We have been brought into fellowship with the Heavenly Father by grace through faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ, but this can only be maintained and strengthened as we walk in the light. But we live in a fallen world and are subject to the enticing lusts of the flesh, whether they be sinful actions of the body, prideful thoughts of the mind, or ungodly motives of the heart. How important therefore to Seek To Live Godly In Christ Jesus and to keep a short rein on any sins we may commit. How vital to identify sins of omission or sins or commission and to confess these faults to our Heavenly Father, knowing that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to keep on cleansing us from all unrighteousness. Christ sacrificial death is so all-encompassing that it is sufficient to remove every barrier between God and return mankind into fellowship with the Father, through faith in His sacrificial death. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that Christ is the propitiation for our sins and that His sacrificial death has paid the full price for our sins, brought us into eternal union with Himself, and returned us back into fellowship with the Father. Thank You that by His Resurrection, we have received newness of life and that this same offer of salvation is open to whosoever will believe. Thank You for all those who are coming to Christ. May many more come to a saving faith in Christ before it is too late. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Thomas was not the fool who says in his heart, "there is no God." He was not the rebellious man, with 'a reprobate mind', as described in Romans chapter 1. Thomas loved the Lord desperately, but allowed human reasoning to eclipse the truth. He permitted unbelief to cloud his faith. Thomas, like so many today, yearned that his human senses would secure the deep desire of his heart. So many today long for a voice or vision to supplement their faith. They desire a supernatural sign or a special revelation to safeguard their trust in God. But we are to live by faith and not by sight. We Are To Live By Faith and not by signs. We are to live by faith and not because of some alternative system that supports our faith. Whatever value we place on bodily senses or emotional awareness to stimulate and inform us, God's greater commendation and divine approbation is given to the one who is not influenced by physical senses, human emotions or life's circumstances, but who simply trusts His Word. Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Father, for opening our spiritual eyes of faith to see You and the Lord Jesus. We pray that we will not rely on senses or emotions to inform us of Your love and grace, but will trust the truth of Your Word. Strengthen our faith in You today, Lord. Send us out as messengers to proclaim You as our Lord and our God. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. We are to be holy and hospitable in all our conduct, at home and in the wider community. Our behavior should be friendly, congenial, gracious and welcoming. This truth that some strangers we encounter today could be angels sent from God, is no less true today than it was when Peter was led from his prison cell by an angel, or when the disciples heard from those two men clothed in white, that Jesus will return in like manner as they saw Him go. May we make it Our Daily Practice to show hospitality to strangers and exhibit genuine, loving-kindness to all we meet, for who knows maybe we also have entertained angels unaware or maybe we will encounter one in the coming days. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, it is thrilling to think that we may have helped, provided for, or entertained an angel in our lives. How wonderful to read in the Bible of angels being sent by You as messengers and protectors and that we read of them worshipping You and rejoicing over one sinner who repents. While the study of angels is fascinating, may we never take our focus off You, Lord. May we lift up our voices together with the angels and all the host of heaven to praise and worship You. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Those forty days that followed the Resurrection must have been wonderful for Christ's disciples, because the sorrow and anguish they felt when they thought the Savior was dead and buried (following the grueling time of His arrest, trial, and crucifixion), must have blossomed into a time to ecstatic gladness and joy as Jesus presented Himself to them alive and gave everyone His gracious reassurance that even the terrible act of denial cannot separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord! Christ's death was in payment for the sin of the whole world (for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord), so that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life; this is God's Free Gift Of Grace. Christ's Resurrection broke the power of sin and death in the lives of all who would place their trust in Him, and Christ's commission remains the same today: He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that we are part of the Body of Christ by faith in His death, burial, and Resurrection. Thank You that we have been entrusted with this mission to go into all the world and preach the gospel to all we come in contact with. We pray that in Your strength, we will carry out this evangelistic mission in the places that You have put us, to Your praise and glory. Thank You that You are with us to the end of the age. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. Trials and tribulations, suffering and pain, is all part of the course of a mighty person of God. Timothy is encouraged to be disciplined when facing such difficulties in the same way that a good soldier is obedient to his military commander. Because Christ Is Our Commander-in-Chief, we are encouraged to be obedient to our calling and are expected to face hardships with the same discipline as that of a military person, we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against spiritual principalities and powers in heavenly places. The badge of a disciplined soldier and faithful steward is suffering. Christ Himself learned obedience through His suffering. Paul was an example of a man that endured suffering for the sake of the gospel. We do not have to go on long missionary journeys, spend time in prison, or pastor a church to enroll in the army of believers that endure suffering in order to become a good soldier of the Lord Jesus Christ. But our life will be filled with suffering of some kind, if we are living for the Lord, as Jesus Himself promised. Let us learn obedience through suffering, and let us endure hardship with patient endurance in the place where the Lord has placed us so that we can join the army of Christ as a good and faithful soldiers and servants to our life's end. Suffering is often the badge of honor of a faithful man or woman of God. Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, thank You for the example and teaching of Paul. We long to be people that You want us to be, in the place where You have put us. May our love for the Lord Jesus be such that we rejoice, like the apostle Paul, to endure suffering for the sake of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in Whose name we Pray, AMEN. |
