We need to meditate on all the instructions within the Word of God, to dig deep into the resources that are hidden in every passage and page, to be engrossed with God's Word, and to absorb the Scriptures with care and concern. We should compare Scripture with Scripture and pray that the Lord will guide us into all truth and protect us from any doctrinal error, false pride, or undue criticism, and to minister its truths to all that are placed in our life, as we progress towards an inner beauty that only the Spirit of God can produce in us. Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress. Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Father, for the Scriptures and all that they contain, for they are food for the weary soul, instructions for godly living, and wisdom from above. We pray that we may become absorbed with Your Word so that the beauty of Christ is formed in us. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. We can live our lives in our own strength rather than abiding in the power and strength of Christ, in which case the house we build will be of wood, hay, and stubble, which will finally be burned up - for in me there is no good thing, eternally saved but laying up no treasure in heaven. Or we can choose to submit to the Holy Spirit, die to self, and live to Christ so that it is God Who works in us both to will and to do His good pleasure. Let us all recognize the amazing privilege, huge responsibility, and serious truth that the Spirit of God has taken up permanent residence in our bodies and live our lives as unto the Lord. Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we are beginning to understand the incredible privilege and the serious consequences of having Your Spirit in our bodies. We pray that we may live worthy of the calling to which we have been called. Help us live our lives from this day forward, as unto the Lord. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. We who have become His Body and Bride by faith, also live every day of our lives by faith in the Son of God Who loved us and gave Himself up for us. May we occupy until He comes and obey His command to love others with the same love with which He loves us. May we listen daily for the trump of God when the dead in Christ shall be raised incorruptible and we who are still alive will be changed into His likeness in the twinkling of an eye. May we eagerly look for His soon return when He comes for His people, for then we shall see Him as His is and we will be like HIM. "This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing this wonderful mystery to us, that our relationship with the Lord Jesus is as special and intimate as that between a husband and his wife. May we all who are His Body and Bride, live together in the unity of the Spirit, in a bond of peace, and to the honor of His holy name. He gave His life because of His love of the Church. May we all reflect that love to those around us. In Jesus' name, AMEN. We are given wisdom, discernment, and the knowledge to judge between the good and the evil, and we have been given the Word of God to judge between truth and error. But we are also warned of the serious consequences and destructive force of the hypocritical, sanctimonious criticism of other believers. Let us read the Bible with the eye of faith, with an understanding heart, with godly discernment, and in its correct historical context, and let us apply it in our lives in spirit and in truth. Let us flee from any form of unrighteous judgement, hypocritical conclusions, sanctimonious reasonings, legalistic tendencies, and destructive criticisms, but let us hold fast to sound doctrine and seek to walk worthy before the Lord. "Do not judge so that you will not be judged." Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, keep us, we pray, from hypocritical thoughts and unrighteous judgement of others. But please give us the wisdom and discernment we need to judge between that which is good and that which is evil. Keep us walking humbly before You, and help us to always consider the needs of others before our own. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. Although we may not know the meaning and mystery of all that we are called upon to bear in this world, let us all remember that we may not understand what is happening now, but hereafter we shall know as we are known. Let us learn, that what may be shadowed to our understanding today is being used by God to work together for good, to His praise and for our eternal benefit. In the meantime, let us patiently submit to His will and depend on Him in all things. Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this precious picture in the upper room, when in humble submission to the Father’s will, the Lord Jesus laid aside His garment and began to wash the feet of His bewildered disciples. Lord, there are many times in our lives that we do not understand the reason that You allow certain things to happen, but help us to simply trust You in all things and enable us to pray, Open our understanding to all that You are seeking to teach us, and may we grow in grace as we submit to Your will for our lives. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. |
