It is only those that believe on the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting that are given the right to become Sons of God. It is only those that have been saved by grace through faith in the sacrificial work of the Lord Jesus Christ that have the right to approach the throne of grace for help in time of need. How we praise God that we were not only born into the human race but that by faith in Christ we were born again into His heavenly family and have become part of the new creation in Christ. Praise God that we are born-again - children of God and joint-heirs with Him. 14 "For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named." Our United Prayer:
Thank You that we can call you our Lord our Savior and that by faith You are our true and heavenly Father, through time and into eternity. Thank You that You are not only our Creator but that by grace through faith in Christ You have redeemed us all and become our true Father by faith in Jesus. Thank You that we are adopted into Your heavenly family and justified forever by grace through faith in Christ, AMEN. Let us remember that Christ Himself was sent from heaven to take on the form of a man, and be born into the human race, so that His shed human blood would pay the price of humanity's sin - so that all who believe on Him would not perish but have everlasting life. Angels are spiritual beings whom God created to be His servants, but the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God - Sovereign Creator of the universe, Who became the sinless Son of Man, in order to qualify Himself to become our Redeemer. "Of the angels he says, “He makes his angels winds, and his ministers a flame of fire.” Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You sending the Lord Jesus to be Your full and final revelation to mankind. Thank You for making man in Your own image and likeness and for Your wonderful plan of salvation, where despite our faults and failures, You sent Your only begotten Son to become a Man and to die on the cross for the sins of the world. We thank You that Your throne is established in righteousness and justice, and for giving us an understanding of the angelic realm - whom You use as ministering spirits to dispatch both blessings and judgements on the children of men - to Your praise and glory, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. Contrary to finding fault with those that are weak in the faith or deliberately entering into arguments with those that are disadvantaged in their spiritual maturity, such brothers and sisters should be welcomed into our fellowship, and be received with love. We are called to accept those who are weak in faith or whose spiritual maturity is somewhat lacking. We are encouraged to be kind towards one another and tenderhearted and not to seeking to criticize their developed biases or pass judgement on certain opinions or practices they may hold dear. Which can too often lead to disunity and a rupturing of Christ's Body. "As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, forgive us for the times when we have not acted in godly love towards others who may be weaker in the faith than us and who may hold to some practices and biases from which we have been set free. Keep us from developing a critical spirit towards others, and help us not to do anything from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility of heart, count others more significant than ourselves - this we ask in Jesus name, AMEN. We are God's masterpiece, made in Christ Jesus in order that we may be able to perform the good acts and good works, which God prepared for us to do before we were even born. These actions and works cannot be performed by the old putrefying person we were before salvation. These actions and works can only be carried out through our new life in Christ, which is to be governed and guided by the Holy Spirit working in and through us, so that the works that we do are not of us, but our new nature in Him. How wonderful that we truly are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Our United Prayer:
Loving Father, praise Your wonderful name that we are Your handiwork. Thank You that we were not saved by good works, but by grace through faith in Jesus. But thank You that we were saved unto good works, and we pray our lives would be lived to serve You wholeheartedly in the works You have prepared for us to do, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name, AMEN. In a selfish world that is becoming increasingly hostile towards the things of God, is this not what our Lord Jesus Christ expects from each one of us - to show pity to those who are lost and hurting, to render courtesy and compassion on all with whom we come in contact, to be tender-hearted and to be full of grace and truth, for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ. "Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind." Our United Prayer:
Loving Lord, how we desire to apply this gentle spirit of compassion, humility, and love into our lives so that we may be an example of a godly believers and give glory to Your holy name. Help us to apply this in our lives and the lives of others that may not know you. In Jesus' name, AMEN. |
