There are two mindsets in the world today 1) a biblical mindset and 2) a secular worldview. The first is a God-focused, Christian mindset that is rooted in the wisdom and knowledge of God and the second is a God-rejecting, Christ-hating, worldly view, that is grounded on the wisdom of the world - where people are the focus of their own attention. How easy it is for any one of us to be influenced away from the Word of God and a biblical mindset into the man-centered focus of a secular worldview. May we recognize the serious spiritual danger we are in and determine to teach the truth diligently to our children, and to our children's children when we sit in our houses, and when we walk by the way, and when we lie down, and when we rise up. "You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this important lesson. Keep us alert to the dangers of falling into a worldly mindset and help us to keep the eyes of our hearts on Jesus. We pray for the younger generation that are surrounded by increasing attacks on the Word of God. Help us all to teach the truth of God's Word to our children at every opportunity and protect the hearts and minds of our children and grandchildren. This we pray in Jesus' name, AMEN. The very first verse makes an incredible statement about the ownership of the world and everything contained within it boundaries. The world belongs to God, together with all those who dwell within its borders. Let us never forget that He is the immortal, invisible God Who has set eternity in the hearts of all His people and that by faith in His only begotten Son we have the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein," Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, how we praise and thank You that You are the great King of glory and Lord of hosts Who created the world and everything in it. May we never forget to rejoice that our names are written in heaven, for You are our Maker and Redeemer and by the blood of Christ we have been saved. Praise Your Holy name, AMEN. We are indeed fearfully and wonderfully made and God has placed wisdom in our inward parts and given us understanding in Christ. He has given us all things for life and godliness and has made us alive together with Christ. He has raised us up from the miry clay, positioned us in Him, accepted us in the Beloved, and seated us together with Christ in heavenly places. And God made known to us what are the riches of the glory of the mystery among the Gentiles (which was hidden in ages past), "which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." Oh, the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord? "For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we stand amazed at Who You are and what You have done for us, sinners, who were dead in our trespasses and sins, but in Christ have been raised up into newness of life in Him. How we praise and glorify You, to You be all glory, honor and might, and power. Forever and ever, AMEN. We have been placed into the Body of Christ and become one with our Lord. We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ, and were predestined unto adoption of sons by Jesus Christ Himself. We have been permanently present by the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit of God, the One Whom angels worship and adore. And we should be holy and without blame before him in love, all the days of our lives. Let us worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness and bow down in awe and wonder. And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” Our United Prayer:
Father God, the glory of Your Person and the perfection of Your character amazes us. May we lift our voices to You every day like the all those who sing around Your throne: "Holy, holy holy is the Lord of hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory." Praise Your holy name! In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. The wonder of the heavens tell forth the glory of God and the wider expanse of God's amazing creation continues to declare day by day of the amazing work of God's creative hands. Creation is one of two “books' (creation and conscience), that God has given to every man born of woman and every woman begotten of man. These 'scrolls' tell forth the wonders of His name. The shocking truth is that in our pride and foolishness some have refused to read, recognize and honor the signature of our Creator-God.. in His astonishing book of Creation and the inner witness of our own God-given conscience. "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, when we look into the heavens and see the splendor of Your handiwork and the glories of Your creative power, we are moved to proclaim Your glory and to declare the wonderful works of Your mighty hand. But when we look to the cross of Calvary and see Christ:- dead, buried and resurrected to life.. so that by faith in Him we might be reconciled back to God; be forgiven of our sins and become Your children and heirs - we are lost in love and praise, AMEN. There are many that profess faith in one God which is a teaching that not only dominates Christianity but also Judaism, Islam, and other religious groups and certain cults. But as James points out, "you believe that God is one... and you do well - the demons also believe, and shudder." Yes, even the fallen angels and unredeemable demons, believe in the existence of God... but they tremble at the coming judgement and final punishment, which they know awaits them. Belief in One God is a step towards biblical faith, but believing in the wrong God is an unbiblical faith that leads to condemnation. True faith must be placed in the One and Only, True, Living, and Eternal God, "and His Son, Jesus Christ, Whom He has sent." "You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us to examine ourselves to make sure we are in the faith. Lord, we believe that Jesus died for our sins and that He rose again, the third day, to pay the price for our sins and the sins of the whole world. Lord, we are not worthy to gather up the crumbs under Your table, but we believe that Christ came to pay the price for OUR sins, when He died on the Cross and we believe He broke the power of sin and death in our lives and has imputed us with His own righteousness, by faith, for which we are eternally thankful. We praise and thank You for Your goodness and grace towards us. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN. Although in its historical context this verse is mainly towards the nation of Israel, there is much that we can learn from these inspired words of Scripture and much that we can apply in our own lives. How we praise our heavenly Father for Calvary, that our sins are forgiven; that there is no more condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus; that we have been placed in union with Christ and accepted forever. How important to know the Scriptures that are written for our learning.. and to read, mark; learn; inwardly digest and apply their godly instructions during this age and to rightly divide the word of truth, so that we may grow in a knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. "Therefore repent and turn back, that your sins may be wiped out so that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord," Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word of truth. Help us to read it with understanding and to learn all the lessons that You would teach us. We pray that we may live godly lives to Your praise and glory as we look forward to that day when we will finally receive our promised times of refreshing and we will all worship together - this we pray in Jesus name, AMEN. Christ's gained a triumphant victory over sin and death on the Cross, which climaxed with His glorious resurrection from the dead... and this verse gives insight into what His glorious resurrection means for all who are in Christ. Every member of Christ's Body will be transformed, spirit, soul, and body, and this perishable body will be changed into an imperishable body, and this mortal will put on immortality. "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, how much we love You and praise Your name for ever and ever. We are not worthy to pick up the crumbs under Your table and yet You have raised us up and seated us together with Christ Jesus in heavenly places - by sending Your only begotten Son to pay the incredible price for our sins and to break the power of death in our lives. We praise Your name for ever and ever. All glory and honor be Yours for ever and ever, AMEN. Like Christ we too are to walk in spirit and in truth, and to live our lives in total submission and humble obedience to the indwelling, Holy Spirit of God. Like our heavenly Lord, we too are to become a servant of all, without fear and without favor.. without prejudice and without discrimination - without cultural bigotry, perceived biases or hidden prejudices, so that in Him we bring glory of His holy name - and bring souls into His everlasting kingdom. "My brethren, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we pray that Jesus may be seen in us and we pray that in the power of the Holy Spirit.. all we say and do will be done to Your honor and glory, in Whose name we pray, AMEN. For the unbeliever, this is a shocking truth that many seek to ignore or dismiss, but it is a sure fact in the future for all who do not believe. Our Lord Jesus shared our human frailty so that He could willingly give His life as a ransom for all who believe on His name. He shared our humanity so we could share in His life. It is appointed for man to die once, but for the Christian, Christ's death became our death, and the judgement of God's wrath was poured out on Him instead of us. Death has lost its sting because Christ paid the price for sin on our account and was judged in our place. "And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment," Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, what a sobering verse this is, knowing that all mankind will be judged. Thank You that our judgement will be at the Seat with all other believers, where no judgement is given because Christ paid the price for sin on our account and was judged in our place. When we think of the Great Judgement of all unbelievers we shudder, because those who did not trust Christ and receive His free gift of salvation will be judged and thrown into the lake of fire. May we freely tell all we meet of Jesus' free gift so that many will trust Him and partake in the Judgement as believers. As for us, we pray that we may live a life that is honoring to You so that at the time of Judgement we may receive rewards and not suffer loss of rewards. In Jesus' name, AMEN. A little but important message of hope. These encouraging words point to a time beyond the coming Tribulation. It looks beyond the time of troubles to a day when the New Covenant, which God promised will be fully and finally ratified and implemented in the promised kingdom rule of Christ. "Call to Me and I will answer you," are God's words of encouragement to the weary. "Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are a good and faithful God Whose Word stands fast forever and ever. Thank You that all Your promises to us remain in Christ Jesus our Lord. Thank You that You are a listening God Who hears the calls and cries of Your people, and thank You for the many precious promises that will never fail, because You are faithful and true to Your Word. It is wonderful to know that the faithful of God, were prepared to endure mocking, loneliness, imprisonment, and rejection, so we might have the holy Scriptures which guide us into all truth. And thank You that Jesus came to be our substitute for sin and endure the pain and suffering of the Cross so that we might live and reign with Him forever. Praise Your holy name! AMEN. Today it is the gospel of the grace of God that the Church has been called to preach - a message that has been faithfully proclaimed for 2000 years. A message that will continue to be taught to a lost and dying world until Jesus comes to take us to be with Himself - the gospel that proclaims that Christ died for the sins of the whole world ..that He rose again and is seated at the right hand of the Father, so that whosever believes on HIM will not perish but have everlasting life. With the declining trend in Christianity today, We Need An Ongoing World Revival, one that never ceases until the day the Lord comes. "And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable. Thank You that we have been saved through our faith in Christ and that the day is coming when all nations will once again proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom to a lost and dying world. We pray that a multitude without number will be saved during that time of terrible tribulation - and we will give You all the glory and praise for Your goodness and grace to the children of all, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. Let us pray for those that are overseers in local churches and shepherds in the Body of Christ today, that each one may take to heart this important command to be on their guard for their own spiritual well-being, and to take responsibility for protecting all the flock of God with sound doctrine and a disciplined life.. as they oversee the Body of Christ. Let us pray that they guard their own hearts as well as guiding and shepherding the church of God, which our Savior, Jesus Christ purchased with His own precious blood over 2000 years ago. "Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Word of God which is profitable for teaching; rebuking; correcting and training in righteousness. May we individually and collectively be on our spiritual guard, not only for our own well-being but also for those that You have seen fit to place in our lives. Give grace and wisdom to all who are called to be elders or overseers in local churches today, and protect all believers who have fallen prey to false teachers or who have been exposed to misleading doctrines. Protect the hearts and minds of all Your children and guide each one of us into the way of truth - this we ask in Jesus name, AMEN. While the Lord set the stars, sun and moon in place to govern the day and the night, it was man who was made in the image of God who was ordained to rule over the earth as God's appointed regent. God created us to have dominion over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air, the cattle, and over all the earth and every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. Man was the one creature that was made in the image and likeness of his Creator to rule and reign the earth as God's supreme authority. No wonder the psalmist in his song of praise to his Creator begins and ends this crescendo of adoration with the words: "O LORD, our Lord. How majestic is Your name in all the earth! "When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place," Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, we stand amazed when we consider the insignificance of man in the context of the splendors of the extended universe, and yet, You loved us so much that You gave Your only begotten Son to pay the price for our sins. For this we give You eternal praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN. The heavens declare the glory of God to humanity and the scriptures increasingly unveil His perfect character and holy attributes to all the children of men, as we see multiple examples of His loving-kindness, His long-suffering mercy and His gracious faithfulness to all generations. Let us therefore walk in the light as He is in the light - and may the light of God in Christ shine in our hearts and show forth in our lives, so that others may see the light of Christ shining in our lives as we abide in Him and He in us. "This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your glorious message of Salvation and for unveiling Your perfect character and holy attributes through the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You that we have been taken out of the kingdom of darkness and placed into the kingdom of Your dear Son. May the light of His life and love be seen in us and use us we pray to reflect the light of the glorious gospel of grace to a lost and darkened world, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN |
