulness, might and justice in the Person of the Lord Jesus. Thank You for sending Him to die on the cross and to rise into newness of life, so that we may be brought into fellowship with Yourself. May we be bold in sharing the truth of Your magnificence with all You put in our paths. In Jesus’ name we Pray, AMEN. The Tree of Life stands like two majestic book-ends in the Word of God. In Genesis we find this life-giving Tree growing in the midst of the garden of Eden, offering eternal life to Adam who was made in God's image and likeness. All he had to do was to simply choose to take and eat of the fruit that hung from its branches, he could freely eat of every tree in the garden with one exception. In Revelation, we discover the return of the Tree of Life standing in the midst of the paradise of God: "It will produce twelve types of fruits, and yield its fruit each month, while its leaves are given for the healing of the nations." Paradise lost, in the beginning, becomes Paradise restored at the end and whoever 'overcomes' will be able to eat from 'the Tree of Life'. Whoever's faith is credited with righteousness will be able to eat of its life-giving fruit: "Whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith." Blessed are the ones that trust in the Lord and whose hope is in the Lord our God. He is the true Vine in Whom is life eternal; He is the Bread of life; He is the living water, the Rock of our salvation, and the Hope of all the ends of the earth. A Longing Fulfilled Is A Tree Of Life: ALL who feed on Him in their hearts by faith, with thanksgiving, will eat of the Tree of Life and find Him to be their Source and Sustainer through time and into eternity. Proverbs 13:12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that Christ is the Light of the world, and in Him is life, and health, and wholeness. Thank You that in Him, we find peace with God when we trust Him for our salvation. Lord, the peace You give is so wonderful it cannot be found anywhere else. Your heavenly peace which passes understanding, guards our hearts and minds and enlivens our souls. Thank You for Your amazing plan of redemption for the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting, and that the day is coming when we will see Jesus face to face and have full and free access to the living Tree of Life. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. The days in which we live mirror the days about which James was writing, and the lesson that they were to learn is one that we need to understand fully and apply consistently if we are to resist the temptation of Satan who seeks to shipwreck our faith. Let us consider times of testing in our lives as a God-given opportunity to produce in us perseverance, steadfastness, and patient endurance. If we can consider the obstacles of life to be opportunities that mature our faith and produce in us patient endurance, we will come to understand that God is using the trials of life to benefit our Christian character, and to help us grow more like the Lord Jesus. When trouble comes our way, let us consider it an opportunity for great joy, knowing that The Testing Of Your Faith, our patient endurance has a chance to grow and our life will glorify our Father, Who is in heaven. James 1:3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we desire to grow in grace and become more like Jesus. We are beginning to understand that in this life, we will have testing's and trials. We pray that You will keep us steady in the trials of life. Thanks be to God that by the power of the Holy Spirit, the testing of our faith will develop perseverance in us. May we come forth as gold, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Faith Is Believing All God Has Said In His Word; first for our justification, and then for living a sanctified life. Faith is accepting scriptural truth as a firm fact. Faith is having the assurance that what we hope for in Christ will certainly come to pass. Indeed, without faith it is impossible to please God. The man or woman who lives by faith uses life's stumbling-blocks as stepping stones. Faith allows obstacles to be changed into opportunities, and wounds that are inflicted become a witness to the generous grace He pours out into our lives in great abundance. When we live by faith, we remain in fellowship with the Lord, and can become healing balm and a godly comfort in the lives of others, who are facing similar difficulties. Living by faith frequently contrasts the visible unreality of this fake, false, and failing world, with the invisible reality of true, glorious, eternal, heavenly things, that are our promised inheritance, in Christ. Happy is the one who understands that faith is not only required for salvation, but is the necessary ingredient to live a victorious Christian life. Living by faith simply means that we trust completely all that God has said in His Word. 2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. Our United Prayer:
Father, thank You for our great salvation. We pray that You would help us to walk by faith, to live by faith, to pray in faith, and to trust all that is written in Your Word of truth, by faith. We pray that we may die to ourselves and our own abilities, and rest entirely on You and Your sufficient grace in all we say and do. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. God gave an unfolding revelation of Himself to mankind through His prophetic Scriptures. Much of that revelation, though concealed in the Old Testament, was penned to the Church in the New Testament by Paul. And Romans is a book that systematically and logically takes us into a fuller understanding of God's plans and purposes for salvation, redemption, sanctification, glorification, and all that accompanies the riches of God's grace towards us who were once dead in trespasses and sins, but have now been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. It was eternal God Who commanded and caused this wonderful revelation of Himself to be gifted to man, through the Holy Scriptures, and He did it for a purpose: "To advance Obedience That Comes From Faith among all nations." The wisdom of God is truly incomprehensible to the human mind. But even though we now see through a glass darkly, we have the blessed hope that we will one day see Him face to face, when the mystery of the ages shall be fully known. But for now, having had the mystery revealed to us in the beautiful face of Christ, let us say with Paul: "To the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever. Amen." Romans 16:26 but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, how we thank and praise You for the glorious revelation of Your amazing salvation, by grace through faith. Open our hearts to know You more. May we love You more each day, and walk in the path of righteousness, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. By Grace Through Faith in the death, burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, God delivered us from the domain of darkness: "And transferred us into the kingdom of His beloved Son." The kingdom of Satan is one of darkness and disease, doom and destruction, desolation and death. But by a simple act of faith in Christ's finished work at Calvary, we have been lifted out of this shocking state and transferred into Christ's glorious kingdom of everlasting light and life; the kingdom of God's only beloved Son. Christ defeated Satan at the Cross, and although He is the rightful Ruler of the world and God's anointed King of the whole earth, Christ is currently absent from His people during this present age, waiting for that day when He will fully and finally put down all enemies under His feet, destroying every principality and power, and terminating Satan's destructive rule of terror. In that day, Christ will finally deliver up the kingdom of God to the Father which will usher in the eternal kingdom, and which will continue throughout eternity. Colossians 1:13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for delivering us up from the domain of darkness and transferring us into the kingdom of Your beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You that He died so that we might live. All praise to His precious name, AMEN. |
