The Lamb Who was to be slain from the foundation of the world, meekly stood before His disciples on this unique Passover of all Passovers, to proclaim: "This is My body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of Me." The staggering consequences of this poignant event was veiled from the eyes of the bewildered disciples, yet the eternal significance of this amazing, sacrificial action will reverberate down through the corridors of time, and throughout the eternal ages that are to come. The Lord Jesus was The Bread Of Life, the hidden manna that had been sent from heaven. He was to give His own life as a ransom for many. And as He broke the unleavened bread which represented His sinless body, and offered the cup which spoke of His lifeblood being poured out for every member of sinful humanity, it pictured His own precious body being broken on the Cross and His very lifeblood being poured out before God the Father as the only offering for sin, to pay the price for your sins and for mine. Luke 22:19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”Prayer Wall Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, it is staggering to try to realize that God Himself took on mortal flesh so that He could come and pay the price for our sins, so that we could be forgiven. It is indeed a thing of eternal wonderment that God should clothe Himself in human flesh to become the only possible sacrifice for sin. It is a thing of everlasting thanksgiving that Christ broke His body and spilt His life-blood so that by believing in His name, we might have everlasting life. For this, we praise Your name forever and ever, AMEN.
