When Christ died for our sins it was a once and for all payment, and there is nothing more to do but to simply believe the gospel message that Christ died for our sins and was raised the third day. The result of trusting Christ is that we are removed from the kingdom of Satan and placed into the family of God forever. Past, present, and future sins are paid for by the Cross of Christ. As a result of being IN Christ, the Cross has a secondary meaning to us. Christ died UNTO sin: "So sin shall not have dominion OVER you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." Christ died to break the power of sin in our everyday life which means that sin does not have the power to dominate our lives as it does with non-believers. Praise God that Christ not only died FOR our sins, but He died UNTO sin so that the power of sin has been broken in our lives. We still have freewill and can allow sin to dominate if and when we choose. Let us not choose to allow sin to dominate our lives. Rather, let us choose to Let Christ Live In Us and through us, to His praise and glory. Romans 6:14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, thank You that Christ not only died for our sins but has died unto sin so that the power of sin no longer has power over us. Help us to make the right choices to follow you and listen to Your voice day by day. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.

The simple, common, everyday name of 'Jesus' has thus become the name that is greater and more eminent than every other name that is named, His name is to be the most excellent name that is named in heaven or earth, throughout time and into eternity. He is the unique Man, the incarnate Word of God Who has secured for us the forgiveness of sin, life everlasting, an eternal inheritance, and that which is over and above all that we could ask or imagine. He was made sin for us so that we, who deserve punishment, may be declared righteous and clothed in His own perfect purity. The life of the Christian should reflect his Lord. The attitude of Jesus should be mirrored in the life of every believer, and yet His was a life of deep pain and intense suffering. His was a life of humiliation, rejection, betrayal, and death. But His life of humiliation and death preceded His glorious Resurrection and exaltation, and we too must share in His suffering, and die to self if we are to live in newness of life and become a reflection of the beautiful Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 2:9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Father, that all we need can be found in Jesus. WE pray that we may decrease, and He may increase, in all we think and say and do, until Christ is formed in us, to Your praise and glory. Thank You that Christ is highly exalted and has been given the Name that is above every name. This we pray in the name of JESUS - Son of God and Son of Man - AMEN. God Is Exalted In His Power and there is no equal to be compared with His eternal-wisdom and His omniscient understanding. His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not ours. So, in the discourse that follows, spoken by the Lord Himself, we witness the most powerful display of God's wisdom. "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?" the Lord questions, "Have you ever given orders to the morning, or shown the dawn its place?" As God's rhetorical questions continue, we glimpse His sovereignty over all creation, from the stars, to the animals, to the weather, to the very residence of light and darkness. God's attributes speak for themselves and God needs no human witness to defend His cause or character, His words or His actions, nor is God obliged to answer our petulant and foolish questions as to why and how and when and what and who. Let us listen to God and sit at His feet so that we can gain a deeper knowledge of God and closer walk with Him. Job 36:22 “Behold, God is exalted by His power; Who teaches like Him? Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, too often we try to speak for You in ignorance and even attempt to defend You or advise You, when we actually need to quietly sit at Your feet and listen. Give us a teachable spirit, we pray, and draw us into a closer and more intimate communion with You. May you be exulted in our lives. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. |
