Unless our knowledge is founded on a reverential fear of the Lord and unless our wisdom is established from on high, we run the risk of becoming wise in our own understanding - rather than fools for Christ. Jesus is the foundation upon which our knowledge is founded and He alone commands our reverential fear, humble worship and eternal devotion - for in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.. and we are positioned in Him. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us and convicting us of sin, righteousness and judgement and thank You that by faith in Christ we have been brought into Your kingdom and placed into His body. To You alone belongs our reverential fear, humble worship and eternal devotion, through time and into eternity - in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. Having been saved by grace through faith, it is only as we live by grace through faith and press on to the goal of our high calling in Christ.. with diligence, dedication and discipline.. (and as we pursue the goal of our calling) that we are empowered to grow in grace and in moral excellence. It is only as we appropriate what is ours in Christ and zealously apply it to our everyday lives.. that we grow in our knowledge of Christ, become self-controlled; patient; godly and gentle - good and kind. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we are so blessed to be saved by grace through faith in Christ and we desire to live godly in Christ Jesus and to grow in grace and to produce spiritual fruit that is so honoring to You. Help us to be diligent and disciplined in our walk - not relying on our own abilities and excellence - but trusting in Your many precious promises, so that we may appropriate all that is ours in Christ. We pray that in His power we may become the person You desire us to be - this we ask in Jesus name, AMEN. When we are in Christ, God sees us as perfect, through His Son, but in order to LIVE the life that Christ lived on earth in spirit and truth; in utter dependence on the Father and in total obedience to Him, we need to submit to Christ, to live in us so that we are not positioned in Him but functioning through Him and allowing the very life of Christ to be lived in and through us. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Our United Prayer:
Thank You Father for this glorious truth that we are positioned in Christ, Who has become unto us wisdom, righteousness and redemption. We pray that we may also live the Christ-life, and allow His life to be lived through us, so that we are not only positioned in Him but allowing His life to be lived through us, in Whose name we pray, AMEN. Let us walk in the light as He is in the light and may the light of His presence within each of our hearts, shine through our lives to proclaim to all we meet, the light of the glorious gospel that has been shed abroad in our hearts and lives. "While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for lifting us out of the darkness into Your kingdom of light. May the light of Your love and grace shine in and through us, and may we be used by You as a reflection of the true Light that shines on all those that we come in contact with daily. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. When bitterness is allowed to take root in our hearts it can grow into a poisonous volcano that spews its toxic venom over all who pass by. Bitterness is also like a tree, which can branch into every area of our life and cause devastation, distress and destruction - to ourselves and to others. We are instructed to get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. We are to be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave us. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, forgive us for any bitterness that we have harbored in our hearts against You or others. Thank You that we have been forgiven by grace through faith in Christ. Help us to live our lives as unto Him and help us to be slow to anger, quick to forgive and abounding in steadfast love, kindness, compassion, forgiveness and grace - to the glory of Christ in Whose name we pray, AMEN. The simple gospel of grace requires no effort for we are saved by grace, through faith in Christ Jesus. But living our lives as unto the Lord requires patient endurance as we press on, day by day, in the footsteps of our Savior to the goal of our calling, which is to be conformed into the image of Christ. This takes effort and courage which only comes from God – but in so doing we are obeying the Lord as we press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. So let us keep on keeping on, and "let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we want to press on in our lives, to become more and more like the Lord Jesus. We know that it will require us to put our hands to the plough and press on, with the patient endurance that only comes from You. We pray that we may not lose heart or grow weary in doing the good works that You have prepared for us to do. Thank You that in due time we may reap a fruitful reward, if we do not give up. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. Such a life is available to us, by means of the holy Spirit, and expressed through our life in Christ – but only those who choose God-dependency over Self-dependency can avail themselves of God’s love. Let us love one another, for love is of God. Let us love each other with brotherly affection and seek to outdo one another in showing honor and grace., to all. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love. we pray that You would pour Your godly love into our hearts so that Your love may stream through us to all. That we too may love with a brotherly affection and consider the needs of others before our own, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. May the hope we have in Christ and the faith we have in God be built on the truth of His Word and grounded on a sure conviction. May we never stumble when situations seem to go amiss, and may we be firmly persuaded that, "He who started a good work in each of our lives is well able to bring it to completion." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we can be so entrenched in our own thinking that sometimes we doubt Your Word and question Your promises, often wishing we had some concrete 'proof’ of Your love for us – and yet Your Word gives us all the affirmation of this absolute reality we need – for Your Word and Promises are sure and Your faithfulness stretches beyond the limits of time and space. Thank You for the gift of faith, and we pray that day by day our loving trust in You and the reality of Your Word will become increasingly established within our hearts – for we long to please You in all we say and do and are. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. Our actions should reflect purity of attitudes and not be carried out grudgingly or simply due to necessity or need. There should be no inner murmurings or resentments, but rather our work should flow from an inner being that delights to be of service - and seeks to undertake all that we do enthusiastically and with blessed goodwill, as though we were doing it all for the Lord Jesus Himself. From this moment forward, whatever we do, whether in word or deed, let us undertake to do it with a pure heart and seek to do it as unto the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through Him. Our United Prayer:
Loving Lord, as we undertake the daily roles and responsibility in our lives, we pray that we will undertake it willingly, enthusiastically and to the best of our ability. We pray that in all we say and do we may do it unto You and for Your praise and glory, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. Let us seek to live our lives as God intended.. with right thinking, right speaking, right acting and right praying, so that the peace of God which transcends all understanding shall guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father thank You that You are the One Who has promised Your inner, living, perfect peace to all who will read, learn, digest and apply all the principles of godly living that are set out for our learning in the holy Scriptures. Help us to live our lives as You intended.. to rejoice continually, to pray without ceasing and to give thanks in all things, knowing that this is Your will for our lives, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. When our will is aligned with the will of God, as was intended in the beginning, then the things that delight our Heavenly Father will naturally become the joy of our own heart. When we delight ourselves in the Lord and take pleasure in the things that are uppermost on God's own heart, we will discover that they become the joy of our heart. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, forgive us for the times when we have delighted ourselves in wrong things. Keep us from fretting over evildoers in this increasingly confusing world, and help us to keep the eyes of our hearts on Jesus and to delight ourselves in the things of God. Align our thoughts to Your thoughts, we pray, and our will to the will of God. May the desires of our hearts unite with Your will and eternal purposes, for Your everlasting praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. A heart is purified by the inner work of the Holy Spirit in the man or women who is rightly related to God - through faith in Christ. How blessed are we, who are inwardly cleansed of sin by the Spirit of God.. through faith in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Blessed indeed, are the pure in heart, "for they shall see God." Indeed, we have already seen Him - in the face of Jesus Christ. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that our hearts have been cleansed of sin, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, our God and Savior. Thank You that He is the image of the invisible God, Who has been revealed to us, by faith. Keep us low at the Cross and broken before You, and open our eyes to see more and more of His beauty and grace, and we pray that may we live to His praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. Knowing that our salvation is secure in His worthy hands, every facet that touches our lives is equally under the protection of His mighty power, for He has become the foundational bedrock upon which our confidence rests and He is the ever-flowing fountain of living strength that infills our hearts and overspills into songs of worship and shouts of praise to His wonderful name. A day is coming when we will stand up and sing a harmonious chorus, in unity, in spirit and in truth, "Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the LORD GOD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation." Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Lord, for our wonderful salvation. Praise the Lord O our souls, for You are a great and mighty God. As we go into the world today as Your representatives, give us increased boldness to speak the name of Jesus. May we life reflect Your grace and goodness, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus’ name we pray, AMEN. Today we are strangers in a hostile world and in a place that is passing away, but our hope is securely grounded on Christ Who is our chief apostle and our great high priest. Let us live upright and godly lives in this present age as we wait for that blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, in Whom we trust. Bless all on this special day as we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, our personal savior, thru him, all things are possible. Our United Prayer:
Dear God and Father how we worship You for Your overflowing grace and abundant mercy, by bringing us into Your family by the new birth and setting before us the living hope, through the resurrection of our dear Lord Jesus from the dead. Thank You Father for this day and every day we are blessed with to share your word with others, in Jesus name we pray AMEN. We were given an eternal inheritance and made joint-heirs with Christ in His heavenly kingdom. The power of sin and death in our lives was broken forever and because we were positioned in Christ and identified with Him, we were positioned in heavenly places in Christ. God foreordained all this for us, before the foundation of the world - proving His love towards us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Our United Prayer:
Loving Father thank You for loving us so much that you sent Christ to die for us, to be our Savior and Lord, in Whose name we pray, AMEN. |
