PRAYING TOGETHER AS A FAMILY
The Sabbath was designed to restore and reinvigorate the people after the toil of the previous week's work. It was given so that they might have a period of leisure in order to meditate on the Scriptures and rejoice in God's goodness and grace. It was not designed to trip men up, but to refresh them. The Sabbath was given for the benefit of man and not the other way around, which is why we read that Jesus said to them. "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that we are not bound by religious laws and legalistic practices, but have been made a new creation in Christ. He is our Sabbath rest, not only during our time on earth, but in the eternal ages to come. Thank You that we are not bound by the burdensome rules and regulations of the Law, but have recognized that the Law was a tool You used to point sinners to Jesus Christ. In Christ, we find true rest and refreshment as we abide in Him and He in us. May we worship You in spirit and truth every day of the week, and take every opportunity to meet with others as we worship You together and enjoy Christian fellowship in our Homes, Churches, Chapels and Communities. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. We will discover within these days we have in our world, a little oasis of hope with a fountain of refreshment: "For the one who trusts in God, will be like a tree planted by rivers of water. They will remain green and fruitful and not worry in the year of drought." We are called to be faithful in the work that God has given us to do. We are not to become discouraged if our life appears dull or our ministry seems unfruitful. We are called to be faithful to the point of death and we will receive healing, deliverance, and the eternal reward that God has prepared for those that love and trust Him. "Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for your words which has so much to teach us of your plans and purposes for mankind and Your goodness and grace toward us. May we learn from our mistakes and be guided into godly living. Thank You that You can be trusted to fulfil Your promises to Your people and to correct us when we go astray. We pray that we will be faithful in the work You have given for us to do, and thank You that in You is healing, wholeness, hope, and joy, for You are our God and are worthy of all praise, AMEN. Our hope in Christ is not only a future expectation, but it is already our present possession, when we were saved by grace through faith in Christ, we were made children of God, citizens of heaven and joint-heirs with Christ. At salvation, we received eternal life ,as a present possession today, and were promised eternal life in ages to come. Nothing is as sure as the Word of God, He cannot lie and in due time God will fulfill His Word to the letter. Let us rejoice and be glad that God has given us eternal life both now and in the ages to come - which is ours through our faith in Christ Jesus our Savior. "In hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that eternal life is not only a sure hope for the future, but is already our present possession today. Thank You for Your promise of eternal life to all who have trusted Christ as Savior. And thank You that Your Word is true, and Your promises stand fast forever and ever. We pray that as Your ambassadors on earth, we may live as a worthy citizen of heaven, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN. May our work of faith be actively dependent on Him. May our labour of love become a living sacrifice that honors our Father in thought, word, and deed, and may the steadfastness of our hope in Christ Jesus our Lord, stimulate others to work the works of faith, to labor in love, and to remain steadfast in the blessed hope we have in the Lord Jesus - in the presence of our God and Father. "We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the reminder we gain from the lives of the Thessalonian Christians whose work of faith, labor of love, and steadfast hope in the Lord Jesus Christ, is an example to us all of godly living that honors You. We pray that we may grow in grace and in a knowledge of Christ Jesus our Savior and do all for Your greater praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. Let us rejoice and be glad for God is our Defense and our Defender. He is our Refuge in the days of our troubles and our Stronghold from the storms of life. From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, may we worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness and bow down before Him, for His name is greatly to be praised. "But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble." Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Father, for the book of Psalms that so often comforts our souls in difficult times and refreshes our hearts in distressing circumstances. Help us not to focus on life's external problems nor the internal doubts that can enter our minds and cause us to fear. Help us, Lord, to bring to mind Your precious promises of refreshment and supply, and to cast all our burdens on You. Praise the Lord O our souls and all that is within us praise Your glorious name. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. |
