Though abortion is a sin, and the loss of life through terminating a pregnancy is a travesty, Jesus died to pay the price for the sin of every man and woman, including this one. The Lord offers cleansing and forgiveness for the unsaved, who in recognizing their need of salvation, trusts that Christ is the acceptable sacrifice for their sin - including the sin of abortion. There is no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus, for He even gives forgiveness and healing to those who commit this sin, both in their pre-salvation and post-salvation life - for if we, who have been justified by faith, confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness - including this one. "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this beautiful Psalm on the sanctity of human life. Thank You that You gave us life, formed my inward parts, and have scheduled every day of our lives. How we praise and thank You that we have been born-again into Your family, and have received a new life in Christ. Forgive us individually, and forgive us as a nation for the careless value that we too often place on life, and especially on the values of the unborn children. Bless and protect those that are pregnant and may those that are guilty of wittingly or unwittingly being involved in terminating a pregnancy, experience Your grace and forgiveness in their lives. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. We are not sinless for we still have an old sin nature – and if we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us – but sin and death have no power over our new life in Christ – our new born-again life. Surely the love of Christ compels us who have trusted Him as Savior to no longer live for ourselves but for to live our life unto Him - Who died for us and was raised again – that we might have life and have it more abundantly. "For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died." Our United Prayer:
Loving Father how astonishing that Christ's death paid the price for all our sins and that His life has given us brand-new lives in Him as well. We pray that we may no longer live for ourselves – but that we may live our lives for Christ alone – Who for our sakes bled and died and was raised that we too might live, AMEN. We are called to be brave and strong in our Christian walk. We are not to compromise our faith but to cling fast to that which is good and noble, right and pure - honorable and admirable. We do this as we trust in the Lord with all our heart - for He is the Rock our Salvation and the Foundation upon which we stand. We are to be devoted to our brothers and sisters in Christ - for we are one Body in Him. Indeed we are members of His Body and united together in Him- not only in this life but in the ages to come. "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness to us and for instructing us on how to live godly lives to Your praise and glory. Help us to stand firm in the faith and act in a way that does not dishonor Your name. May we be alert to the evils that surround us and our brothers and sisters in Christ and never compromise the truth of the gospel but be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.. Help us to withstand the wiles of the devil and be alert to his evil ways. And may all we say and do be done in love - to Your honor and glory in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. Christ's gained a triumphant victory over sin and death on the Cross, which climaxed with His glorious resurrection from the dead... and this verse gives insight into what His glorious resurrection means for all who are in Christ. Every member of Christ's Body will be transformed, spirit, soul, and body, and this perishable body will be changed into an imperishable body, and this mortal will put on immortality. Surely, our jubilant shout of triumphant thanksgiving and victory will resound throughout the eternal ages to come, "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, how much we love You and praise Your name for ever and ever. We are not worthy to pick up the crumbs under Your table and yet You have raised us up and seated us together with Christ Jesus in heavenly places - by sending Your only begotten Son to pay the incredible price for our sins and to break the power of death in our lives. We praise Your name for ever and ever. May all glory and honor be Yours for ever and ever, AMEN. The spiritual house of God, of which all believers are living stones, is being built up by Christ, day by day. He alone is the Foundation-Stone, and yet He is despised and rejected by some human builders. How blessed we are to be members of the Body of Christ , living stones that are being built up into a spiritual house , whose Builder and Maker is God. "For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that by grace we have been made children of God and are being built up by You into spiritual houses. Thank You that our lives are hid with Christ in God and that we have the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us daily. We pray that we may live a life that is honoring to You. In Jesus' name, AMEN. We all need love in our lives, but true godly love is not something that we struggle to produce through our own fleshly efforts, but can only be produced in us as spiritual fruit.. as we abide in Christ and He in us. We need sound judgment and a disciplined minds, but we cannot achieve this by self-effort and fleshly struggling, nor can this be developed through extra-biblical training or webinars. But as we look to Jesus and willingly submit to the on-going training we will experience an inexplicable, inner peace that passes understanding.. for this is the promise of God to all whose mind are resting in Christ. "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You for the Holy Spirit and thank You that our lives are hid within Christ in God. Thank You that You have not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power and love, and of a sound mind. May we not fear rejection or ridicule in this increasingly hostile world - nor fear the likelihood of persecution or pain.. and may we fan into flame our faith in Christ, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. No matter what our situations in life are, there are many lessons that each one of us can learn from this little letter to Philemon. What a joy to know that no-one is excluded from the good news of the gospel of grace - for anyone can be saved through faith in Christ. And yet, it is also important to be aware that although sin can be forgiven, there are always consequences for our wrongdoings and our responsibilities must always be addressed. What an encouragement it is to know God works all things together for the good - even the bad things that take place in our lives. And how vital to face up to our own responsibilities and to let all things be done in love - for this honors our Father in heaven. "Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, as we read through the little letter from Paul to Philemon, how good it is to see the many lessons we can learn from this unfortunate incident. Thank You that the things in a life that were once useless to You can be used for Your praise and glory, when that life is given over to Jesus. Help us to act responsibly in the work you have given us to do, and we pray that we may show godly grace and Christ-like love to all we come in contact with daily, knowing you work all things together for good. In Jesus' name, AMEN. Unfortunately, today there is too often a critical spirit that may be rooted in envy or jealousy. Rather than thankful praise for the work that God is doing through others, and a dear desire that they mature in the faith, too often a bitter attitude toward others is nurtured. This should not be. Let us seek to follow the example of Paul who prayed earnestly and continuously for all his fellow believers, thanking God for their lives and praying that they may grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Let us all pray and keep on praying that our brothers and sisters in Christ would be used mightily by God in the work of the gospel, and to the glory of His name – so that He who started a good work in their lives would complete it. "I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for all our brothers and sisters in Christ who have come to faith in You. May each one grow in grace and become more and more like Jesus Christ. Thank You for their lives and for the love and faith they have in You. Open doors of opportunity so that they may share the good news of Salvation with those that are lost and welcome them at last into Your everlasting kingdom with the words, “well done good and faithful servant”, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. Keep watching and keep praying, is the guiding principle for every child of God, every moment of the day and throughout our time on earth. "Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation." It is only as we submit to God in humble submission and watchful prayer that we can resist temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak - but those that utterly depend on God, abide in Christ and pray in unity are given the strength to overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil - for Christ not only paid the price for our sins but broke the POWER of sin in the lives of all who believe. May we all stand firm on the gospel of grace and the Word of truth, in full assurance that HIS grace is sufficient, for His power is perfected in our weakness. “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, as we consider the passion of Christ and the enormous pressures and pain He underwent on our account, we can only praise and thank You for Your immeasurable gift. We understand that our own, fallen, fleshly resolve is weak, and that a powerful enemy is seeking to shipwreck our faith. But thanks be to God that in Christ, we have all we need to stand firm, as we watch and pray. Help us to rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, and in everything, to give thanks and praise for Your goodness and grace. Help us, Father, to watch and pray in spirit and truth, and to abide in Christ day by day, to Your praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. Whether we find ourselves in the first flush of youth or if we have advanced into the twilight years of old age - ALL that we are and all the choices we make should be for His glory. All the thoughts of our minds and all the motives of our hearts should be an open book - so that when observed by others, our life proclaims ALL to the glory of God. Whenever we are faced with a choice in life, there are two important considerations that should help guide our behavior. Firstly, does my conduct or choice glorify the Lord and secondly, could my action or attitude negativity impact my Christian testimony or have a detrimental effect on my fellow man. "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God" Our United Prayer:
Oh Lord our God, how we long to be the ones whose lives are living testimonies to Your goodness and grace and whose only desire is to live our lives to glorify You. Take our lives, Lord, and may Your will be done in all we say and do every day. Use us as vessels to Your praise and glory - in such a way that You increase, and we decrease, until it is Christ living in and through us, to His praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. We are expected to live in humility and lowliness of mind. We are implored to be meek and mild, unselfish and gentle. We are urged to be long-suffering and to patiently endure (with thanksgiving) the difficult circumstances in life in which we may find ourselves - and we are called to bear with one another and make allowances for each other - for in so doing we demonstrate the love of Christ, being lived through us. "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father thank You for the wealth of spiritual blessings You have lavished on us, by grace through faith. Lord we desire to live godly in Christ Jesus and to walk in humble dependence and humility of heart, before you all the days of our lives. Help us to put off the old-self and to live as You desire - in humble dependence upon You.. to Your praise and glory, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. The loving compassion of every earthly father is completely eclipsed by the tender-hearted pity and grace that God shows to each of His own. He knows our weaknesses. He knows our human frame, our inner frailties, and is mindful. Yet in His mercy and grace, He has rescued us from a miry pit and bestowed on us such riches of His grace, that we should be forever glorifying His holy name. Let us never fail to bless the Lord with our whole being, and not forget all His benefits - for He pardons all our iniquities, heals all our pains, redeems our lives, crowns us with lovingkindness and compassion, and satisfies our years with good things. Let us never forget that just as a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on all of us who fear Him - and He is worthy to receive ALL the honor and praise. " As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that you are such a wonderful, compassionate Father to all Your children. Thank You that You know our inner frailties and remember that we are but dust. I praise and thank You for the many benefits and graces that You bestow on us day by day and moment by moment. Thank You for the loving care you have towards us and for the many benefits that are ours, by faith in Jesus. May we never hold these things lightly and bless Your holy name for Your goodness and grace. This we pray in Jesus' name, AMEN. Whatever the source of our trials and temptations we can choose one of two routes. We can seek to battle-through in our own strength, wondering if God really cares, as the pressure increases until we finally give-up - or we can remember that God is in control and rejoice in the Lord and consider it pure joy - recognizing it as one of the various trials which God will use to fine-tune our faith, increase our dependence upon Him, develop our Christian character and bring us closer to spiritual maturity. "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, there are times when we complain about the trials and tests that seem to effect our walk through life - but we pray that we may increasingly learn to regard the various trials we face as pure joy.. and the inevitable difficulties that come our way as a glorious opportunity to rejoice in You. We pray that we may face our daily trials joyfully, knowing that the testing of our faith will produce endurance and steadfastness. May we increase our dependence upon You, so that we may grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ - to Your praise and glory, AMEN. The evil rider on a white horse, enters the scene as a charismatic, conquering hero. He wears on his head a victor's crown and comes in the power of Satan. He represents the antichrist, described but following in his wake is war, devastation, disaster, disease, and death. Some are deceived into thinking that this is the true Messiah... but he is nothing more than the evil imposter, who has been prophesied of old... for JESUS is the faithful and true Witness. HE will also be riding a white horse but He will be wearing a kingly crown - and many royal diadems - and the kingdom of this world will become the Kingdom of our God and of His Christ - and He will reign forever and ever. "I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for opening up our understanding of the wonderful Revelation of Jesus Christ, the slain Lamb of God, Who is worthy to break the seven seals and bring to completion the evil rule of Satan. Thank You that the Lord Jesus is the righteous Judge of the earth, as well as the coming King of kings and our Heavenly Father. As we draw closer to the day when Your kingdom comes and Your will is carried out on earth, we pray that many more would come to faith in Jesus as Messiah and Lord. This we ask in His precious name, AMEN. Children, grandchildren, boys and girls are all a gift from God. May we who have been given the privilege, responsibility and joy of children - whether our own or those of others - seek to train them up in the way they should go. May we share with them the good news of Jesus Christ and day by day point them in the direction of godly conduct, wise choices and appropriate accountability - praying always that when they are old they will not depart from the way of righteousness. "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege, responsibility and joy of the children You have placed in our lives. We humbly ask that You would guide us in the ways that we should teach them and train them and pray that they may grow up in the fear and nurture of the Lord. May they grow in godly conduct, make wise choices and learn to be both responsible towards others and accountable to authority. Keep them from worldly ways, direct and govern their lives and may they never depart from the way of righteousness, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. |
