PRAYING TOGETHER AS A FAMILY
There are two mindsets in the world today 1) a biblical mindset and 2) a secular worldview. The first is a God-focused, Christian mindset that is rooted in the wisdom and knowledge of God and the second is a God-rejecting, Christ-hating, worldly view, that is grounded on the wisdom of the world - where people are the focus of their own attention. How easy it is for any one of us to be influenced away from the Word of God and a biblical mindset into the man-centered focus of a secular worldview. May we recognize the serious spiritual danger we are in and determine to teach the truth diligently to our children, and to our children's children when we sit in our houses, and when we walk by the way, and when we lie down, and when we rise up. "You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this important lesson. Keep us alert to the dangers of falling into a worldly mindset and help us to keep the eyes of our hearts on Jesus. We pray for the younger generation that are surrounded by increasing attacks on the Word of God. Help us all to teach the truth of God's Word to our children at every opportunity and protect the hearts and minds of our children and grandchildren. This we pray in Jesus' name, AMEN.

The very first verse makes an incredible statement about the ownership of the world and everything contained within it boundaries. The world belongs to God, together with all those who dwell within its borders. Let us never forget that He is the immortal, invisible God Who has set eternity in the hearts of all His people and that by faith in His only begotten Son we have the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting. "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein," Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, how we praise and thank You that You are the great King of glory and Lord of hosts Who created the world and everything in it. May we never forget to rejoice that our names are written in heaven, for You are our Maker and Redeemer and by the blood of Christ we have been saved. Praise Your Holy name, AMEN. We are indeed fearfully and wonderfully made and God has placed wisdom in our inward parts and given us understanding in Christ. He has given us all things for life and godliness and has made us alive together with Christ. He has raised us up from the miry clay, positioned us in Him, accepted us in the Beloved, and seated us together with Christ in heavenly places. And God made known to us what are the riches of the glory of the mystery among the Gentiles (which was hidden in ages past), "which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." Oh, the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord? "For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we stand amazed at Who You are and what You have done for us, sinners, who were dead in our trespasses and sins, but in Christ have been raised up into newness of life in Him. How we praise and glorify You, to You be all glory, honor and might, and power. Forever and ever, AMEN. We have been placed into the Body of Christ and become one with our Lord. We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ, and were predestined unto adoption of sons by Jesus Christ Himself. We have been permanently present by the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit of God, the One Whom angels worship and adore. And we should be holy and without blame before him in love, all the days of our lives. Let us worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness and bow down in awe and wonder. And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” Our United Prayer:
Father God, the glory of Your Person and the perfection of Your character amazes us. May we lift our voices to You every day like the all those who sing around Your throne: "Holy, holy holy is the Lord of hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory." Praise Your holy name! In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. The wonder of the heavens tell forth the glory of God and the wider expanse of God's amazing creation continues to declare day by day of the amazing work of God's creative hands. Creation is one of two “books' (creation and conscience), that God has given to every man born of woman and every woman begotten of man. These 'scrolls' tell forth the wonders of His name. The shocking truth is that in our pride and foolishness some have refused to read, recognize and honor the signature of our Creator-God.. in His astonishing book of Creation and the inner witness of our own God-given conscience. "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, when we look into the heavens and see the splendor of Your handiwork and the glories of Your creative power, we are moved to proclaim Your glory and to declare the wonderful works of Your mighty hand. But when we look to the cross of Calvary and see Christ:- dead, buried and resurrected to life.. so that by faith in Him we might be reconciled back to God; be forgiven of our sins and become Your children and heirs - we are lost in love and praise, AMEN. There are many that profess faith in one God which is a teaching that not only dominates Christianity but also Judaism, Islam, and other religious groups and certain cults. But as James points out, "you believe that God is one... and you do well - the demons also believe, and shudder." Yes, even the fallen angels and unredeemable demons, believe in the existence of God... but they tremble at the coming judgement and final punishment, which they know awaits them. Belief in One God is a step towards biblical faith, but believing in the wrong God is an unbiblical faith that leads to condemnation. True faith must be placed in the One and Only, True, Living, and Eternal God, "and His Son, Jesus Christ, Whom He has sent." "You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us to examine ourselves to make sure we are in the faith. Lord, we believe that Jesus died for our sins and that He rose again, the third day, to pay the price for our sins and the sins of the whole world. Lord, we are not worthy to gather up the crumbs under Your table, but we believe that Christ came to pay the price for OUR sins, when He died on the Cross and we believe He broke the power of sin and death in our lives and has imputed us with His own righteousness, by faith, for which we are eternally thankful. We praise and thank You for Your goodness and grace towards us. Thank You, in Jesus' name, AMEN. Although in its historical context this verse is mainly towards the nation of Israel, there is much that we can learn from these inspired words of Scripture and much that we can apply in our own lives. How we praise our heavenly Father for Calvary, that our sins are forgiven; that there is no more condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus; that we have been placed in union with Christ and accepted forever. How important to know the Scriptures that are written for our learning.. and to read, mark; learn; inwardly digest and apply their godly instructions during this age and to rightly divide the word of truth, so that we may grow in a knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. "Therefore repent and turn back, that your sins may be wiped out so that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord," Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word of truth. Help us to read it with understanding and to learn all the lessons that You would teach us. We pray that we may live godly lives to Your praise and glory as we look forward to that day when we will finally receive our promised times of refreshing and we will all worship together - this we pray in Jesus name, AMEN. Christ's gained a triumphant victory over sin and death on the Cross, which climaxed with His glorious resurrection from the dead... and this verse gives insight into what His glorious resurrection means for all who are in Christ. Every member of Christ's Body will be transformed, spirit, soul, and body, and this perishable body will be changed into an imperishable body, and this mortal will put on immortality. "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, how much we love You and praise Your name for ever and ever. We are not worthy to pick up the crumbs under Your table and yet You have raised us up and seated us together with Christ Jesus in heavenly places - by sending Your only begotten Son to pay the incredible price for our sins and to break the power of death in our lives. We praise Your name for ever and ever. All glory and honor be Yours for ever and ever, AMEN. Like Christ we too are to walk in spirit and in truth, and to live our lives in total submission and humble obedience to the indwelling, Holy Spirit of God. Like our heavenly Lord, we too are to become a servant of all, without fear and without favor.. without prejudice and without discrimination - without cultural bigotry, perceived biases or hidden prejudices, so that in Him we bring glory of His holy name - and bring souls into His everlasting kingdom. "My brethren, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we pray that Jesus may be seen in us and we pray that in the power of the Holy Spirit.. all we say and do will be done to Your honor and glory, in Whose name we pray, AMEN. For the unbeliever, this is a shocking truth that many seek to ignore or dismiss, but it is a sure fact in the future for all who do not believe. Our Lord Jesus shared our human frailty so that He could willingly give His life as a ransom for all who believe on His name. He shared our humanity so we could share in His life. It is appointed for man to die once, but for the Christian, Christ's death became our death, and the judgement of God's wrath was poured out on Him instead of us. Death has lost its sting because Christ paid the price for sin on our account and was judged in our place. "And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment," Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, what a sobering verse this is, knowing that all mankind will be judged. Thank You that our judgement will be at the Seat with all other believers, where no judgement is given because Christ paid the price for sin on our account and was judged in our place. When we think of the Great Judgement of all unbelievers we shudder, because those who did not trust Christ and receive His free gift of salvation will be judged and thrown into the lake of fire. May we freely tell all we meet of Jesus' free gift so that many will trust Him and partake in the Judgement as believers. As for us, we pray that we may live a life that is honoring to You so that at the time of Judgement we may receive rewards and not suffer loss of rewards. In Jesus' name, AMEN. |
