PRAYING TOGETHER AS A FAMILY
Faith sets no limit on God's ability, for the one who is ready and willing to trust Him in all things, submit to His will, and not permit mountainous problems or seemingly impossible situations to adversely influence their faith in God's ability, is the one who will witness great things in their life. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and His ability to heal the broken-hearted, cast out demons, set the captive free, make the lame to walk, the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak, has never diminished over time. Nothing is too difficult for You. “’If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the lessons we can learn from the man who cried out to the Lord Jesus for help and was reminded that "all things are possible to those who believe." May we never forget that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever, and that Your power to heal and help in every situation, is as sure today as it was when You healed the sick and turned water into wine. Thank You that by grace through faith in Jesus, we can come to the throne of grace for mercy to find help in time of need. Keep us from doubting Your Word, increase our faith in the days ahead, and prevent us from being adversely influenced by the mountainous situations we seem to be facing. Lord, we do believe. Increase our love and trust for You. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. The Lord knows the importance of differentiating between a genuine minister and a vicious wolf. Only those who are saved by grace, abiding in Christ, walking in the spirit, and maintaining fellowship with the Father, can bring forth the fruit of righteousness. Others make a pretense of spirituality, professing to know Him with their lips while hiding a heart of unbelief and rebellion. God alone is able to read the heart of religious leaders. Only God Can Discern Human Thoughts and knows if faith is genuine. Only He knows if humans are doing His will or not. God is omniscient, but we are not! We are incapable of reading someone's heart. We have no supernatural ability to read men's minds and so He gave us a bona fide indicator of the state of a human's heart. It is God's will that we admonish unruly brethren, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone, and refuse to repay evil with evil. True ministers encourage one another and seek after that which is good, which brings glory to God. The godly minister rejoices in the Lord, prays without ceasing, and gives thanks in everything, knowing that this is God's will for all His children. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the warnings of false prophets and teachers in your Word. We pray that you would guard the hearts and minds of all your children and protect them from false prophets and ungodly teachers who seek to devour your flock. Help us all to identify the fruit of those in positions of leadership in the Church who come to us in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. Lord, give us discernment to know the truth and reject those who do not honor Your will. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. God is holy and He cannot look upon sin, while humans are sinners who have sin natures which are always and forever at enmity with God. This state of affairs causes a total and eternal separation to exist between God and man - and between man and God. When unregenerate humans fall into the hands of an angry God, it is a terrible thing. But when it is the people of God who choose to make alliances with unregenerate nations instead of trusting in the God of their salvation Who bought them with His precious blood, it is indeed, a shocking indictment. Do we trust in the works of humans or place our faith in the strength of fleshly achievements? Do we put our confidence in our bank balance, our negotiating skills, or our government's provision? Do we place our hope in our personal abilities, the achievements of humans, the works of the flesh, or ungodly alliances? Or, do we Trust In The Lord Our God with all our heart and place our hope in His unfailing love and promised provision? This is what the LORD says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the LORD. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are a God Who never changes. Thank You that Your love and grace is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Forgive us for the times that we have wandered far away from You and drunk from the broken cisterns of this world. May we never place our trust in humans nor put our confidence in our own abilities by depending on works of the flesh or trusting in our own strength. Let us not be enticed away from Your Word of truth and help us to keep the eyes of our hearts and the meditation of our minds on the Lord Jesus, for He alone is worthy. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. There are many fine qualities to be found in a virtuous woman, or in a righteous man, and being clothed in strength and excellence, dignity and honor is a beautiful way to describe the person that trusts in the Lord and reverences His holy name. So often, in the Word of God, the believer is expected to be clothed in righteousness, strength and humility, shod with the gospel of peace and covered with a garment of gracious praise. Each virtue that is manifested in the life of a believer is simply the reflected glory of Christ's own perfect righteousness and His gracious humility. When we are clothed in Christ's righteousness, it is His dignified strength and His gracious love that shines through. May we be so Immersed In Christ Jesus Our Lord that we are thus enabled to glory in the God of our salvation and to rejoice in the bright hope for the future. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, our hearts rejoice in You, You are the One that has forgiven our sins and clothed us in the righteousness of the Lord Jesus as free gifts of grace. As we look for that Blessed Hope to come, may we draw ever closer to the Lord Jesus today, so that His virtue and strength, goodness, grace, and love, are increasingly reflected through us to others, and may we sing praises to Your honor and glory. In Jesus name we Pray, AMEN. Sometimes we can wander from the Lord or murmur against Him in unbelief, or we can simply become so familiar with the words of Scripture that we forget Who our everlasting, gracious Creator God is, and of what He is truly capable. But this is a Scripture that we would do well to recall to mind on those occasions when the stresses and strains of life cause our faith to be tested, or on those occasions when the pressures of life start to bear down on us or we find we despair or doubts flood into our being. He Is Our Everlasting Creator, Who knows the end from the beginning and has scheduled every day of our lives, from start to finish. He is our eternal Provider Who never gets weary and Who bears us up in His arms of love. Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You, the everlasting God, the eternal Creator, cares for us, Your children. Let us never wander into foolish pride, thinking we know everything about You, Your ways are unsearchable. When we are weary, please bring to our remembrance that in You is our hope and strength and that You do not grow weary. Praise Your holy name! In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. |
