As Christians, we are not under law but under grace. As God's children who are saved by grace through faith in Christ, we can walk in spirit and truth OR we can live our life in the lust of the flesh. We can yield to the work of the Holy Spirit within OR we can submit to the evil influences of Satan. As believers, we can allow sin to rule and reign in our mortal body and give in to the sinful desires of our fleshly nature OR we can consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. We can allow sin and Satan to have authority over our bodies OR, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we can nail our old sin nature to the Cross and present our members to God as instruments for righteousness, holy and acceptable unto God. We have these choices because we are not under law but under grace. Praise God that, in the power of the Holy Spirit, we have authority over our bodies to present our members to God as instruments for righteousness, holy and acceptable unto God, we are not under law but under grace. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Our United Prayer:
Thank You, Heavenly Father, that we are no longer under the domain of Satan but are children of God who is under grace and not under the Law. We pray that wee may walk in spirit and truth to Your praise and honor. In Your power, we pray that we will resist the influences of the world, the flesh, and the devil. Help us to walk in meekness, purity, spirituality, and sincerity all the days of our lives, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. God has spoken to humans through the holy Scriptures, and His Word endures forever. The Bible is the singular, unchanging, and non-negotiable line for truth, and it was holy men of God who were moved by the Holy Spirit in bygone days, who were entrusted to record the sacred, God-breathed text. The Scriptures were not devised by the impulses of men, nor manufactured from their own creative imagination, but God in His sovereignty chose certain individuals to be the human authors of His divinely inspired message to mankind. From the first verse of Genesis to the final word in Revelation, we discover the integrity of Scripture to be unsurpassed by human reasoning and yet fallen humans in their foolish folly chooses to reject the God-breathed, verbally inspired, inerrant Word of God, preferring to trust in their own flawed imaginations. The choice to reject the Word, blinds these people from the glorious heavenly message that brings Light and Love and Truth and Life everlasting. To Him be praise for ever and ever. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that by Your grace and love, You gave us the inspired Scriptures through Your chosen apostles and prophets and that they were faithful in writing what the Holy Spirit moved them to write. What a blessing to read that You are our Father in heaven and that Your beloved Son came to earth to be our Savior. Thank You for all the fulfilled prophecies in the Bible, and all the prophecies yet to be fulfilled. May we always hunger and thirst for Your Word as it is light, truth, and life to us. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. Religious people often seek to worship God through symbolic acts, man-made rituals, fleshly works, or emotional outbursts, but God desires a worshipful heart that is clean before Him, dependent upon Him, submissive to Him, and full of humility and grace. God is Spirit, and they that worship God must worship Him in spirit and in truth. There must be no hidden agenda, selfish motive, religious pride, or hypocritical heart. Worship does not require a series of religious rituals nor is it necessary to have an appointed place of worship: God looks on the heart and delights in the one that approaches Him humbly, reverently, and in the fear of the Lord. God is close to those that are humble in heart; He saves those who are crushed in spirit; He feeds those that are hungry for Him, and streams of His living water will flow in and through the man or woman that worships the Lord in spirit and in truth. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You sent Jesus to be born as a man Who was not subject to our limitations and fleshly leanings, but Who lived His life as the perfect example of a man. He walked in spirit and truth, trusting Your Word, in humble submission to the Holy Spirit, and in full dependence upon the Father. We pray that, like Christ, we may live our lives trusting Your Word, in submission to the Holy Spirit, and in total dependence upon You so that we may worship You as You desire, in spirit and in truth, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. All things were made by Him; all the riches of the earth, all the wealth of sky, the treasures of the oceans, and the bountiful resources of the vast universe. All things were made by Him, and all things were made for Him. All these unimaginable riches and the glories of His heavenly status were laid aside simply because of His GRACE towards us. All the inconceivable and vast riches of His glory were set aside for your sake and for mine and He stripped Himself of everything, becoming so poor that He did not even have a place to rest His head. Though He was the Creator of the universe, He was born into a human race that had rebelled against their Creator. He came into a fallen world that was lying in the hands of the evil one, a world that was in bondage to the evil governance of Satan (a created being who rebelled against His Creator God), and the Son of God did all this for love of you and for love of me so that by His deep poverty we might become rich. For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, how great is Your grace and love toward us, that You would strip Yourself of all You had and all You were, to live a life of humiliating poverty so that we could be saved from our sins and inherit the riches of eternal life. Praise Your holy name, AMEN. Jesus Christ alone can claim: "I Am that I Am" He uniquely can declare: "Before Abraham was, I Am." Only Christ can proclaim: "I Am the Way and the Truth and the Life; the Alpha and the Omega; the Author and the Finisher; the First and the Last; the Beginning and the End," He alone "is before all things, and in Him all things hold together." By faith we understand that the universe was created by the Word of God, and by faith we understand that "the Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us and we behold His glory by grace through faith in Him." But we know that when Christ appears we shall see Him as He is, full of grace and truth, and on that day - we shall be like Him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word of truth and for revealing Christ to us through the Scriptures. Thank You that He set aside His eternal glory and came to dwell among us as a Man and identified with our sinfulness so that by faith, we could be forgiven of our sins and be identified with His righteousness. Thank You that in Him, we live, and move, and have our being, and that He holds all things together by the strength of His great and mighty power. Thank You that in Christ, we have been made children of God, through time and into eternity. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. It is God ALONE Who looks on the thoughts and intents of the heart. God alone knows if our faith is genuine. God alone knows if we truly believe in our heart that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose on the third day, according to the Scripture. And when a person believes on the Lord Jesus Christ in their heart for the forgiveness of their sins - God knows and He saves. And it is God ALONE to Whom we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord. Confessing with my mouth to another person can never cause us to be saved - even if we use the right words, no man can save another person - only God can save. Only God can forgive sins. And when a sinner confesses with their mouth to God that he believes in the Person and Work of Christ and that 'Jesus is Lord', God is faithful and just to hear our confession and forgive us our sins, God hears and He saves. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, there is much that we do not understand about the Word of God and much that we need to be taught, but we pray that the Holy Spirit would guide us into all truth. Keep us from being swayed away from the truth of the gospel of grace into a distorted gospel by those that show religious zeal, religious ignorance, religious intolerance, or religious arrogance. Help us to study to show ourselves approved unto God and give us the wisdom and the humility to seek You when we do not understand. Open our eyes, we pray, so that we may see wonderful things in Your written Word. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. We may have to face difficulties and dangers, and be called upon to experience tragedies, disappointments, persecutions, and even death. Indeed, the Lord Jesus Himself reminded us that in this fallen, groaning world we will suffer tribulation. But we also have His unfailing assurance that the blood of Christ has overcome sin, the world, and the devil, and that every single circumstance of our individual lives, as well as the global, satanic plans of the enemy are all working together for God's glory and for the eternal good of ALL who are called according to the purposes of God, which is to be conformed to the image of His Son. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that we have been called according to Your plan and purpose, it is not Your will that any should perish, but that all should come to faith in Christ Jesus our Lord. Thank You, Lord, that You are causing all things to work together to finally achieve Your great redemptive plan and purpose for mankind. And thank You, Lord, that so often we see Your gracious hand working in our lives and in the lives of all Your children, as You gently transform us into the image of the Lord Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. God in His grace stretched out His arm of peace to the fallen race of man, through the gift of His only begotten Son. God in His mercy stooped down to humanity so that the sacrificial death of the sinless Lord Jesus would pay the penalty for our sin through faith in Him... so that sinful man might be declared righteous, forgiven of our sins forever, and eternally clothed in the righteousness of Christ. Our sinless Savior was made sin on our account. The eternal Son of God bore the accumulated sins of the whole world upon Himself - including YOUR sin and MY sin. The Lord Jesus identified with our sinfulness and shame so that we could be eternally identified with His glory and everlasting righteousness, simply by believing in the name of the only begotten Son of the most high God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we can scarcely take in the depth of love You have for us... sinners who deserve nothing but condemnation. We praise You for Your grace, love, wisdom and mercy towards us. We thank You, Father, that You made Him Who knew no sin to be made sin for US, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Thank You that through Christ there is no condemnation for those that believe in Him as Savior. Thank You there is no condemnation for those that are IN Christ. We do believe... and we thank You, Father. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. The LORD is my strength and my shield,". His grace and strength is sufficient... He is the all-powerful God. "My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped,". He has promised to be with us in every situation of life... and all God wants from us is to trust His Word, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and hold fast to His many precious promises. Without faith it is impossible to please Him, but those who put their trust in Him will never be disappointed. " My heart leaps for joy, "and with my song I Praise Him." There is something very edifying and encouraging in glorifying God and singing praises to Him... even when faced with problems and pain, it not only lifts our hearts and give hope to our souls, but causes us to trust Him in our helplessness and gives great glory to our Father in heaven. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, what comfort and joy all Your children gain from Your precious Word, and we thank You that You are our strength and our Shield. Our hearts trust in You, and we praise and thank You for the help and comfort we received, through faith in Christ Jesus our Savior. Thank You that Your ear is ever open to the cries of Your people. Help us take every thought captive to Christ, when circumstances arise that would otherwise overwhelm us and cause us to fear. The joy of the Lord is our strength, therefore our hearts are grateful in thanks and eternal praise, AMEN. The wise are the ones that pursue peace and speak the truth in love, while the tragedy is that those who wallow in interpersonal war and chase after conflict have their roots in sin and self. But praise God, that when we recognize that the good we want to do in the spirit is opposed by the evil that we want to carry out in the lusts of the flesh, we have an answer!! Jesus Christ is the one who can separate us from this body of sin and death and its suffocating power over us. He not only paid-the-penalty for our sin but broke-the-power of sin in our lives - and has promised that His grace is sufficient for all the battles that we may have to face in this body of flesh. What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that 'in-Christ' we have the sufficient grace and power through Him to overcome the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. Thank You that Your grace is sufficient for all our needs, our sufficiency is in Christ alone. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN. |

2 Corinthians 2:17
"Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God." |
