PRAYING TOGETHER AS A FAMILY
When we praise our Heavenly Father and glorify His holy name, the focus of our attention is removed from our own, limited life and petty predicaments. It gives balance to all we say and do. God Himself knows the immense benefits that we enjoy when we turn our eyes away from ourselves onto the Lord Jesus and look full into His wonderful face The Lord is worthy of our ongoing worship and devoted praise. He deserves our grateful thanksgiving and whole-hearted trust in every area of our life. And when He is the center of our lives, we look to HIM and HIS power and abilities rather than our own inabilities... as we know that His grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in our dependent reliance upon HIM. I will praise the LORD at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and the truths it contains. We pray that we will bless You at all times and in all circumstances. We pray that we may develop attitudes of grateful thanks and worshipful praise in every area of our lives - no matter how tiresome the task may be. we pray that in all things and at all times we would seek to glorify You. In Jesus' name, AMEN. The message that Paul delivered was a demonstration of the power of God as the Holy Spirit worked through him, causing a spiritual stirring in the hearts and minds of those that heard his healing words of truth, which brought them to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! In His grace God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. He has chosen you and He has chosen me to be ministers of the new covenant, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong. Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world.. while in His grace He has seated us together with Christ in heavenly places to be His ambassadors on earth as we proclaim the good news of the gospel. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You gave to Paul and Your other apostles the message of the cross, which is the greatest demonstration of the Spirit and of power, for it saved wretches like us. Thank You that salvation does not necessitate worldly wisdom, but comes through the message of the cross. Praise Your holy name, AMEN. When one is caused to bless the Lord, it is as a declaration of God's supremacy as our praiseworthy Creator and gracious heavenly Father. When one offers the Lord blessings and praise, it is an acknowledgement of God's goodness and greatness and it speaks of His unfathomable kindness to us who are totally undeserving of His mercy and grace. Zachariah's prophesy was written in such a way that the future redemption of His people had already been accomplished. The words of faith he spoke were factual words that would be realized at the Cross and yet will be fully executed in future time. May we be those whose faith is established and anchored to the facts of Scripture... when faith is founded on God's unchangeable Word, we know ALL that He has promised WILL be completed - through Jesus Christ our Lord. “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You for Your Word of truth and for examples of faith like Zacharias, where Scripture is confirmed before it is brought to completion. We bless Your holy name for Your goodness and grace to all Your people and for the finished work of Christ on the Cross which has secured our eternal salvation and life everlasting. Help us to stand firmly on the facts of Scripture and trust You in every eventuality of life for His name's sake, AMEN. There are many that like to accuse God and blame Him for the wrongs that this world conceives, but man caused the earth to be cursed, because of his sin. The Lord does no wrong. He has promised to sustain those that trust in Him. The Lord applies His justice, morning by morning. He does not fail at dawn, yet "the one who does wrong knows no shame." The promises of God remain faithful and true, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His mercies are new every morning. He is a good and gracious God. He is altogether righteous, keeps His promises morning by morning, and has pledged never to fail us nor forsake us. He will avenge and protect all who honor His name BUT will severely judge those who reject the truth, distort His Word, turn aside from His offer of salvation, and engage in the wicked ways of the world. The LORD within her is righteous; he does no wrong. Morning by morning he dispenses his justice, and every new day he does not fail, yet the unrighteous know no shame. Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are good and gracious, righteous and true. Thank You that the day is coming when You will right all wrongs and bring everything under Your righteous and holy authority. Use us as You will, in the forwarding of Your plans and purposes. Bring many to faith in the God of their salvation, for His name's sake, AMEN. Being baptized into His death, means that we are to be identified with all that He is, just as He became identified with all that we are. He identified with our sin so that we could be identified with His righteousness. Being identified with His death on the Cross and His glorious Resurrection means that we are to die to self. We are to die to all that we are in our old, pre-salvation days. It means to put off the old sin nature and cease from any fleshly strivings we undertake to 'please' God. But it also means that we are to be raised to newness of life (the new, born-again life in Christ). We are to keep the old 'ME' nailed to the Cross and allow the new 'ME' (the new life in Christ) to abide in Him, rest in Him, be nourished by Him, and depend upon Him in all things. There must be death to self, death to sin, death to legalistic tendencies, death to all that is not of Christ, so that we may live as God intended us to live - in complete dependence upon Him, by grace through faith. Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? Our United Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus dying on the Cross so that we may be forgiven of our sins. Thank You for identifying with our unrighteousness so that we may be identified with Your righteousness. And thank You for identifying with our deaths so that we may be identified with Your life, our new lives in Christ. Help us to keep all that is not of You nailed to the Cross, and we pray that we may live godly in Christ Jesus, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name we Pray, AMEN. |
