PRAYING TOGETHER AS A FAMILY
Assuredly, we should bless the Lord with the whole of our being, for the Lord inhabits the praises of His children. Surely, we should sing and make joyful music in our hearts to the Lord our God, for He Alone Is Worthy Of All The Glory, might, dominion, power, praise, and blessing. This is no self-centered, superficial form of worship, but a yearning desire deep within that is overwhelmed by Who God is and what He has done for all who trust in the Son of His love. When we consider our wonderful Creator, our heart is filled with awe and wonder at His mighty power and the vastness of His great wisdom; but when we consider the nails that pierced His hands and feet, the crown that tore His head, and the sword that thrust His side all for love of His own, and when we consider that Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her to sanctify her, to make her holy, to cleanse her with the washing of water by the Word, is it not our glorious privilege to worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness, bow down before Him with our whole body, soul, and spirit, and praise our mighty Savior and King for ever and ever? Never forget to praise the LORD and remember all the good things He does for us all. He forgives all our sins. He heals all our diseases. He redeems us from death. He crowns us with love and tender mercies. He fills our lives with good things. He renews our youth like the eagle's. Praise the Lord! Who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, Our United Prayer: Loving Lord and Heavenly Father, we worship, praise and bless You with our whole beings, You are a great, mighty, and wonderful God, and we love You, Lord. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. The closing chapters of Hebrews offer some excellent, ethical instructions on constructive Christian living, brotherly hospitality, and nurturing a godly concern for the needs of others, as well as giving some serious warnings about refusing God's grace and rejecting His Word. It seems, from this verse, that a spirit of contentment could be a valuable guard against developing covetousness - an ungodly behavior that spawns discontent, jealousy, grudges, and greed. God, in His grace, has given us many precious blessings and has promised never to leave us nor forsake us, no matter how fiercely the bitter winds of trial batter our lives and irrespective of other people who may have betrayed or hurt us. May we develop a character that is free from the love of money and strive to be content in all things, knowing that He Himself has promised to be with us in all the changing scenes of our lives. Let's ponder on these comforting words of the Lord when we are tempted to envy the life of another or allow seeds of discontent to be sown in our hearts. Let us ponder on these words, Rejoice In The Lord Always, and be content in Him, He has promised, "I will never leave you nor will I forsake you." Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Our United Prayer: Heavenly Father, we confess that there are times when we are tempted to be dissatisfied with our lives and envious of others, leaving us feeling discontented. Forgive us, Lord. May we be reminded today of that most precious blessing that You will never leave us nor forsake us. Remind us today, Lord, that as part of Your Bride we are the most blessed people on earth. Help us to keep our priorities in order, not looking to things of the earth for contentment but to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. We are all God's children and as we grow in grace and in an understanding of His Word of truth, our hearts should be thankful for His goodness and grace. As we mature in the faith and progress in our spiritual walk, we should reflect on the enormous sacrifice that the Lord Jesus Christ made for us on the Cross. As believers who have been saved by grace through faith in Christ, we are encouraged to develop an attitude of grateful praise and ceaseless thanksgiving to our Father in heaven, our spiritual maturity is reflected in a heart of thanksgiving and praise for all that the Lord has done for us. God knows that thanksgiving and praise are no bedfellows to unforgiveness or fear. He knows that gratitude and rejoicing is no companion of dissatisfaction or murmuring, and so we are encouraged to Give Thanks In Everything, even those difficult, daily circumstances, knowing that His grace is sufficient for those that are in Christ Jesus. As His children, we have benefits and glories beyond our understanding. Let us glorify God by giving thanks in everything, for this is the will of God, for all who are in Christ Jesus. give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Our United Prayer: Heavenly Father, may we grow in grace and in an attitude of thanksgiving for all that you have done for us, in Christ Jesus. Lord, We desire that Your will be done in our lives. We know that it is Your will that we should give thanks in all things, and so we pray that You would develop and refine this exquisite grace of thanksgiving in us. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. As Redeemed Children Of God and joint-heirs with Christ who are clothed with His righteousness by the Spirit of God, and who have an eternal inheritance prepared for us in heaven, we have much to cause us to rejoice. The sufferings of the world, through which we are passing, are for so brief a moment in the economy of eternity, that it should not affect the joy we have in our Savior. The man or woman who turns often to prayer and maintains a worshipful attitude of prayer towards the Lord, is one who comes boldly to the throne of grace to offer up prayer and praise, supplication and intercessions, petitions and thanksgiving. Prayer demonstrates a humble dependence upon God, prayer is the breath of the dependent soul that touches the heart of the Father. The praying man and woman are the ones who do not rely on their own strength, but trusts in the Lord with all their heart for all their needs. The man or woman of prayer is one who desires to maintain close and intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus. Let us live in an attitude of prayer, no matter what activity we are engaged in. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, praise Your holy name for all Your goodness and loving kindness to us and to all mankind. Thank You for sending Your Son to be our Redeemer. We give all our praise to Your name from this day forth and forevermore. Thank You that we can come to You in prayer any moment of the day. Help us to come boldly to Your throne of grace in all we do. Keep us ever humble before Your throne. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. The world is weary and war-torn... and individually and internationally the world longs for peace. People yearn for a ruler who will usher in a golden age of peace and prosperity. The world aches for a perfect reign of righteousness and virtue. They crave a time when the groans of creation cease, the wicked are punished, the hungry are fed, the oppressed are vindicated, the weary are refreshed, and justice rules in the corridors of power. A time is indeed coming when The Earth Shall Be Filled With Justice And Peace, and the King of righteousness will reign supreme over the whole earth. He will judge with equity and peace, but it will never come about through the manipulations of people, democratic rule, imposed authoritarianism, or by majority votes in governmental ballot boxes. At that time, He will judge the people fairly. The mountains will bring forth peace and justice will be given to the poor. The children of the needy will be saved, and the yoke of the oppressor will be broken in pieces. The name of the Lord will be feared throughout all generations and "He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass and will be likened to refreshing showers that water the whole earth," and the days of His righteousness will flourish. May he be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are sending the Lord Jesus to be Your anointed King Who is appointed to judge the world in righteousness and rule the nations with equity. We look forward to that time when the earth will be filled with His glory. In the meantime, we pray that we may live to His praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. |
