As believers in Christ we are citizens of another country and subjects of our glorious King. Our loyalty is to another state and our conversation and delight should reside in heavenly places. We are simply pilgrims passing through this mortal path for a brief life-span and so we should not be mindful of earthly things that pass away, but we should fix our hearts on the coming king, looking for Jesus our soon coming Lord. Heavenly citizenship should be a highly prized goal, and integrity should be the outworking of our lives, whether seen by many or executed in the privacy of our own home. "But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ." Our United Prayer:
What a wonderful privilege to be part of Your heavenly family as one of Your children. Thank You Father for all the grace and love that you have poured out on us to make us Your heavenly people, and to give us a heavenly inheritance. We pray that throughout the rest of our lives on earth we may glorify Your holy name in our conversations and conduct, in Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. In His great love for all His children, the Lord continues to plead with every one of His born-again children, to yield to the call of his voice and live godly in Christ Jesus. One day all believers will be taken to be with the Lord Jesus, whether or not they submitted to the sanctifying work of the Spirit in their daily lives. Should we not harken to the call of our Lord Who died so that we might live in newness of life - submitted to His Spirit? "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we know that our hearts are not as fervently in love with you as they should be. Thank You for Your grace and long-suffering patience with us. We confess we have quenched the Spirit in our lives with our indifferent attitudes. We want to change and live in submission to You. We pray that we would open the door of our hearts to Jesus to come and fellowship with us, for in Him is fullness of joy. In Jesus' name, AMEN. This life is the first step into an eternity of love with God; the love of God and our love for God, and these three graces of faith, hope and love must of necessity all continue beyond this mortal sphere, the attributes of God are incomparable in their beauty, His perfections are unlimited in their number. Our knowledge of God must continue throughout the ages to come. Our faith in Him will stand fast forever, and our hope in Him will be forever realized. But it is the love of God that He has for us that will move us ever closer to the love that we have for Him – as we abide in Him and He in us, through time and into eternity. "So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love." Our United Prayer: Thank You Father for Your gift of salvation – simply because we believe in Your Son. Thank You for the hope that is set before us and thank You for the love of the Lord Jesus, which was demonstrated to us on a wooden cross, over 2000 years ago. May His love flood our hearts and pour through us into the lives of others, that they may know Your love, have faith in Your finished work and receive that blessed hope in their hearts, that only comes from You, in Jesus name we pray, AMEN. The love that God has for the world and the love that Christ has for the Church, was written in blood... on a wooden Cross... over 2000 years ago, and the future day of judgement should not hold any fear for those who have been saved by the blood of the Lamb, "for there is no fear in love because perfect love casts out fear." Perfect love, divine love, the holy love of God which, "first loved us," is established as the ultimately highest pinnacle of our Christian life and the capstone in our relationship with the Lord, for as Paul reminds us in Corinthians... the greatest of all is love. We are commanded by Jesus to emulate this love, "love as I have loved you," so that Christ is seen in us. "We love because he first loved us." Our United Prayer: Father, when we think of the depth of Your love for us, we are overwhelmed. We cannot love as You love, unless You pour Your supernatural love through us, so that it may flow through us and out to others. Thank You that we are being conformed into the likeness of Christ. May the seed of love that You have planted within our hearts, blossom into godly love. Take our lives as vessels through whom Your love is shed abroad into a world where real love has been corrupted. We love You, Jesus, and we pray in Your precious name, AMEN. We are to abide in Him, reflect His love, and to love others in the same way that He loved us. It is only as we experience a deepening love for Jesus and all that He has done for us, that we can begin to allow His love to flow into us and through us to others. And then, in His power and strength, we too may lay down our lives in service to Him as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, in Jesus' name. "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." Our United Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the greatest of all examples of love that Christ demonstrated toward us, in that while we were still sinners, He died for us. He has called us to be a member of His Church and to love others as He has loved us. May we love others in His strength and power, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. |
