From the very first verse in Matthew's Gospel to the closing statement in John's Apocalypse, the focal figure of the New Testament is Jesus Christ... and the thrilling testimony is salvation by grace through faith to all who believe. From the opening verse of his Gospel, Matthew begins to open our understanding that Jesus Christ is the promised Seed of Abraham through Whom all the families of the earth will be blessed. JESUS - the unique Son of the living God was born into the human race as Jesus - the immaculately conceived Son of Man. He was, "the son of David and son of Abraham," Who was born of Mary and gained regal legitimacy through Joseph. The ways of God are beyond our understanding but His plans and purposes are perfect. This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham: Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, as we read Your Word and consider the truths that it contains, We see that Your ways are so much greater than we can imagine. You gave Your Son to be born as Son of Man - just as the prophets of old foretold. Thank You that Your plans and purposes, which were made in eternity past, can never be changed and that one day Jesus is returning as King of kings, to sit on the throne, where He will reign in righteousness, and rule in justice. Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN. Like much of the Old Testament, the prophecy of Malachi was specifically written to Israel and not to the New testament. Nevertheless it remains a vital tool to help us recognize that we are sinners in need of salvation. What we discover is a steadfast God Who through time and into eternity is faithful to His Word.. a patient God who is long-suffering and of great goodness.. a God Who is unchanging and unchangeable and a God Who will never go back on His word. Let's study to show ourselves approved unto God and rightly divide the world of truth. Lift up our voices in praise and thanksgiving that He is the unchanging and unchangeable God.. Who is faithful and true. How we praise Him that He loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whosever believes in HIM will not perish but have everlasting life. I the LORD do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, how we praise and thank You that You are the unchanging and unchangeable God. Great is Your faithfulness to all Your children. Thank You that Your word remains fixed forever and that Your promises to all that have found salvation in you can never change.. for You are the unchanging God Whose word stands fast for ever and ever. We praise Your name for ever and ever, AMEN. If the only way to escape the terrible time to come is through faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, should we not take every opportunity to tell our loved ones, our friends, our relatives, our neighbors, our work colleagues, and those we meet, the good news of the gospel of grace and the terrible consequences of rejecting God's offer of salvation? May we be as faithful in our generation in warning to the lost of their need of Christ as Zechariah was when he warned Israel, "Behold, a day of the Lord is coming, when all you own will be taken from you, and divided in front of you." Behold, a day is coming for the LORD, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in your midst. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, as we see the stage being set for the end times events, we know that the Rapture is drawing ever closer... as is the great and terrible Day of the Lord. Father, we do thank You for our salvation and that we are not appointed to wrath, because Jesus took the punishment for us at the Cross, when Your fury and wrath was poured out on Him, for our sins. Lord. There are many that are not yet saved through faith in Christ, who will be facing the wrath to come and eternal separation from You, if they do not turn to Him for the forgiveness of their sins. Use us in whatever way You will, to shout the good news of the gospel, before it is too late - this we ask in Jesus' name, AMEN. Although the book of Haggai is addressed to Israel, every part of Scripture is profitable for all of God's children, and there is much that we, Christians, can learn from this punchy little book, which shows the value that God places on godly service and humble obedience, even when circumstances are difficult and dangerous. May we set our hearts to trust and obey the inspired Word of God and be careful to follow every instruction that has been given to the Christian Church in the New Testament and may we learn all He wants to teach us throughout the Holy Scripture - both Old and New. We should strive to put Christ in His rightful place in our lives and prioritize those things which are important to the Lord. Let's be those that build up the body of Christ collectively, we are being built into a spiritual Temple for His greater glory. We should always evaluate our own personal lives - to see if there is anything that dishonors the Lord. Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins? Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing history of Your people and the wonderful way that You use them to teach us spiritual truths and warn us of the dangers of disobedience or carelessness in our Christian lives. Thank You that we have the Holy Spirit and are living stones in the spiritual Temple of God, which is being built up for Your eternal glory. May we live and work for Your everlasting praise, and keep us from wasting the precious time we have left, or shelving important spiritual things for the sake of the urgent!!! Thank You in Jesus' name, AMEN. There are many that like to accuse God and blame Him for the wrongs that this world conceives, but man caused the earth to be cursed, because of his sin. The Lord does no wrong. He has promised to sustain those that trust in Him. The Lord applies His justice, morning by morning. He does not fail at dawn, yet "the one who does wrong knows no shame." The promises of God remain faithful and true, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His mercies are new every morning. He is a good and gracious God. He is altogether righteous, keeps His promises morning by morning, and has pledged never to fail us nor forsake us. He will avenge and protect all who honor His name BUT will severely judge those who reject the truth, distort His Word, turn aside from His offer of salvation, and engage in the wicked ways of the world. The LORD within her is righteous; he does no injustice; every morning he shows forth his justice; each dawn he does not fail; but the unjust knows no shame. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are good and gracious, righteous and true. Thank You that the day is coming when You will right all wrongs and bring everything under Your righteous and holy authority. Use us as You will, in the forwarding of Your plans and purposes. Bring many to faith in the God of their salvation, for His name's sake, AMEN. |
