PRAYING TOGETHER AS A FAMILY
God knew before we were born if we would be someone who, one day, would receive His gift of salvation. Packaged in our great salvation, is not only justification (when we first believed) but sanctification (as we grow in grace throughout our Christian life) and also glorification (when Jesus returns to take us to be with Himself in heaven). Today we are called of Jesus Christ to sanctification - to grow spiritually in the grace of God and to become mature believers who are rooted and grounded in Christ. This cannot be done in our own might or power, but only as we willingly submit to the guiding hand of the Spirit of God. May we be willing in all things, to say: "Thy will not mine be done." May we actively depend on Him to produce in us the fruit in righteousness in our daily lives. And be actively dependent and yet passively productive for His greater glory, as we submit to His leading in all we say and do. among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ; Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that we are also, "the called" of Jesus Christ, by grace through faith in Him. Keep us low at the Cross and willing to say, "Thy will be done in our lives." In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. As we search God's Word, we discover many references to this remarkable day. Some Scriptures describe it as a terrible day of darkness when God's wrath is poured out on an unbelieving world,-The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. while other passages describe the glories of a coming kingdom of peace and prosperity, when Christ comes in power and great glory to rule the earth with a rod of iron and is crowned as King of kings and Lord of lords. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You told us the end from the beginning and that we have a greater understanding of Your plan of redemption - for both those that are called by Your name and for those that reject Your precious offer of salvation. Thank You that by faith we have the Holy Spirit and are not appointed to wrath - knowing that Christ bore our sins in His body on the Cross so that by faith we have been forgiven of our sins, have passed from death to life, and are members of Christ's Body. Give us hearts for the unsaved, and use us to tell forth the glories of Your wonderful name and amazing plan of redemption. This we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. By Him all things were made, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, authorities, lords, rulers, and powers. All things were made by Him and all things were made for Him. He was sent by the Father to accomplish salvation in the power of the Spirit. Only God the Son was dressed in human flesh and became the Son of Man - and for this reason, all power has been given to Him to judge. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Our United Prayer:
Father in heaven, we worship and praise Your holy name for Your wonderful plan of salvation. Thank You for sending Jesus, the Word, Who was with the Father before the world began. He came to earth willingly, in human flesh, so that sinners such as us may be redeemed by His precious blood. Praise Your name and praise Jesus, in Whose name we pray, AMEN. The salvation message of Luke's Gospel is: "Good tidings of great joy to all people," and the core content of Luke's Gospel is that Jesus Christ has come to seek and to save that which was lost. Satan continues to employ strategies to discredit the truth of God's Word, and the continuing, ruthless attacks on the glorious gospel of our risen, ascended, and glorified Christ is accelerating today in our post-modern society - so that if possible it would even deceive the elect of God. Let us be sober and vigilant, for the enemy as a roaring lion is seeking to dismantle the gospel of Christ and cause our faith to flounder. Let us hold fast to that which you have, knowing that the Lord Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that in Him we have forgiveness of sins and life everlasting - to His praise and glory. so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the good news of the gospel of Christ and for salvation which is ours by grace through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank You for the truth of Your Word and for the wonderful message of grace that is extended to all who trust in Christ for salvation. Help us to hold fast in the evil days, knowing that Christ is returning to take us to be with Himself. To Him be all praise and glory, AMEN. The very nature and heart of God is eternal LOVE. Love is the superlative and pre-eminent affection of the soul. Love is the peak and pinnacle of a life that is hid with Christ in God. And when all is brought to completion there remains these three: Faith and Hope and Love - but the greatest of all is LOVE. It is out of His deep and everlasting love for us that He commands this level of affection from His children - for it is only as our love is centered upon Him, that our lives will be transformed into His image and likeness. Only then will His perfect love flow through us to others. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we know that our love is weak and cold by comparison with Your yearning heart of love towards us which is expressed in the incredible gift of the Lord Jesus as our Substitute and Savior. We want to love You more and more with every facet of our lives, in thought and word and deed - spirit, soul, and body. Pour into our hearts Your holy love, that we may be used as a channel of blessing through whom Your precious love flows out to those that we meet today. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN. |
