The most important life-choice anyone will ever make is their response to this fundamental question: "Choose today, Who you are going to serve." Will you serve God or Satan, the spirit or the flesh, light or darkness, life or death, faith or fear, the truth or the lie, for its answer has both temporal considerations and eternal consequences. Choosing the Lord should never be viewed as a comfortable seat in a pew nor membership to an exclusive worldwide club. Choosing the Lord should never be postponed until tomorrow, nor hidden behind a mask of compromise with this antithetical world-system. Choosing to follow the Lord is the most important decision of the will that every man and woman must make one day: "Take up your cross daily," Jesus told us, "and follow Me." The far-reaching significance of this choice cannot be measured. It requires the abandonment of myself, my personal rights, my cherished interests, and my own self-will, for His plans, His rights, His interests, and His will. We are to identify with Christ in His personal place and plead as He did: "Father, Thy will not mine be done." The resolve to serve the Lord will inevitably cause believers to swim against the tide of popular opinion as our heart focusses on Christ and gazes steadily upon Him and His ultimate goal, which is that Christ is all. The man or woman, mother or father, boy or girl who is prepared to lead in this important life-choice, will most likely be one that will influence those in their own 'household' in this eternally significant decision, and will be able to say with : "As For Me And My House, We Will Serve The LORD." Joshua 24:15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, we are beginning to understand, more and more, that we cannot be divided in our loyalty, for You alone have the words of eternal life. Today, Lord, we choose to go deeper into You. We desire to serve You with our whole heart. Keep us and our families ever walking in Your light and truth. Keep our eyes looking to Jesus. In His name we Pray, AMEN.

Let us never forget that we are a new creation in Christ, having been given His new, resurrected life when we were justified by faith. By faith, we have received a glorious inheritance in Him that is kept for us in heaven. How important, therefore, to lay aside the old Adamic life where we were dead in sins and enslaved to the evil one. How vital that we clothe ourselves in Christ and live for Him alone, this is well-pleasing in His sight. Children have the right to be treated with love and respect, but they also have the responsibility to be obedient to their parents. Sadly, when parents are not under the authority of God, they are ill-equipped to discipline their own children, and this can have a detrimental effect in the home and in society at large. But having non-Christian parents does not exempt a child from this command, to "be obedient to your parents in all things, this is well-pleasing to the Lord," He has promised to give His sufficient grace to all who trust in Him. May we recognize the importance of family roles, biblical responsibility, godly discipline, and child training, as well as Our Accountability Towards God. May we as children of our Heavenly Father, be obedient to Him in all things, this is well-pleasing to the Lord. Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for ordaining that we are placed in families and for guiding us in the biblical roles and responsibilities we have towards one another. Help us to be obedient to You in thought, word, and deed, and help us to be examples of godly lives in our own families and to those in the wider community with whom we come in contact. Thank You for our own parents and thank You that we are Your children. May we live and work to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. |
