We are instructed to Keep The Eyes Of Our Heart Upon Jesus Who has promised to carry all our burdens and to comfort us in all our affliction so that we may offer solace to others who are also weighed down by the cares of this world and oppressed by evil-doers. As we change our focus onto the Lord, so our faith in Him is excited within our heart and we are encouraged to trust in the Lord and do good , to feed on His faithfulness so that we may become strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. We are to believe His promises and hold fast to the Word of truth. When our will is aligned with the will of God, as was intended in the beginning, then the things that delight our Heavenly Father will naturally become the joy of our own heart. When we delight ourselves in the Lord and take pleasure in the things that are uppermost on God's own heart, we will discover that they become the joy of our heart – and we will be able to spiritually appraise all things and to say that we are one with Him and have the mind of Christ. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, forgive us for the times when we have delighted ourselves in wrong things. Keep us from fretting over evildoers in this increasingly confusing world, and help us to keep the eyes of our hearts on Jesus and to delight ourselves in the things of God. Align our thoughts to Your thoughts, we pray, and our will to the will of God. May the desires of our hearts unite with Your will and eternal purposes, for Your everlasting praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. A godly character that reflects the likeness of Christ, is one that loves others as Christ loved us. The love about which the Bible speaks, is different from every other type of human love, and is uniquely imparted to the child of God from the Spirit of truth and love. Loving in word, is contrasted with loving in deed. It is translating one's affectionate words into meaningful, practical deeds, through the grace of God. The former is to talk about caring, while the latter is to express unconditional love, in action. Loving in tongue is contrasted with loving in spirit and in truth. The former is an insincere and artificial affection, while the latter is a genuine godly love that is manifested in a life that cares for the concerns of others before one’s own needs or wishes. Make no mistake – To Love In Deed And In Truth is not something that we can do for ourselves, however hard we try! We cannot love in deed and in truth through a training program, mental exertion, or fleshly effort. To love in deed and in truth is a love that comes directly from God, Himself, and can only be manifested in the life of a born-again believer who is walking in spirit and truth. Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that we are Your children and that Christ died to pay the price for our sins. Thank You that He rose again so that we could become new creations in Christ, receiving our new lives in Him. May the love of the Lord Jesus flood and fill our beings, that it not only flows out to others in thoughts and words, but in spirit, in truth, and in our every action and attitude. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. Our outstanding joy, eternal hope, and unassailable victory is in Christ Jesus our Lord. With this in mind, after cataloging a fearsome list of the most traumatic circumstances that may impact our lives or afflict us in the physical, emotional, and spiritual realms, and having proclaimed that nothing can separate us from Christ's love. It Is Through Christ Jesus Our Lord That We Are Saved, and it is in Him that we are overwhelming winners and irrepressible victors. No matter what sufferings and difficulties we may face, our Savior is able to work everything together for our eternal good and for His greater glory, and He does this because of His great love for each one of us. We do not crawl out of our difficulties and distresses bloodied and bruised. We emerge from every situation triumphantly, victorious through Him Who loved us and gave Himself for us. Let us believe His Word which states: "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us". Let us live our lives in the expectation that we will not only overcome in the future but that we are already victorious now ,through Him Who loves us. Our United Prayer: Heavenly Father, we praise Your wonderful name for this glorious truth that no matter what happens in our lives, we are conquerors through Christ Who loves us and gave Himself for us. Help us not only to see this as a future hope but as a present victory in Him today. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. When Christ shouted, "It Is Finished," He had paid the full price for our sins, and there is now no condemnation to all who believe on His name. When Christ burst forth from the sealed tomb, the angels joyfully proclaimed, "He is Risen!" Our resurrected Savior broke the power of death and hell forever, and the enemy of man's soul became a defeated adversary who was bound for the lake of fire. Christ's gained a triumphant victory over sin and death on the Cross, which climaxed with His glorious resurrection from the dead, and this verse gives insight into what His glorious resurrection means for all who are in Christ. Every member of Christ's Body will be transformed, spirit, soul, and body, and this perishable body will be changed into an imperishable body, and this mortal will put on immortality. The day is coming when this corruptible will be clothed with incorruptibility and our mortal frame will be clothed with immortality. The time is fast approaching when we will proclaim, "Death has been swallowed up in victory. Thanks be to God, Who gives us the Victory Through Our Lord Jesus Christ." Our jubilant shout of triumphant thanksgiving and victory will resound throughout the eternal ages to come: But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Our United Prayer: Loving Father, how much we love You and praise Your name for ever and ever. We are not worthy to pick up the crumbs under Your table and yet You have raised us up and seated us together with Christ Jesus in heavenly places, by sending Your only begotten Son to pay the incredible price for our sins and to break the power of death in our lives. We praise Your name for ever and ever. All glory and honor and might and majesty be Yours, for ever and ever, AMEN. There are certain character traits that are earthly, fleshly, sensual, and demonic, and there are those that are spiritual, holy, and godly. Only those that are born again believers who walk in spirit and truth, are enabled to display the good and godly attributes that come from above, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Both unsaved sinners and carnal Christians who carry out the works of the flesh, can display the ungodly characteristics associated with envy, jealousy, selfish ambition, and the pride of life which manifest in disorder and every evil thing. Many have rejected true wisdom in the Person and work of the Lord Jesus, and have chosen to live their lives according to their own perceived intelligence, which results in jealousy, envy, ambition, strife, and every kind of evil work. Seek After The Wisdom That Comes From God, which is a pure wisdom in thought, word, and deed. Continue to strive after the wisdom from above, which is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits – unwavering and without hypocrisy. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. Our United Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus is the power of God and the wisdom of God and that in Him is no confusion or shifting shadows. We know that the enemy likes to bind us up in confusing webs of lies, fear, and doubt. May we resist the devil and keep our eyes focused on Jesus alone. This we ask in Jesus' holy name, AMEN. Assuredly, we should bless the Lord with the whole of our being, for the Lord inhabits the praises of His children. Surely, we should sing and make joyful music in our hearts to the Lord our God, for He Alone Is Worthy Of All The Glory, might, dominion, power, praise, and blessing. This is no self-centered, superficial form of worship, but a yearning desire deep within that is overwhelmed by Who God is and what He has done for all who trust in the Son of His love. When we consider our wonderful Creator, our heart is filled with awe and wonder at His mighty power and the vastness of His great wisdom; but when we consider the nails that pierced His hands and feet, the crown that tore His head, and the sword that thrust His side all for love of His own, and when we consider that Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her to sanctify her, to make her holy, to cleanse her with the washing of water by the Word, is it not our glorious privilege to worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness, bow down before Him with our whole body, soul, and spirit, and praise our mighty Savior and King for ever and ever? Never forget to praise the LORD and remember all the good things He does for us all. He forgives all our sins. He heals all our diseases. He redeems us from death. He crowns us with love and tender mercies. He fills our lives with good things. He renews our youth like the eagle's. Praise the Lord! Who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, Our United Prayer: Loving Lord and Heavenly Father, we worship, praise and bless You with our whole beings, You are a great, mighty, and wonderful God, and we love You, Lord. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. The closing chapters of Hebrews offer some excellent, ethical instructions on constructive Christian living, brotherly hospitality, and nurturing a godly concern for the needs of others, as well as giving some serious warnings about refusing God's grace and rejecting His Word. It seems, from this verse, that a spirit of contentment could be a valuable guard against developing covetousness - an ungodly behavior that spawns discontent, jealousy, grudges, and greed. God, in His grace, has given us many precious blessings and has promised never to leave us nor forsake us, no matter how fiercely the bitter winds of trial batter our lives and irrespective of other people who may have betrayed or hurt us. May we develop a character that is free from the love of money and strive to be content in all things, knowing that He Himself has promised to be with us in all the changing scenes of our lives. Let's ponder on these comforting words of the Lord when we are tempted to envy the life of another or allow seeds of discontent to be sown in our hearts. Let us ponder on these words, Rejoice In The Lord Always, and be content in Him, He has promised, "I will never leave you nor will I forsake you." Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Our United Prayer: Heavenly Father, we confess that there are times when we are tempted to be dissatisfied with our lives and envious of others, leaving us feeling discontented. Forgive us, Lord. May we be reminded today of that most precious blessing that You will never leave us nor forsake us. Remind us today, Lord, that as part of Your Bride we are the most blessed people on earth. Help us to keep our priorities in order, not looking to things of the earth for contentment but to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. We are all God's children and as we grow in grace and in an understanding of His Word of truth, our hearts should be thankful for His goodness and grace. As we mature in the faith and progress in our spiritual walk, we should reflect on the enormous sacrifice that the Lord Jesus Christ made for us on the Cross. As believers who have been saved by grace through faith in Christ, we are encouraged to develop an attitude of grateful praise and ceaseless thanksgiving to our Father in heaven, our spiritual maturity is reflected in a heart of thanksgiving and praise for all that the Lord has done for us. God knows that thanksgiving and praise are no bedfellows to unforgiveness or fear. He knows that gratitude and rejoicing is no companion of dissatisfaction or murmuring, and so we are encouraged to Give Thanks In Everything, even those difficult, daily circumstances, knowing that His grace is sufficient for those that are in Christ Jesus. As His children, we have benefits and glories beyond our understanding. Let us glorify God by giving thanks in everything, for this is the will of God, for all who are in Christ Jesus. give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Our United Prayer: Heavenly Father, may we grow in grace and in an attitude of thanksgiving for all that you have done for us, in Christ Jesus. Lord, We desire that Your will be done in our lives. We know that it is Your will that we should give thanks in all things, and so we pray that You would develop and refine this exquisite grace of thanksgiving in us. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. As Redeemed Children Of God and joint-heirs with Christ who are clothed with His righteousness by the Spirit of God, and who have an eternal inheritance prepared for us in heaven, we have much to cause us to rejoice. The sufferings of the world, through which we are passing, are for so brief a moment in the economy of eternity, that it should not affect the joy we have in our Savior. The man or woman who turns often to prayer and maintains a worshipful attitude of prayer towards the Lord, is one who comes boldly to the throne of grace to offer up prayer and praise, supplication and intercessions, petitions and thanksgiving. Prayer demonstrates a humble dependence upon God, prayer is the breath of the dependent soul that touches the heart of the Father. The praying man and woman are the ones who do not rely on their own strength, but trusts in the Lord with all their heart for all their needs. The man or woman of prayer is one who desires to maintain close and intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus. Let us live in an attitude of prayer, no matter what activity we are engaged in. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, praise Your holy name for all Your goodness and loving kindness to us and to all mankind. Thank You for sending Your Son to be our Redeemer. We give all our praise to Your name from this day forth and forevermore. Thank You that we can come to You in prayer any moment of the day. Help us to come boldly to Your throne of grace in all we do. Keep us ever humble before Your throne. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. The world is weary and war-torn... and individually and internationally the world longs for peace. People yearn for a ruler who will usher in a golden age of peace and prosperity. The world aches for a perfect reign of righteousness and virtue. They crave a time when the groans of creation cease, the wicked are punished, the hungry are fed, the oppressed are vindicated, the weary are refreshed, and justice rules in the corridors of power. A time is indeed coming when The Earth Shall Be Filled With Justice And Peace, and the King of righteousness will reign supreme over the whole earth. He will judge with equity and peace, but it will never come about through the manipulations of people, democratic rule, imposed authoritarianism, or by majority votes in governmental ballot boxes. At that time, He will judge the people fairly. The mountains will bring forth peace and justice will be given to the poor. The children of the needy will be saved, and the yoke of the oppressor will be broken in pieces. The name of the Lord will be feared throughout all generations and "He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass and will be likened to refreshing showers that water the whole earth," and the days of His righteousness will flourish. May he be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are sending the Lord Jesus to be Your anointed King Who is appointed to judge the world in righteousness and rule the nations with equity. We look forward to that time when the earth will be filled with His glory. In the meantime, we pray that we may live to His praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Forgiveness is a matter that is Dear To The Heart Of Our Compassionate God, and forgiveness paid a tremendous part in the redemption of mankind. Forgiveness of sin is what fallen man yearns for and yet is incapable of receiving, unless he comes to the foot of the Cross and is washed clean by the blood of the Lamb, there is no forgiveness of sins except through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Forgiveness should be a subject to which we should also pay close attention. Forgiveness is one of the godly garments with which we have been covered and clothed, and our call to kindness, compassion, and forgiveness rests on the immeasurable forgiveness and mercy that each of us have received in Christ Jesus. Why is the act of forgiveness so difficult for some people? Why does it seem easier to let the root of bitterness grow in our heart, rather than humbling ourselves, asking for forgiveness, and forgiving another who has hurt or wronged us? It seems to be the case that those who are not able to forgive have never come to an understanding how much they have been forgiven. The more understanding we have of the grace that we have received, the deeper our gratitude and the greater our capacity to forgive other people becomes. Let us be those who are quick to forgive, quick to ask for forgiveness, and in doing so, we glorify our dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Our United Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace, mercy, love, and immeasurable forgiveness towards us. May we reflect You in our thoughts, words, and deeds. We pray that we will be kind, compassionate, and forgiving toward others, just as You forgave us. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. The enemy of our soul seeks to permeate every nook and cranny of Christian life. Indeed we know that the devil himself prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. That same, evil enemy, who is called the devil and Satan, will also try to approach us as an angel of light - through the means of deceptive people, false apostles and deceitful workers, who pretend that they are apostles of Christ - but their witness and faith are compromised. How important therefore that we are alert and be watchful against the enemy of our soul - not only for ourselves but on behalf of all our brothers and sisters in Christ - so that together we keep looking to Jesus - our blessed Hope. Like the Corinthians, we are also called to be brave and strong in our Christian walk. We are not to compromise our faith but to cling fast to that which is good, noble, right, pure, honorable and admirable. We do this as we trust in the Lord with all our heart. He is the Rock our Salvation and the Foundation upon which we stand. We are to be devoted to our brothers and sisters in Christ, we are one Body in Him. Indeed we are members of His Body and United Together In Him. Not only in this life but in the ages to come. Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness to us and for instructing us how to live godly lives to Your praise and glory. May we stand firm in the faith and act in ways that does not dishonor Your name. May we be alert to the evils that surround us and our brothers and sisters in Christ and may we never compromise the truth of the glorious gospel of grace but be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Help us to withstand the wiles of the devil and be alert to his evil ways. May all we say and do be done in love - to Your honor and glory in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. Pride is an attribute about which the Bible has much to say. With pride comes destruction, dishonor, and wickedness. Indeed, Proverbs tells us: "Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord." Satan himself, we are told in Ezekiel, had a proud heart because of his beauty. His pride most certainly contributed to his fall from grace and expulsion from heaven. In contrast, with humility comes honor, grace, and gentleness. Let us learn from Jesus when He says, "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." From the beginning of Genesis to the final Revelation of Jesus Christ, we discover that God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble. He resists the arrogant but gives grace to those that are lowly of heart. Since all the evils of the world are conceived and birthed through the corruption of our own hearts and the lusts of our own flesh, James reminds us that God gives us grace and even greater grace, but also urges us not to abuse His mercies by imitating the ways of the world, which is at enmity with God, but rather to Walk In Spirit And Truth. We are to exhibit genuine mercy and deep humility of heart, knowing that the Lord bestows His grace generously to those that are humble of heart. Knowing that grace is given to the humble, we should earnestly seek after the precious fruit of the Spirit which will only develop and grow in the one that recognizes that every manifestation of sin is rooted in a proud and arrogant heart: "But He gives greater grace. Therefore, He says, But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, thank You for the great grace that You show to us every day of our lives. We pray that we would heed Your serious warnings against prideful boastings and not yield to any ungodly ways. Rather, may we come to You on bended knee with a broken and contrite heart. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. The good news of salvation and life eternal, is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Whether Old Testament saints or New Testament believers, the only way to access this Free And Eternal Gift from the Father is to trust in His Word and believe in His Son. Faith is simply having the confidence that the future things God has revealed in His written Word, will unquestionably happen. The reformation verse that shattered corridors of Christendom was: "The just shall live by faith." The righteous man shall live by faith, the godly man, the virtuous woman, the justified sinner, the maturing believer, are to all live by faith, as well as being saved by faith. A living faith in God's Word and the confident hope in His promises are two graces that embrace each other in love at the foot of the Cross. This is not fingers-crossed and-hope-it-happens' type of faith. This is the faith that accepts without question that the Word of God is entirely dependable and is an indisputable fact. The eye of faith sees beyond our present reality and places its feet firmly on divine revelation given by Almighty God, through the Word-made-flesh. It believes God's Word of truth in the pages of Scripture, which was written for our learning, instruction, encouragement, and hope. The heart of faith enables us to treat as reality those things that are unseen, even when circumstances of life appear to contradict the truth of God's Word. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, we can be so entrenched in our own thinking that sometimes we doubt Your Word and question Your promises, often wishing we had some concrete proof of Your love for us. Forgive us, Lord - we know that Your Word gives us all the affirmation of this absolute reality that we need. Your Word and promises are sure, and Your faithfulness stretches beyond the limits of time and space. Thank You for the gift of faith. We pray that, day by day, our loving trust in You will become increasingly established within our hearts, we long to please You in all we say and do and are. In Jesus' name, AMEN. As the days get darker and the world becomes increasingly evil, the need for sincere Christian fellowship and encouragement becomes even more necessary. Every believer has been given spiritual gifts and graces that are to be used to encourage and exhort one another. Our spiritual gifts are to be used for the mutual edification, exhortation, teaching, consolation, building up, and encouragement of the Church of Christ. As members of His body, let us Seek To Use Our Gifts and graces to uplift and invigorate our brothers and sisters in the faith, and to welcome the encouragement and advice we receive from them. Let us never forget that we have gifts that differ from one another, according to the grace that has been given to us, and through the power of the Holy Spirit we should exercise our spiritual gifts and grace accordingly - not only for the mutual encouragement of one another.. but also for the honor and glory of His precious name. That is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that we are all members of Your body and that each one has been given gifts and graces that are to be used appropriately. Help us to live according to Your Word and to use our gifts and graces for the mutual encouragement of our brothers and sisters in Christ. May we all grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus, as we see the day of His return grow ever closer. This we ask, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. |
