The True Lamb Of God

 John the Baptist was the last and the greatest of God's prophets to Israel, for he was chosen by God to be His herald of the King of kings and to the voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Make straight the way of the Lord,"
 John had heard the voice of God from heaven declaring, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased," and He witnessed the descent of the Holy Spirit as He came and rested upon Jesus in bodily form like a dove and this was the sign to John from God that Jesus was the prophesied Messiah of Israel and the promised Redeemer of the world.
 The True Lamb Of God came to earth to pay the price for the sin of mankind. He was to die on the Cross at the very time that the Jews were slaughtering their own little lambs on the altar of the temple.
 They were oblivious to the truth of God's redemptive plan. They were blinded to the truth that Christ was the final Passover Lamb for Israel. They did not recognize that Jesus was the true and only Lamb of God, the sacrificial offering Who takes away the sin of the world.
 Let us learn from Israel's mistakes and not become blinded to the truth of our salvation, that the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world, has taken our sins onto His sinless shoulders, redeeming us with His most precious blood. 
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus as the true Lamb of God Who has taken away all our sins. We am so thankful that Jesus died on the Cross for us, becoming the only substitute for our sins. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN.
