Although we may not know the meaning and mystery of all that we are called upon to bear in this world, let us all remember that we may not understand what is happening now, but hereafter we shall know as we are known. Let us learn, that what may be shadowed to our understanding today is being used by God to work together for good, to His praise and for our eternal benefit. In the meantime, let us patiently submit to His will and depend on Him in all things. Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this precious picture in the upper room, when in humble submission to the Father’s will, the Lord Jesus laid aside His garment and began to wash the feet of His bewildered disciples. Lord, there are many times in our lives that we do not understand the reason that You allow certain things to happen, but help us to simply trust You in all things and enable us to pray, Open our understanding to all that You are seeking to teach us, and may we grow in grace as we submit to Your will for our lives. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. We are given the freedom to choose when and how to worship and we have the liberty to choose what to eat or what to wear. We are not required to approach the Lord in a set way, once a year, through an earthly priesthood, to have our sins covered. We have the freedom to approach the throne at any time... for mercy to find help in time of need. Let us rejoice in the liberty we have in Christ while learning to be considerate towards the needs and sensitivities of others. Let's recognize that there are actions and behaviors that may be OK for us while they are not for others. May we respect the choices and decisions of others who lack the freedom we enjoy in our lives and be careful not to judge others who, for some reason, are less in their faith. "One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, how we praise and thank You for the freedom we have in Christ... that we are not under the restrictions of the Law but under the freedom of grace. We pray that we would make the choices in our lives that honor You in all we do. Help us to be mindful of the needs of others who may be weaker in the faith or do not enjoy the freedom and liberty we have in Him. Give us a sensitive spirit to the needs of others and keep us from any criticism of others who make different choices in the non-essentials of the faith. Keep us low at the Cross and broken before You for His name's sake. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. The innumerable stars in a boundless space, which extends far beyond the reaches of mortal eye and contains immeasurably more that our limited imagination can consider, each have their appointed place in God's overall plan. How insignificant we seem in comparison to this vast universe, and how unimportant we appear in contrast with the creative glories that are displayed in God’s universe – and yet we are the vehicle through whom the plans and purposes of God were conceived before the foundation of the earth in the eternal council chambers of heaven. "When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place," Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we stand amazed when we consider the insignificance of us in the context of the splendors of the extended universe, and yet, You love us so much that You gave Your only begotten Son to pay the price for our sins. For this we give You eternal praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN. But we ourselves can too frequently be off-guard by leaving our first Love for the enticements of the world and the appetites of the flesh. Unless we are vigilant in our spiritual life, we can find ourselves walking in the counsel of the ungodly, standing in the way of sinners, and drinking from the broken cisterns of the world. Without due care, we can lapse in our spiritual walk and thus neglect our spiritual growth. How important, therefore, in these last days, to buckle on the whole armor of God, to stand fast in the faith, to persevere in tribulation, to be vigilant in prayer, and steadfast in praise with thanksgiving: "Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons," Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this serious and important warning. We recognize how quickly we can be distracted from the truth of Your Word, enticed away into worldly pursuits, or rendered spiritually impotent by doctrines of demons. Keep us, we pray, and those that we love from the wiles of the enemy. Give us spiritual discernment and a determination to stand fast in the faith, to Your praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. Simply rejecting this unspeakably precious gift from God, refusing to accept and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, results in everlasting condemnation, i.e. spiritual death, which means eternal separation from God, which Revelation tells us happens in the Lake of Fire. While-ever there is life, the unspeakably precious gift from God is still available to whosoever will accept God's indescribable gift, His only begotten Son. "Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the unspeakably precious gift of Your dear Son, Jesus Christ Who has been freely given to us and to all who will simply believe on His name. Father, the gift of Your only begotten Son is beyond all expression, beyond all measure, and beyond all bounds. We worship You for Your unspeakably precious gift to us. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. In order to carry out the commandment of love, we first need to live our lives on earth in the way that God created us to live. We are called to live a life of utter dependence upon Christ Jesus our Lord, and a life that is totally submitted to Him. We need to be one who listens to His voice and carries out His will, living a life led by the Spirit of God and in humble obedience to Him. Let us do as the Father commands. Let us love as Jesus loved us and live a life that walks in sprit and truth and that always seeks to glorify God and to carry out His will, both prayerfully and joyfully. "But I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that in Christ we have been brought back into fellowship with You and adopted into Your family. We pray that we live our lives to the glory of God and that we may carry out Your will and purpose in our lives, not in our own strength but in utter dependence on You and in total submission to the Holy Spirit so that the life of Christ may be lived through us. To Your praise and glory, AMEN. Let us all shout joyfully to the Lord and serve Him with gladness. Let us come before Him with joyful singing and know that the Lord Himself is God Almighty Who has made us, and not we ourselves. Praise God that by grace through faith we are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Let us enter into His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, and let us give thanks to Him and bless His name, for the Lord is good, His lovingkindness is everlasting, and His faithfulness endures throughout all generations. "Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank you for this day of Thanksgiving and thank You for the Word of Life which is in Christ Jesus. Thank You that You are our Creator and God, our Savior and Redeemer. You alone are worthy of all praise and thanksgiving, and we bless and glorify Your holy name. Thank You that You are a faithful God Who keeps His promises and fulfils His Word and thank You that Your loving-kindness endures forever. Praise Your holy name, AMEN. Prayer is not sitting for a few minutes with hands folded, and eyes shut tight. Prayer is the tool we have been given to prepare us for the work God has called us to do and to ensure that we are well-prepared when faced with a crisis. Prayer is not meant to be saved for a rainy day or only used in an emergency. Prayer is our lifeline to the Lord and we should develop an attitude of ceaseless prayer giving thanks for everything. Continuous, ceaseless, prayer is not being engaged in a prayer closet 24/7, but is developing a habit of prayer. It is initiating a mindset of prayer... of keeping the lines of communication to our heavenly Father open and clean, as we walk in spirit and truth and abide in Christ, moment by moment. "Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we bless You for Your grace and mercy to us. Thank You that we have the right to lay at Your feet our own needs and those of others. Increase our understanding of the great privilege of prayer that has been granted to us and all Your children, and we pray that we increasingly devote our lives to You in prayer, praise, and grateful thanks. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. Peace WITH God is never removed from the man or woman who has trusted in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.. but once we are saved by grace through faith.. the inner perfect peace OF God which rules our hearts and minds is dependent on us maintaining a right relationship with God. This is achieved through humble praise, reverent prayer, grateful thanks and a submissive heart that has faith in God's Word and trusts that God will keep His word - in all things. May we with one accord let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts day by day and moment by moment.. for it is to this that the body in Christ has been called - and let us in all things be thankful. "And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we pray that the peace of God may rule in our hearts with thanksgiving and praise, and if there is anything in our lives that is preventing Your peace from guarding our hearts today, we pray that You would show us. May we honor You in all we say and do and we pray that we may grow more like the Lord Jesus in our dealings with our brothers and sisters in Christ, so that Your peace may guard our hearts and the peace of Christ may flow through us to others - This we ask in Jesus name, AMEN. Let us bless the Lord. Let us bless our Heavenly Father with every fiber of our being. Let us bless our heavenly King and glorious Savior with all that is within us, and let us never forget ALL His benefits, for He has redeemed our life from the pit and crowned us with loving-kindness and compassion. He satisfies our years with good things and renews our youth like the eagle. He is compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness. "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits" Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, how we bless and thank You for Your many benefits, Your never-ending grace, and unconditional love. May we sing of Your praise with our whole being, for You alone are worthy. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. The question should not be, "What would Jesus do?" but can this action be carried out in the name of Jesus and to His glory? Can the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be done in the name of Jesus? Is what I say and do honoring Him? Is what I am and what I think worthy of Him, and is my behavior an accurate reflection of His holy name, or would I be ashamed if He were to catch me in the very act? Let us remember that we are witnesses of His grace and His chosen representatives on earth. May all we do in word or deed be done in His name, giving praise and thanksgiving to God the Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord. "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, search my heart, we pray, and see if there is anything that is preventing us from living unto the Lord. May all we do in word and deed, be carried out in the name of Jesus and to His praise and glory. Keep our eyes looking to Him and our hearts ready to do His will. Thank You, Father, that we re called by His name. Thank You that You Who started good works in us, will complete it in the day of Christ Jesus. To You be all honor and praise, thanksgiving and worship. In Jesus' name, AMEN. Because we are His children, by faith, we have been permanently positioned in-Christ, which has given us peace with God, the forgiveness of sins, and life everlasting. But now that we have been saved through our faith in Him, we are to strive to live in peace with all people and to pursue godly consecration and holiness of heart - without which we are told, no one will ever see the Lord. There are many perils and dangers for the one that fails to pursue peace and rejects Christ's call to holiness. Unless we are saved by faith, we cannot have peace with God and unless we are walking in spirit and truth, we will not know the peace of God. We Must: "Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord." Our United Prayer:
Father, thank You that we have been redeemed, sanctified, and set apart by You because we are Your blood-bought children. Our dear desire is that our lives are truly holy and set apart for You, in thought, word, and deed. We have so often spotted our garments by pursuing things other than Your perfect peace, Your holy purity, and Your godly will for our lives. Help us to keep the eyes of our hearts fixed on Jesus and we pray that the lives that we now live in this body may reflect our heavenly position in Christ - in Whose name we pray, AMEN. Let us make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. Let us aim for harmony in the World and try to build each other up in our faith. Let us follow after the things which make for peace so that we may edify one another, and let us pursue what promotes a godlike tranquility in the Body of Christ and build up one another in godly grace. In essential doctrine, may there be unity. In non-essential doctrine, may we demonstrate tolerance. In all doctrine, may we be those that show Christ's love to one another. Unity in the World starts with us, we are all God's children: "So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, forgive us for the times when we have allowed a critical spirit to interfere with godly harmony in the Body of Christ. Give us discernment to know when to stand for the truth of the gospel of grace and when to refrain from ungodly criticism of others, guide us each and every day to unify the world we live in and help us in all our dealings with our brothers and sisters in Christ, to demonstrate Your love. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. No matter how terrible things become, we have an assurance that God's judgement of evil and His punishment of the wicked will surely happen. We also have confidence that false teachers, who lead God's people astray, will be punished for their rebellious, deceitful and sinful ways. Never be tempted to lose heart in life's difficult circumstances, nor despair when we see the wicked flourish. May we maintain our trust in the Lord despite the deteriorating world situation we witness and false teachers that are flooding places of this world. God is not mocked, judgement and punishment will be handed out to the wicked in His time and in His way. Deliverance is assured to those that are His - for ALL His ways are perfect and His judgement are altogether righteous. "Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment," Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, how we bless and thank You for Your precious Word. Thank You for the many truths we learn from its pages and the reassurances we receive that both the righteous judgement of the wicked and gracious deliverance of the righteous is the outcome. Thank You that You know how to rescue Your people from both the temptations of evil and the inevitable trials that stalk the pathway of every man and woman. Give us discernment, we pray, to identify false teachers and their twisted doctrines and to stand fast on the Word of truth, for Your name's sake. Thank You that even in those times when we fail, through fear or lack of faith - that YOU remain faithful to the promises made to those who have trusted in Christ for the remission of sins and life everlasting. Help us to live and work, day by day, for Your praise and glory. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. God is holy, and God is righteous, His Word never fails, and His plans stand firm forever. The intentions of the Lord can never be shaken, and He is a God that remembers His covenant promises to all His people. The words of the Lord are faithful and true, and they are commanded and guaranteed to a thousand generations. So in His grace and mercy we rejoice to read: “I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithful promises to Your people, thank You for Your faithful promises to the Church, and thank You for Your faithful promises to us. Thank You, Father, that Your wrath against our sins was poured out on the Lord Jesus in our place, and that in Him our sins are no longer remembered. Praise Your holy name, AMEN. |
