Whether we live or whether we die, we are to do everything as unto the Lord. The whole purpose of Christ's death and Resurrection was so that He could fulfil His role as Lord (both Lord of the dead and Lord of the living) in the lives of all who trust in His holy name. One of the main reasons that Christ died a cruel death on Calvary's Cross and rose again on the third day was so that He could give life to all who believe in His name. He would become the Lord of our 'new-life-in-Christ' that promises eternal life and life more abundantly. Throughout our lives, we should be His willing servants and devoted disciples. We should seek to do everything as unto the Lord, it was to this end that Christ died and lived again that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. Whatever we do in word and deed, action and attitude, mind and motive, may we do all unto the Lord. Whether we live or whether we die, let us do ALL to His praise and glory, for ever and ever. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. Our United Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for coming to earth to live a perfect life and to die a cruel death so that we might be saved by grace through faith in You. We pray that whether we live or whether we die we may do everything as unto You. To Your praise and glory, AMEN.

The birth of Christianity is a well-documented historical fact that is grounded in Holy Scripture. Its members believe in the historical Cross of Christ, and have placed their faith in the sacrifice that He made on that Cross, which saves people from their sins. There were literal blood stains on the wooden Cross upon which our Savior hung. There was a literal tomb where the body was placed, and there was an empty grave where Christ once laid. But now He is risen, ascended, and glorified, and He has the power to save to the uttermost all who come to Him in faith. Resurrection means to rise from the dead, never again to die. Death has no more dominion over Christ, and He is the firstborn from the dead, paving the way for the bodily resurrection and everlasting life for all who believe in Him by grace through faith. It Is His Sacrificial Death And Resurrection In Which We Place Our FAITH, and those who have trusted Christ as Savior, have been given the Holy Spirit as God's guarantee. Let us have this confidence in Christ today, His resurrection identified Jesus of Nazareth as the Son of God. It gives power to our Christian life in this world and guarantees our future inheritance with Christ in heaven, to Whom be all praise and glory, through time and into eternity. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for seeing past the evil of death and bringing about Christ’s Resurrection. Thank You that we no longer need to fear death and hell, as death itself has been swallowed up in Christ's victory. Thank You that we have been placed in Christ. Show us more of Him, we pray, and may we participate in the fellowship of His sufferings and the power of His Resurrection. May Christ shine through our lives as we go out into the world and tell of the wonders of His grace. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Neither Jew nor Greek have the ability, credentials, or capability to save themselves, God Alone Has The Capacity To Save The Fallen. God alone has the power to redeem a race of sinners, and the only vehicle through Whom God Offers Salvation to Jew and Gentile alike, is by believing the gospel of Christ. There is no other name given among men whereby we must be saved. It is through believing on the gospel of Christ (which is the death, burial, and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ alone), that we are saved. In Him alone is there salvation to everyone who believes, the Jew first and also to the Greek. Throughout the book of Acts, we see this principle of "to the Jew first and also to the Greek," being fulfilled in Paul's ministry. But today, the gospel is to be preached to Jew and Gentile alike, for all have sinned, all fall short of the glory of God, and all need the gospel of Christ "which is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ." I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, then to the Greek. Our United Prayer:
Father, we pray that, like Paul, we will boldly proclaim the gospel of Christ to all with whom we come in contact. Only in Him is there life and light, hope and love. We know that the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation, to all who believe on Him Who died and rose from the dead. To Him be all praise and glory, in Jesus Name We Pray, AMEN. One of the main messages that Paul was keen to get over to these unbelieving Gentiles in Athens, was that God, the Maker of heaven and earth, has fixed a day when He is going to judge the world in righteousness and that judgement, they were informed, would take place through a Man, Whom God Himself had appointed, a Man Who had been raised from the dead, and His Resurrection would serve as the as proof of His authenticity and authority to take on this judicial role as judge of all. How important to Preach The Word Of Truth and tell all who are dead in their trespasses and sins that God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.. 'He who believes in Him is not judged; but he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. All who reject Christ's sacrificial death and God's offer of salvation, that final day of judgement is fast approaching, God has fixed a day in which the crucified and resurrected Jesus will judge the world in righteousness. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.” Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that our sins were judged at the Cross and that there is now no condemnation for us because we are in Christ. But we realize that there are many that remain dead in their sins. We pray that You will use us to tell those that You place in our paths, that Christ died for their sins, that He was buried, and rose again, so that all who believe on Him will not perish, but have everlasting life. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. Jesus had been teaching His disciples the principles and practice of righteousness in the life of a believer and the spiritual priorities that should govern our behaviour. He emphasized the importance of living our lives in dependence upon Him and charged us to live our life as unto the Lord and not for the applause or attention of others. Christians find it all too easy to pass judgement on another member of Christ's Body if their behavior or life-style does not reflect their own walk with Christ (or what they think it should look like), but none of us has the right to judge the motive or conscience of another believer. We cannot read the mind of another, nor can we correctly assess the motive behind their actions. And neither should we judge the value or otherwise of someone's service to the Lord, nor should we be judgmental if they have opinions or reservations that conflict with our own opinions and scruples. However, there are many areas in the Christian life where we have been given the right and authority to make judgements, which include disputes within a church body, the corrective role of elders in a congregation of believers, and especially in the area of doctrinal error. We are certainly called upon to differentiate between what is good and what is evil, we are not to have any connection with the destructive forces of evil, but to hold fast to that which is good. Let us read the Bible with the eye of faith, with an understanding heart, with godly discernment, and in its correct historical context, and let us apply it in our lives in spirit and in truth. Let us Flee From Any Form Of Unrighteous Judgement, hypocritical conclusions, sanctimonious reasonings, legalistic tendencies, and destructive criticisms, but let us hold fast to sound doctrine and seek to walk worthy before the Lord. “Do not judge, or you will be judged. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, keep us, we pray, from hypocritical thoughts and unrighteous judgement of others. But please give us the wisdom and discernment we need to judge between that which is good and that which is evil. Keep us walking humbly before You, and help us to always consider the needs of others before our own. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. It is only as Man could Jesus be identified with the human race and offer His perfect life for the sins of the world. The Wonderful Proof that God the Father accepted the sacrifice of Christ the Son on our behalf, was His Resurrection. It is this death and Resurrection that constitutes the gospel for which the apostle Paul was set apart by both the Father and the Son, and which was promised before times in the holy Scriptures. The Resurrection of Christ, the pivotal point in history, is a fact that we can confidently trust in and rest our faith upon. Let us read, mark, learn, and meditate upon this truth, and raise holy hands in worship of our wonderful Savior. and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Lord, for Your grace toward us who were dead in trespasses and sins, but who have now been brought near by the death and Resurrection of Christ. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Nothing in the life of a Christian happens without a purpose and every event that takes place, whether good or bad, is used by God for our spiritual growth and eternal benefit. During our time on earth, we are called to mature in faith and to grow in grace. God takes all the circumstances of life as an opportunity to develop our trust in Him so that we may discover a little more of His gracious character, His omnipotent power, His wisdom, His unfailing righteousness, His unapproachable holiness, and His Unconditional LOVE. Martha demonstrated her deep trust in God's Word, she had an assurance that her brother would be resurrected in the end times. She had come to believe that Jesus was the promised Messiah Who would save His people from their sins, but she had not yet recognized that she was addressing the incarnate Son of God Who created all things, and Who is before all things. She was yet to discover that Jesus is incarnate God; the One Who holds all things together by His almighty power; the One in Whom is life everlasting. Let us never forget that however small our faith may be, God is working in us every day to strengthen our trust in Him so that we may grow in grace and learn to depend on Him, no matter what circumstances we may have to face. His Word stands fast today, and His Word stands fast forever. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for these earth shattering words, spoken to the grieving sister of Lazarus. Thank You that Jesus used these words to develop Martha's faith and to deepen her dependence upon Him. Help us never to forget that however small our faith may be, God is working in us every day to strengthen our trust in Him so that we may grow in grace and learn to depend on Him, no matter what circumstances we may have to face. Thank You that our lives are hid with Christ in God. Enlarge our faith in Your Word of truth and increase our understanding of Who You truly are, (Whom to know is life eternal), not only in the future but here and now. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. Christ died in our place so that by believing on Him we might be reborn into the glorious family of God. He identified with our sin and became sin for us so that we might be forgiven, redeemed, born again, and returned into fellowship with the Father. Jesus shed His blood on the Cross for our transgressions and rose again the third day so that we might be born from above, born anew, born of the Spirit of God, positioned in Christ, clothed in His perfect righteousness, and accepted in the Beloved for His name's sake. He died so that we might be born into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, secure, and unfading - a birthright that is kept in heaven for all who have trusted in Christ. The hope we have from the Lord is not only a living hope for today, but a lasting hope into the ages to come, An Everlasting Hope that can never fail, it is imperishable, undefiled, secure, enduring, unfading, and inextinguishable, and it is kept for us in heaven, by God's amazing grace. and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that by Your grace through faith in Christ, we have become partakers of His divine nature. Thank You that when we first believed, we were positioned in Christ in heavenly places, having escaped the corruption of the world and being covered with His righteousness. Thank You for the Word of truth and the many precious promises it contains for us and all believers. May Your will for our lives may be carried out to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. The Lord has promised, on many occasions, that the man or woman who seeks the Lord will find Him, if they search for Him with all their heart. But too often we forget that we seek Him Because He First Sought Us. The good Shepherd of the sheep is the One Who searched us out first and convicted our heart of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement. . When we were hopelessly lost to His love and dead in our trespasses and sins, it was God, Himself Who searched us out and found us. Those of us who have been saved by grace through faith in Christ, are able to testify that we sought the Lord for the forgiveness of sin and He graciously delivered us out of the hands of the enemy, triumphing over sin and death and redeeming our life from the pit. What a gracious God we have! I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are worthy to be praised and we will bless You at all times and in all places. We will make our boast in the Lord, for we sought after You and You heard our cries and answered us. You have redeemed our lives from the clutches of the evil one and delivered us from all our fears. You have forgiven our sins and clothed us in Christ's own righteousness, for His name's sake - and You alone are worthy of our praise and thanksgiving forever and ever, AMEN. God Wants Us To Hear His Word, to know His Word, to trust His Word, and to keep His Word. The Lord has placed His Word in a superior position above His holy name. Whether we are talking of the written Word of God or the Living Word of God, the Scriptures. Once the Word is in our hearts by faith, it is only then that we can keep God's Word. Our lives are to be lived in spirit and truth. We cannot keep His Word in the strength of our own fleshly nature. The only way to keep His Word is to remain in Christ, living in the power of the Spirit of God Who guides and directs our path and checks and corrects our thoughts. Always remember, when you keep His Word, His love will be perfected in you as He guides, directs, checks, and corrects our daily walk and then others will know that we are His and He is ours forever. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we want to keep Your Word in our hearts and let the love of God flow out from us to others. May we love others as You love them. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. We have been brought into fellowship with the Heavenly Father by grace through faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ, but this can only be maintained and strengthened as we walk in the light. But we live in a fallen world and are subject to the enticing lusts of the flesh, whether they be sinful actions of the body, prideful thoughts of the mind, or ungodly motives of the heart. How important therefore to Seek To Live Godly In Christ Jesus and to keep a short rein on any sins we may commit. How vital to identify sins of omission or sins or commission and to confess these faults to our Heavenly Father, knowing that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to keep on cleansing us from all unrighteousness. Christ sacrificial death is so all-encompassing that it is sufficient to remove every barrier between God and return mankind into fellowship with the Father, through faith in His sacrificial death. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that Christ is the propitiation for our sins and that His sacrificial death has paid the full price for our sins, brought us into eternal union with Himself, and returned us back into fellowship with the Father. Thank You that by His Resurrection, we have received newness of life and that this same offer of salvation is open to whosoever will believe. Thank You for all those who are coming to Christ. May many more come to a saving faith in Christ before it is too late. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Thomas was not the fool who says in his heart, "there is no God." He was not the rebellious man, with 'a reprobate mind', as described in Romans chapter 1. Thomas loved the Lord desperately, but allowed human reasoning to eclipse the truth. He permitted unbelief to cloud his faith. Thomas, like so many today, yearned that his human senses would secure the deep desire of his heart. So many today long for a voice or vision to supplement their faith. They desire a supernatural sign or a special revelation to safeguard their trust in God. But we are to live by faith and not by sight. We Are To Live By Faith and not by signs. We are to live by faith and not because of some alternative system that supports our faith. Whatever value we place on bodily senses or emotional awareness to stimulate and inform us, God's greater commendation and divine approbation is given to the one who is not influenced by physical senses, human emotions or life's circumstances, but who simply trusts His Word. Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Father, for opening our spiritual eyes of faith to see You and the Lord Jesus. We pray that we will not rely on senses or emotions to inform us of Your love and grace, but will trust the truth of Your Word. Strengthen our faith in You today, Lord. Send us out as messengers to proclaim You as our Lord and our God. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. We are to be holy and hospitable in all our conduct, at home and in the wider community. Our behavior should be friendly, congenial, gracious and welcoming. This truth that some strangers we encounter today could be angels sent from God, is no less true today than it was when Peter was led from his prison cell by an angel, or when the disciples heard from those two men clothed in white, that Jesus will return in like manner as they saw Him go. May we make it Our Daily Practice to show hospitality to strangers and exhibit genuine, loving-kindness to all we meet, for who knows maybe we also have entertained angels unaware or maybe we will encounter one in the coming days. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, it is thrilling to think that we may have helped, provided for, or entertained an angel in our lives. How wonderful to read in the Bible of angels being sent by You as messengers and protectors and that we read of them worshipping You and rejoicing over one sinner who repents. While the study of angels is fascinating, may we never take our focus off You, Lord. May we lift up our voices together with the angels and all the host of heaven to praise and worship You. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Those forty days that followed the Resurrection must have been wonderful for Christ's disciples, because the sorrow and anguish they felt when they thought the Savior was dead and buried (following the grueling time of His arrest, trial, and crucifixion), must have blossomed into a time to ecstatic gladness and joy as Jesus presented Himself to them alive and gave everyone His gracious reassurance that even the terrible act of denial cannot separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord! Christ's death was in payment for the sin of the whole world (for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord), so that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life; this is God's Free Gift Of Grace. Christ's Resurrection broke the power of sin and death in the lives of all who would place their trust in Him, and Christ's commission remains the same today: He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that we are part of the Body of Christ by faith in His death, burial, and Resurrection. Thank You that we have been entrusted with this mission to go into all the world and preach the gospel to all we come in contact with. We pray that in Your strength, we will carry out this evangelistic mission in the places that You have put us, to Your praise and glory. Thank You that You are with us to the end of the age. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. Trials and tribulations, suffering and pain, is all part of the course of a mighty person of God. Timothy is encouraged to be disciplined when facing such difficulties in the same way that a good soldier is obedient to his military commander. Because Christ Is Our Commander-in-Chief, we are encouraged to be obedient to our calling and are expected to face hardships with the same discipline as that of a military person, we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against spiritual principalities and powers in heavenly places. The badge of a disciplined soldier and faithful steward is suffering. Christ Himself learned obedience through His suffering. Paul was an example of a man that endured suffering for the sake of the gospel. We do not have to go on long missionary journeys, spend time in prison, or pastor a church to enroll in the army of believers that endure suffering in order to become a good soldier of the Lord Jesus Christ. But our life will be filled with suffering of some kind, if we are living for the Lord, as Jesus Himself promised. Let us learn obedience through suffering, and let us endure hardship with patient endurance in the place where the Lord has placed us so that we can join the army of Christ as a good and faithful soldiers and servants to our life's end. Suffering is often the badge of honor of a faithful man or woman of God. Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, thank You for the example and teaching of Paul. We long to be people that You want us to be, in the place where You have put us. May our love for the Lord Jesus be such that we rejoice, like the apostle Paul, to endure suffering for the sake of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in Whose name we Pray, AMEN. |
