“Weary and burdened” is a perfect way to describe the state of men and women on the earth, in today’s hurried society more than ever. The Savior beacons us to stop and look to him for rest. 
These great words of our Lord have been a balm to millions of weary Christians. God does not promise a life devoid of hardship, but for those who have attempted to carry their own burdens and earn their own salvation, it is water to a man in a desert who is dying of thirst.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You that we can come close to You, knowing that the barrier of sin has been removed. Thank You that You give us true rest for our souls and perfect peace in our hearts - and that in the midst of any storm Your peace that passes human understanding remains. Look with mercy on those who have not yet come to you for salvation and convict their hearts of their need to come to You and trust in Your redemptive blood for the forgiveness of sin. Thank You in Jesus' name we Pray...AMEN
