The Gospel of John was written that we might believe on the only begotten Son of God. The letters of John were written that we might believe in the name of the Son of God. The book of the Revelation was penned by John to all who believe in Christ Jesus Who is the Word made flesh, Son of God. All the writings of the apostle John are pointing us to Jesus so that we may believe in His name and know that we have life, wonderful life, the life of Christ within us, the Holy Spirit of life within us, abundant life, eternal life. As believers, we are identified with Christ's death and so as believers, we were crucified with Christ. But also, as believers, we are identified with Christ's Resurrection and because He lives, we too shall live eternally, for He has broken the power of sin and death. 1 John 5:13 I write these things To You Who Believe In The Name Of The Son Of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. Heavenly Father, what a joy to know that we are in Christ and that because we are identified with Him in His death, we are also identified with Him in newness of life. Thank You for our lives, our abundant lives, our eternal lives in Christ. In His name we Pray, AMEN.

This verse is further biblical clarification that eternal life is found only in Christ Jesus, He is the eternal Son of God and perfect Son of Man. Some people search in many places to discover eternal life outside of Christ, but it is not found in good works, denominational membership, philosophic teachings, scientific discovery, religious leanings, educational qualifications, legalistic practices, genetic modification, or any other attempts to attain perfection and everlasting life outside of God's declared way. Simply stated: "He who has the Son has the life, and he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life." Sinners who believe in the death, burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ as their sin-substitute have the resurrected life of Christ within, and nothing can alter their eternal destiny. God Himself is witness to the world that: "He Who Has The Son Has The Life and he who does not have the Son of God does not have eternal life," eternal life is in the Son. Those who believe God's witness of Christ, have His resurrected life within, but those who have rejected God's witness are already condemned themselves, because they have not believed in the only begotten Son of God. 1 John 5:12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. Heavenly Father, how we thank and praise You that we have received eternal life and the forgiveness of sin by trusting in Christ’s finished work at Calvary. Help us to be true witnesses to the simple yet profound truth, that He who has the Son has life, and he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. As believers, we are not only given the new resurrected life of Christ at rebirth, which must learn to abide in Christ, depend on Him, grow in grace, and mature in the faith, but we also have been given the permanent Holy Spirit of God to help us in our weaknesses. He has been given as a gift of God to guide us into all truth through the written Word of God. He is given to all believers as a pledge of our relationship to the Father, and as a guarantee of our position in Christ and a down-payment of the blessed hope we have in Him. The One Who Keeps Gods Commands and does not rely on the self-life, is able to rest in the love of Christ and He in him. The one who walks in spirit and truth is the one that knows that his body is a temple of the Holy Spirit Who was given to us by the Father as our Helper and Comforter, our Advocate and Teacher, and He it is Who bears witness with our human spirit that we are children of God and joint-heirs with Christ. 1 John 3:24 The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit. We pray that in His strength, we may learn to abide in You, day by day. We pray that we may grow in grace and in knowledge of the Lord Jesus so that the life of Christ may be manifested in us and His love would flow through us and out to others. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. God's love for us is astonishing in that: "While we were yet sinners Christ died for us." The whole glorious plan of salvation, which was purposed before the foundation of the world, is a testimony to the grace of our Heavenly Father and His amazing love for each one of us. Before all this could transpire, God had to prepare a body for His Son so that the eternal Son of God could be born into the human race (at the appointed time) as the perfect Son of Man in order that He could give His life as a ransom for many, including you and me. How very much our Father loves us who are now His children, but sadly the people who belong to this world don't recognize that we are God's children because they don't know Him. But praise God that our hope in Christ and everyone who has this hope fixed on Jesus, purifies themselves, just as Christ is pure. When we consider the glorious hope and eternal benefits that we have received freely, by grace through faith in Christ, how important it is that we choose to live our lives in spirit and in truth as unto the Lord. How important that we are not enticed by the lawless ways of the world, which is at enmity with our Father, but that we live in humble obedience and reverence of heart before Him, all the days of our life. 1 John 3:5 But you know that he appeared so that he might Take Away Our Sins. Heavenly Father, thank You for sending the Lord Jesus at the appointed time to come to earth as the sinless Son of Man in order to take away our sins. You could have left us eternally separated from Yourself and dead in our trespasses and sins but in Your grace, Christ came to earth, dying in our place and giving us His own resurrected life. Your love is beyond our understanding, but we praise and thank You with all the breath that is in us. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Do This And You Will Inherit Eternal Life. Love the Lord your God with ALL of your heart, ALL of your soul, ALL of your strength and ALL your mind, and love your neighbor as you love yourself, and if you DO THIS you will live. But in our fallen, sinful state we realize that we can never, ever love the Lord our God as He requires. Jesus was graciously pointing out that inheriting eternal life through the works of the Law was an impossibility for fallen sinners. Who in this world can honestly say that from birth to death that they love the Lord their God with ALL their heart, ALL their soul, ALL their strength, and ALL their mind? When a man or woman does not realize that they are lost and without hope in the world, they falsely consider that they can merit eternal life by good deeds or works of the Law. In Romans we read: "By the works of the Law shall no man living be justified." Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone in the finished work of Christ alone, there is no other way to the Father, except through the SON Who gave His life as a ransom for all who would believe in Him. Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law on our behalf for the forgiveness of sins and life everlasting. Luke 10:27 He answered, “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for showing us that we can never attain the perfect standard that You require for entrance into eternal life. What amazing love you showed to us, that Jesus paid the full price for our sins in His finished work on Calvary. Help us to love You with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength, and give us hearts of love to our neighbors and those in our lives. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Jesus is the Light of the world, the true Light of all mankind Who shines in the darkness and gives light to all who come into the world. In this fallen world, we are not only surrounded by an exterior, cultural darkness that proceeds from sin and Satan, but we discover an inner, destructive darkness that lurks within the very soul of mankind. This inner darkness has blackened the human heart, darkened our souls, and obscured mankind's understanding. A shroud of darkness covered this world as a result of sin, and light can have no fellowship with darkness, the two are mutually exclusive and incompatible. But God in His goodness and grace gave His only begotten Son to bring His pure Light into this world. Jesus came as the true Light of the world so that the world through Him might be saved. Jesus, the true Light that lights everyone who comes into the world. As we allow Christ to live His life in us, we are enabled to reflect the light of His love and to share the glorious gospel of grace with others in a lost world of deep darkness. John 1:8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the witness of Your Word, and thank You for sending Jesus into the world to be the Light of the world and Savior of mankind. Help us to walk in the light as He is in the light and to let the light of His love shine through us to others so that our lives would be true testimonies to Jesus. Just as John the Baptist prayed, as he bore witness to Jesus, we pray that we may decrease and Jesus may increase, until He is all in all in our lives. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. The cunning lies of false teachers and the deceptive doctrines, are stumbling-blocks which can easily trip up lukewarm believers. Such adversaries can entice the careless Christian away from the glorious gospel of God into a myriad of falsehoods, fabrications, and deception, while the violence and atrocities which are committed against the people of God, are satanically inspired to whip up fear in the heart of the strongest saints. But we should not fear, in Christ we are more than conquerors. Despite numerous opponents, adversaries, perils, and pitfalls, Paul reminds us that we are not to be alarmed by any of the opponents that seek to entrap and shipwreck us. Their animosity towards the children of God and their wily ways, are simply signs of the destruction that awaits them on the day of judgement. Their opposition to God's purpose, plan, and people, is an indication that they remain under the condemnation of the Lord, and a sign that perdition is their just reward. The people of God, have received the salvation of the Lord because they have been counted worthy and declared righteous, by faith in Christ's sacrifice for their sins and although in this world, they are ridiculed, threatened, persecuted, and abused, they will inherit the kingdom of heaven: but to you of salvation, and that from God Praise God that we have been granted salvation from God because of our faith in Christ. May we be ready and willing, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His name's sake. Philippians 1:28 and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, it is a sobering thought to know that those who reject the glorious gospel of Christ, bring judgement down on their own selves, and those that willfully oppose Your purpose and plan, are under Your eternal condemnation because they have not trusted in the One Person, Who alone has power over death, and in Whom are the words of eternal life. Use us as witnesses that points others to Christ, and we pray that we may decrease so that He may increase, until it is not us that lives, but Christ that lives in us. This we ask in His precious name, AMEN. Salvation in all its stages has nothing to do with our own merit or good works, but has everything to do with faith in Christ and HIS good work. He paid the price for sin on our account, freely and without cost, and He broke the power of sin in our life so that He could live in us, carry out His righteous work through us, and produce in us the fruit of righteousness as a living testimony of His goodness and grace. We are declared legally righteous at conversion (justification) and immediately imputed with Christ's righteousness. However, we have a responsibility to produce the fruit of personal righteousness during our Christian life (through a process of sanctification), as we carry out the good work God has prepared for us to do. We do this through faith in Christ, and in the power of the Spirit, until we are wholly perfected when we get to heaven (glorification). May We Be Filled With The Fruit Of Righteousness that only comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory of God and the praise of His holy name. May we show forth the fruit of righteousness through the praises of our lips, the attitude of our heart, and a life that is consecrated to His perfect will. May we abide in Him and He in us so that our lives will produce the fruit of the Spirit and we will stand sincere and blameless before Him. Philippians 1:11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Our United Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for imputing us with Christ's righteousness as a free gift of grace. We offer ourselves to You today and pray that in the power of the Spirit, we would be filled with the fruits of righteousness, for the glory of Your name. We pray that our lives would continue to produce much fruit, all for Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. In this first epistle to Timothy, Paul balances the encouragement and edification he gives, with some necessary warnings about teachers of the Law, who have deviated from the truth, while setting him the task to correct any erroneous doctrine. Sadly, there were false teachers who were not using the Law legitimately. They had missed the whole purpose of the Law and were undermining the true gospel of God. They were leading people astray with their incorrect understanding. When The Law Is Correctly Understood, it is good, it brings lost sinners to salvation in Christ. But when it is misapplied, misappropriated, and misunderstood, it is being used unlawfully, causing sinners to strive to do good works in their own strength, by attempting to keep the righteous requirements of the Law in the hope that God will forgive them because of their good works and meritorious acts. But this is not what Scripture teaches. When the question: "What must I do to be saved?" is asked, and the word "AND" becomes part of the answer: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and do this..... BEWARE! When any 'work of the flesh' is being added to Christ's finished work on the Cross, it is using the Law unlawfully. 1 Timothy 1:8 We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. Heavenly Father, how we praise and thank You that we are justified freely by Christ's finished work on the Cross, and that salvation is a free gift to all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You that our salvation does not depend on our merit, or anything that we do. Give us discernment to identify teachers who wittingly or unwittingly, use the Law unlawfully, by adding to Christ's finished work on the Cross. How we praise and thank You that our salvation does not depend on work that we do, but is dependent on the work that Christ did at Calvary, on our behalf, for which we praise and glorify Your holy name, AMEN. God has strewn our path with encouraging promises, which are scattered throughout His Word. He has pledged to lead us in the paths of righteousness and make the way we take straight and secure. But can we trust His promises? Can we be certain that His Word is true? Indeed we can, and this truth is expressed in many of the early psalms of David. The Promises Of God are founded on nothing less than the perfection of God's holy nature. They are rooted in the eternal faithfulness of His everlasting Word, and His Word is securely anchored on the rock of our salvation which is Jesus Whose name is Faithful and True. The way we travel may not be the path of our choosing, nor the way we expected to trudge. The path we take may be covered with difficulties and dangers, but His grace is sufficient for every eventuality we may encounter. He knows the best way for each of us to take for He is the WAY, and we need to trust Him to lead us, even when the route is overshadowed by dark and thunderous clouds. As we trust His Word, carry out His will, abide in Him, and He is us, we will bear the fruit of patience and hone our faith in Him. His way will lead us deeper into fellowship with Himself and enable us to mature in our faith, grow in grace, and gain a deeper knowledge of the holy. He desires us to enjoy a satisfying and unbroken communion with Himself. Psalm 25:10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth, To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies. Our United Prayer:
Lead us, Lord, in the path of Your choosing. Lead us, we pray, along a level path for Your name's sake. Thank You, Father, that You are a faithful God. You are the One who leads and guides, and You are the One Who corrects and trains. Lord, shepherd us along the path of Your choosing. Your love and faithfulness are without measure, and we trust You to lead us along the path of righteousness all the days of our lives. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. Too often when we look at a verse in Scripture, we interpret it from a present-day, human viewpoint, rather than in its biblical context and from God's perspective - and this is one such verse. Many look at this verse and say, "Ah! If I am pure in heart, then I will see God. I want to see God... so I will do this good thing and perform that righteous act, to make sure that I am pure in heart - and then I will see God." The moment that we are saved by grace through faith, we have an assurance that we are part of The Group That Are Blessed By God and will indeed see Him. Not because of what we have done to make our hearts pure, but because of what Christ has done for us so that by faith in His sacrificial death and glorious Resurrection, we are given a pure and holy heart, which will see God. However, this beautiful beatitude is equally relevant to Church age believers today. Purity of heart, together with meekness of soul and poverty of spirit, is not something that can be attained by self-effort or external, sanctimonious works of the Law. A heart is purified by the inner work of the Holy Spirit in the man or women who is rightly related to God through faith in Christ. How blessed are we, who are inwardly cleansed of sin by the Spirit of God.. through faith in Christ Jesus, our Lord? Blessed indeed, are the pure in heart, "for they shall see God." We have already seen Him, in the face of Jesus Christ. Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that our hearts have been cleansed of sin, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, our God and Savior. Thank You that He is the image of the invisible God, Who has been revealed to us, by faith. Keep us low at the Cross and broken before You, and open our eyes to see more and more of His beauty and grace, and we pray that we may live to His praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. Let us run to obtain the reward; let us run to win! We do not run the race set before us to win our salvation or get to heaven, that is a free gift of grace. We participate in the Christian race to win a promised reward and gain the approval of our Father in heaven. We are not to live our Christian life in a half-hearted manner, but rather we are to give it our all. We should run the race with single-minded resoluteness of purpose, determined to do our very best to the glory of God. We are to run so that we may obtain the prize. We can run the race in a bed of sickness or at the kitchen sink. We can run to win at the office or at the supermarket, the promised prize is for all who live godly in Christ Jesus and who conduct their Christian life in spirit and in truth. We are to be faithful to the point of death, and stand fast in the Lord and in the power of His might. We are to be disciplined in our lives, exercise self-control, and consider the needs of others before our own. We are to endure patiently through our trials, rejoicing in the Lord always, praying continually, and in everything giving thanks, this is the will of God for all who are running the Christian race. 1 Corinthians 9:24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we pray that we will run the race that is set before us, to Your praise and glory. May we conduct our Christian lives in the power of Your Holy Spirit. May we exercise self-control and consider the needs of others before our own. May we endure patiently in the trials of life. Lord, we want to run the race to win, to Your honor and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. The one and only Savior of the world hung on a cruel wooden cross, with His arms of forgiveness wide open to all who would trust His name. The armies of heaven were at His disposal, but He could never respond to the jeering crowd that taunted, "If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross and save Yourself," for to do so would have shut the door to paradise for everyone and slammed closed the gates of heaven forever, with no hope for mankind in the world. Jesus's gracious prayer of forgiveness prompted one criminal on the cross behind him his request when, with a repentant heart he cried, "This man has done nothing wrong," and then turning towards the Lord he pleaded, "Jesus, remember me when you come into Your kingdom." I doubt that the thieving criminal expected to hear Christ's merciful reply, "Today you will be with Me in paradise," nor would he have anticipated the wonderful joy into which he would shortly enter. But immediately, his simple faith was rewarded with a promise of paradise in the company of the Redeemer Himself. Though salvation is conditional on the repentant sinner turning to Christ, this beautiful passage gives assurance that It Is Never Too Late To Look To The Lord Jesus And LIVE. It demonstrates that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ, and is not dependent on any liturgical sacraments, baptismal rituals, good works, man-made doctrines, or legalistic requirements. It is faith in the Person, the Work, and the Word of the Savior that secures for us the forgiveness of sins and life everlasting. Luke 23:43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Father, for the beautiful gift of salvation that is given to all that trust in the name of the Lord. We thank You that the way into the paradise of God has been reopened through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and our sins, past, present, and future, have all been forgiven simply because we trust in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. In His name we Pray, AMEN. It Is Because Of God's Grace And Mercy that sinful mankind is able to be redeemed by the blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and our sins washed away forever. It is in the power of the Holy Spirit that we are born from above and placed into the family of God. When we believed in Christ as Savior, our sins were forgiven and we were declared righteous before God. When we trusted Christ, we were immediately given a new spiritual birth; a new spiritual life in Him, by means of the Holy Spirit. A multitude of blessings were showered on us the very hour we first believed. We were immediately baptized into the Body of Christ, which is the Church, and were placed into the family of God. We were given a heavenly inheritance and were seated with Christ in heaven. Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God for His abundant grace, mercy and love for us. Let us praise Him, honor Him, and with joy in our hearts, acknowledge the wondrous gift of salvation given to all who believe. Heavenly Father, thank You for the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You, Lord, for Your amazing grace that has been poured out on us through the Holy Spirit, to the praise of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the glory of God the Father, in Jesus name we Pray, AMEN. God is our Savior, and our hope is in Him throughout the day and night. How important therefore to learn the ways of the Lord. How vital to discover which paths He would have us to follow. And the Word of God is a light to our path and a lamp to illumine the way that God would have us tread. The Word of God is an instruction manual to teach us His ways, as well as a love-letter to all His children. We are not to walk in the counsel of wicked people, stand in the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of scoffers. We are to commit our way to the LORD; walk in the path that God has ordained, and trust in Him, knowing that He has promised to guide all those that are humble in heart and will teach them His way and His judgments. In the past, God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Let us die to self and live unto the Lord so that we may know His ways, learn the lessons He would teach us, and Follow The Path That He Would Have Us Take. Psalm 25:4 Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, give us teachable spirits and a desire to know Your ways. Keep us separated from the ways of wicked people and help us to walk daily in the path that you have set before us. Open our eyes to Your truth as we study Your Word, and help us to listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, day by day. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. |
