Do we simply consider ourselves 'sinners saved by grace', as indeed we are, or do we grasp the challenge to become His close and intimate friend - a friend who loves at all times; a friend that sticks closer than a brother or sister; a friend who would be willing to lay down our life for our dear, heavenly Savior and Friend. You are My friends, He told His disciples - and us. You are my friends, if you do what I command you. And He humbled Himself and washed their feet and said: a new command I give unto You that you LOVE one another in the same way that I have loved You. By this shall all men know that your are my disciples - My FRIENDS. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, what an amazing thing that we should be called friends of God. May we follow all that You command us to do, and in the power of the Spirit, may we love others as Christ loves us. Thank You for being our Friend and Savior, AMEN. Heavenly Father, we give you praise for these people who have allowed us to serve and worship You in freedom. We do not take for granted that there are millions of Christians around the world afraid of prison or even death because of what they believe. Our veterans are a significant reason why we do not fear and we thank You for them. "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father who sees all of the hurt, comfort the hearts of those who have lost loved ones in the military. It might seem to us “unfair,” but You are the God who ordains our days. Let us remember those families that are still grieving today. Remind them of Your love for them. Their loss provides for us a safe place to live and worship You. Keep those families close to Your heart today. Comfort them and let them know we do not forget their loved one’s sacrifice. In Jesus name we pray, Amen We are not to rely on our own limited knowledge and human understanding. We are not to depend on our own sufficiency. Rather, we are to die to sin and self and live for Christ alone. We are to set our affections on things above and not on things of the earth - we are to trust in the Lord Jesus, He has promised, "MY grace is sufficient for My strength is perfected in your weakness." "Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Word of God and the truths that it contains within its sacred pages. Help us to read, mark, learn, and act upon all the things that Christ has done for us so that we may live our lives in a manner that pleases You and honors Your holy name. We pray that we may endure life's hardships like good soldiers of Christ and run, with patience, the race of life that is set before us. Keep us pressing on to the goal of our calling and equip us with knowledge and understanding of all that Christ has done for us. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. We are urged to patiently endure the difficult life-circumstances in which we may find ourselves - and we are called to bear with one another and make allowances for one another - for in so doing we demonstrate the love of Christ, being lived through us. Let us leave the self-life nailed to the cross and live out our new-life in Christ (which we received at salvation).. in humility and gentleness,.. patiently enduring with grace, tolerance and love. "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father thank You for the wealth of spiritual blessings that You have lavished on us, through our faith. Lord we desire to live godly in Christ Jesus and to walk in humble dependence and humility of heart, before you all the days of our lives. Help us to put off the old-selves and to live as You desire - in humble dependence upon You.. to Your praise and glory, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. We have all been made joint-heirs with Christ and are living stones that are being fitted together into the dwelling place of God. We have all received power from above and the riches of His grace... and we are all to fellowship in the suffering of our Savior - to share in His shame, to learn obedience by the things that we also suffer, and in this world we will all be hated, despised, rejected, and persecuted for His sake - but we all have received His grace for everything that we may be called upon to face. Though we all have our own unique gifting from God and recognize the distinctions between male and female in the various ministries to which we may be called, we are all members of the Body of Christ and as such "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female, for we are all one in Christ Jesus" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that we am members of Christ’s Body and accepted in Him. We have been redeemed and forgiven, and made a child of God, through time and into eternity. Thank You that we are all one in Christ Jesus. In Jesus' name, AMEN. Satan is the evil accuser of the brethren who attempts to prevent us from casting all our cares upon Him by twisting the Word of God and denying the truth. Never doubt the integrity and truth of God's Word, for what He has promised He will fulfil. May we humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt us at the proper time - and may we cast ALL our anxiety on Him, because He cares for each one of His blood-bought children. "Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we confess that for too long, we have depended on our own sufficiency and tried to work out our own problems in our own strength... but we thank You, Father, that You care so much for us that we can cast all our burdens on You and give You all the hurts, disappointments, and worries, that seem to be flooding our lives today. Thank You that we have the sure knowledge that You have promised to carry every anxiety and pain. we admit, dear Father, that we are weak in ourselves, but praise You that we can draw on Your amazing strength today and in the days that lie ahead. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. It is not by our strength or by our own power or wisdom that we can do all things , but through Christ, Who gives us His strength. Without HIM we can do nothing but we can do all things through Christ, "Not by might nor by power - but by My Spirit says the Lord." "I can do all this through him who gives me strength" Our United Prayer:
Teach us, our Father, to look to Jesus each moment of the day for our strength, and not to rely on our own, imperfect, human abilities and intelligence, for without You we can do nothing. But thanks be to God that as we rest in Christ Jesus, He will empower us to carry out Your will for our lives. Father, we confess that without You we can do nothing, but thanks be to God that we can do all things through Christ, Who strengthens us, through the power of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus Name we pray, AMEN. The Law is still good IF one uses it lawfully. But today, as in the days of Paul and Timothy, there are many that teach a different gospel, which ADDs to the work Christ did on the Cross. Adding works to Christ's finished Work of salvation, will NEVER be accepted by God. 'Believe AND be baptized'. 'Believe AND give money'. 'Believe AND evangelize'. 'Believe AND do good works' 'Believe AND attend church, And so on... When the question, "what must I do to be saved?...." is asked, and the word "AND" becomes part of the answer.. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ AND... BEWARE! When any 'work of the flesh' is being added to Christ's finished work on the Cross, it is using the Law unlawfully. "We know that the law is good if one uses it properly" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, how we praise and thank You that we are justified freely by Christ's finished work on the Cross, and that salvation is a free gift to all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You that our salvation does not depend on our merit, or anything that we do. Give us discernment to identify teachers who wittingly or unwittingly, use the Law unlawfully, by adding to Christ's finished work on the Cross. How we praise and thank You that our salvation does not depend on work that we do, but is dependent on the work that Christ did at Calvary, on our behalf, for which we praise and glorify Your holy name, AMEN. The person who is occupied with the wisdom and ways of the world and engages in fleshly activities, bitter jealousies, and selfish ambition, stand in defiance of the truth. May we rigorously guard ourselves against bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in our heart, and may we walk in the spirit and in truth, for our own spiritual development and for the greater glory of our God and Savior. "But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, keep us we pray, from any bitterness of heart or selfish ambitions, and help us to walk in spirit and in truth. Give us wisdom and understanding, so that by our actions and attitude, we may walk in Your ways and always be pleasing to You. Strengthen us and enable us to live as Christ lived, in active dependence on You. This we ask in Jesus’ name, AMEN. This little organ can produce the most beautiful blessings which give glory of God while at the same time can pour forth the most un-sanctified filth and blasphemy, which discredits His holy name - and these things ought not to be. If we are to live the sort of life that God intends, where good behavior and godly deeds reflect the gentleness and wisdom of God.. the old self must remain nailed to the cross so that the life of Christ may live in and through us.. to His praise and glory. "Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for our example of how to live on earth to Your praise and glory. We pray that we may reflect the Lord Jesus in all wisdom and understanding and that genuine humility and gentleness of our hearts may become the hallmark of our lives to Your praise and glory - this we ask in Jesus name, AMEN. A poor man's wisdom, which comes through faith in God, has been proven to be of greater value and significance than the great military might of a powerful king, and his well-equipped army - for when applying godly wisdom, a city can be saved from destruction, and the people delivered from disaster. Weapons of war bring in their wake devastation and ruin, while well-applied wisdom from above can avert terrible disaster, and produce a truly advantageous outcome. But how quickly can good things be destroyed by one evil person or one treacherous act. "Wisdom is better than weapons of warfare, but one sinner can destroy a lot of good." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, endow us with wisdom and discernment from on high we pray, for we know that the spiritual battle in which we are engaged will not be victorious through our skills and the strategies of this fallen world system, but are only supplied by grace, through trusting You, and standing firm on the Word of God. Thank You that in Him we have all we need for life and godliness, and thank You for the spiritual armor which has been provided for our protection. Father, we know that the battle is the Lord's and we desire to carry out Your plans and purposes for our lives. Give us the wisdom we need to stand firm in these challenging days, and help us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, and our hearts ready to obey Your call. This we ask in His precious name, AMEN. The Word of God teaches that we are to deny ourselves by keeping 'Self' in the place of death, so that we may love and serve the Lord our God in spirit and truth, and encourage and edify our brothers and sisters. We do this by allowing the love of God to flow into us; through us and out to others. Let us love one another in spirit and truth, for love is of God, and he who loves as Christ loves, will both edify the body of Christ and glorify our Father Who is in heaven. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, keep us ever humble before Your throne of grace we pray. Help us to use our spiritual gifts and graces to encourage and edify our brothers and sisters in Christ and to glorify Your name, and may we live our lives in love and grace, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. By faith, we have received God's eternal forgiveness. His unconditional and unrestricted forgiveness. There is nothing that can separate us from His love, for past, present, and future sins have been washed in the sea of His amazing forgiveness, and His vast ocean of forgetfulness, and we are cleansed by the Blood of the Lamb. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unconditional and unrestricted forgiveness. Thank You that as far as the east is from the west, is the distance that our sins have been removed from us. Thank You for this truth, that love covers a multitude of sins. We pray that we would not misuse this verse and simply tolerate all sin, or wink at sin, but love as Christ loved us, loving and forgiving in grace and truth. We pray, that we may reflect Christlikeness in all our dealings with others, so that the glory goes to You. In Jesus' name, AMEN. They who turn often to prayer and maintain a worshipful attitude of prayer towards the Lord, is one who comes boldly to the throne of grace - to offer up prayer and praise, supplication and intercessions, petitions and thanksgiving. Prayer demonstrates a humble dependence upon God, for prayer is the breath of the dependent soul that touches the heart of the Father. The praying are the ones who do not rely on their own strength, but trusts in the Lord with all their hearts, for all their needs. The man or woman of prayer is one who desires to maintain close and intimate fellowship with the Lord Jesus. Let us all live in an attitude of prayer, no matter what activity we are engaged in. Let Us All Pray Together Without Ceasing "Pray Without Ceasing" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You for all Your loving-kindness to us. Keep us ever humble before Your throne. May we be actively dependent on You by trusting Your word so that in Your power, we may live as You would have us to live, Praying Together, in Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. Let us live in love with one another. Let us live in peace with each other, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone - and may we never repay evil with evil but let us always seek after that which is good. Continuously rejoice in the Lord, pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks; for the glory of God the Father and Jesus Christ, Whom He has sent. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wonderful encouragement we receive in Your written Word and the enlightenment that You have given us about these end times. May we always look for the blessed hope when Christ returns, and in the meantime, may we continue to go forth and proclaim the gospel. We pray that many would come to faith in You due to our testimonies and for Your greater praise and glory. This we pray in Jesus. name, AMEN. |
