Many people have a historical faith in Jesus Christ. They believe many of the facts that surround His life and consider Him to be a good man and one of the finest moral teachers ever to have lived. To some, their belief in Jesus remains a historical fact and not a saving faith. When belief in the historical Jesus becomes faith in the person and work of Christ as Son of God and Son of Man, He is removed from being an unapproachable historical figure to a very present personal Savior Who loves us and gave His life for us. When He moves into our life, He becomes a very part of us. We not only know about Him, but we know Him personally and love Him, because He first loved us. He is The Eternal Well Of Water Within, that springs up into everlasting life. He calls to all who are thirsty to come and drink at His fountain of life. John 4:14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, thank You that Jesus is that well-spring of water that has been poured into our weary souls and is a well of water springing up unto everlasting life. Enable us to be channels through whom Your love and refreshment may stream out to all those with whom we come in contact with so that they may know You as the water of their life. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

Having thoroughly and systematically presented every aspect of the glorious gospel of salvation, and the eternal foundation of God's amazing grace upon which these everlasting truths rest, Paul earnestly urges believers in Christ to practically apply all that he has taught in this weighty epistle to the Romans, by Presenting Our Bodies To The Lord As Living Sacrifices. We are saved entirely because of God's wonderful grace. There is nothing we can do to repay God, but surely in the light of its eternal glories and benefits we can offer ourselves to Him in love and gratitude, by presenting our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, this is our spiritual worship. This is not a command, God wants our love and service to be rendered freely and willingly, but in light of the riches of God's free grace which He has poured out in great measure on fallen sinners simply because we trusted in Christ as our Savior. It should be our joy and delight to present our bodies, day by day, in spiritual worship as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to the Lord. Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Our United Prayer:
Lord, take our lives and let them be consecrated to You. Take our lives Lord, we pour our lives out as living sacrifices to You. Praise Your holy name for the amazing gift of salvation that You have given to us, by grace through faith. You alone are worthy of our love and praise forever and ever. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. The Spirit of truth is witness to the Word of truth and so John can proclaim that we know that The Eternal Son Of God has come to earth to live and to die as the perfect, sinless Son of Man. John explains that the Spirit of truth has given us understanding in Him: "He is the visible image of the invisible God, full of grace and truth." He alone has made the Father known to all who will trust in His name. Love of the Lord Jesus and obedience to His commands are the focal points of John's writing so that all who believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God would know, without question, that they have eternal life in Him. It is this confidence in Christ that enables John to write that we know that the Son of God has come. We know that Christ has made the Father known to us, and we know that in Him we have been given spiritual understanding and godly wisdom. God, in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, came to earth to reconcile mankind to the Father through the Son and to give spiritual understanding and godly wisdom to all who would trust in His name. He is the only way to God, the only truth from God, and the only life of God. 1 John 5:20 We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You sent Your only begotten Son to become our Savior. Thank You that in Your goodness and grace, we have been given understanding by the Holy Spirit so that we can know Him more fully. He is the only way to God, the only truth from God, and the only life of God. We pray that we would spend the rest of our lives walking in the truth, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN. Long-suffering and patient endurance in the midst of provocation, and a kindness that looks first to the needs of others, are the first two evidences of love. Love is patient, and love is kind. Godly love is the exact opposite of unspiritual behavior. Love does not envy, love is not boastful or conceited, nor it is jealous, arrogant, argumentative, carnal-minded, discontented, immoral, inconsiderate, unloving, self-inflated, selfish, or critical of others. Jesus does not envy, and Jesus is not boastful nor conceited. Jesus is not rude nor does He insist on His own way. Jesus is neither irritable nor resentful, and Jesus does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but He rejoices with the truth, He is the Truth. Only in and through Jesus are we able to bear all things, believe all things, hope all things and endure all things. When we consider this passage, let us look deeper in the significance of its true meaning, and earnestly pray that Christ may be formed in us so that we are enabled to Love As He Loves. 1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, develop in us the godly fruit of love. May we live in love and seek to love as Christ loved. Keep us from jealousy and boastfulness, and may the love of Jesus be seen in and through us, by the power of Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. |
