This verse is sometimes translated, "Noah was a righteous man and perfect in his generations." Noah was called righteous because He 'walked with God' or 'trusted God', but he was 'perfect in his generations' because his genetic profile had not been contaminated by the fallen angelic beings who left their first estate, engaged in sexual acts with women, and produced genitally modified men which was an abomination in the eyes of God. The very first time that Scripture mentions the word 'grace' is in connection with this man, Noah, who believed the Word of the Lord. Although God determined to wipe man from the earth, together will all the animals and birds, we read: "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord." Noah found grace in God's eyes because He Believed The Word Of The Lord. Noah demonstrated his faith by obeying God's instructions to build an ark for the saving of his family. So we read that Noah was 'a righteous man'. Noah was blameless in his time and walked with God because he was a sinner saved by grace. He was a man who walked with God, by faith. He was declared blameless in his time and was credited with righteousness - by grace through faith. Noah was not sinless, but he was declared righteous by God because he believed the Word of the Lord which is why we read: Genesis 6:9 This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the beautiful example of Noah who was a man who believed in You, trusted Your Word, obeyed Your instructions, warned the wicked of the consequences of sin and found grace in Your eyes because of his faith, which was credited to him as righteousness. Thank You that we too have found grace in Your eyes and have been declared righteous. We pray that we may walk in spirit and truth and remain blameless in Your eyes. Help us to boldly proclaim the glorious gospel of grace to the lost, and may our lives be witnesses to Your goodness and grace and a warning of the wrath that is to come. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN.
